Hello! There has probably been discussion about this but we set up our own servers after long time of renting from Nitrado. We have two maps on cluster, both server settings allow dino, character, etc. downloads, but if I try to transfer to another map, it let's me choose a region and push "spawn" button, but then it throws me to "create character" menu. And my character data stays in the map I was trying to get out of (I have to download my character to old map). Is there a fix to this?

I have a bug ticket in for deinonychus and drakes not spawning for unofficial that I submitted a few days ago after multiple people confirmed it was happening (a mix of one or the other and both missing) Fingers crossed they resolve it soon! Just have to wait on the dev team to get to it 🙂

Idk if this is the right channel but im looking at hosting a dedicated sever on my pc so I can play with a couple friends on playstation, im upgrading to: rtx 3070, ryzen 5 5600x and 16GB DDR4 ram. I’ve got about 83 Mbps download and 29Mbps upload. Will that be sufficient or do I need 32gb of ram, and/or faster internet?

yes and no. Not the "stats per level" setting. There are 3 similar settings. Stats per level, add per level, stat affinity. Im mixing with these settings and noticed that stats per level is the settings that controls how much your dino's stat goes up when you level it up with exp. The add per level should be how much stat the dino gains when tamed or mutaded (for me this only applies to melee however, no matter what I put into the other stat's settings), and the affinity should be how much stats it gets relative to the taming effectiveness. Im now wondering if anyone knows why the add per level only applies from my testing to the melee stat which makes no sense.

Ok so in game.ini, if you want to add it as a spawn, then you would want something like this to set its region and what you want to spawn (In this case its the abb gigantoraptor in the fertile zone of valg).

I havent checked if they spawn in the fertile or not but if they do then you can use this to replace the base ones with abb ones (Though it would replace ALL gigsntoraptors on the map as abb ones).

My only concern is that gigantoraptors spawn weird since they have a nest so idk if its gonna cause issues, but this is what I do on my server so set spawns. Does anyone know how to fix the issue for lost/timed out connection when you log in to a server? It's kind of annoying and it's been there since as far back as I remembered and I've tried everything.

Resetting connection, trying a different network, flushing dns, no VPNs, resetting winsock, making sure nat is open, changing network settings in game, uninstall and reinstall, restarting PC, Formatted PC, changing graphics.

You can host a free server that is up as long as you have it up. Yes. But, it won't be always on (unless you leave it open on your computer) unless you host through someone or set your own personal server up that requires leaving ports open.

Lowering their spawn rate for now might be the best option:

__Go to your server’s Game.ini file. __(Usually under your host’s Config Files section.) Add this to the bottom of the file:

Adjust the numbers if needed:

SpawnWeightMultiplier=0.1 → lowers how often Fire Wyverns are picked to spawn (0.1 = 10% as common).

SpawnLimitPercentage=0.1 → caps how many Fire Wyverns can exist at once.

Save your changes and restart the server.

Once it’s back online, run this command in your admin console:

cheat DestroyWildDinos

This wipes existing wild dinos and forces new spawns using your updated rates.

Lower both values to reduce spawns or set them to 0.0 to effectively disable Fire Wyverns entirely.

If you want fewer Fire Wyverns without removing them completely:

In Beacon:
Open your project → go to the Spawns tab.
Search for and open the container:

Ragnarok_WyvernTrench
Find the entry for Fire Wyvern (Wyvern_Character_BP_Fire_C).
Lower the values:

Spawn Weight Multiplier: 0.1 (makes them 10% as common)

Spawn Limit Percentage: 0.1 (caps how many exist at once)
Save → Export your Game.ini → upload it to your server.
Restart your server, then run this command:

cheat DestroyWildDinos

That clears old spawns so the new rates take effect.

Tip: Setting both values to 0.0 effectively removes Fire Wyverns completely.

I'm currently having an issue on my private server (Nitrado) where specific dinos are not able to be downloaded on Val.

I've seen no level cap correlation in dinos I attempted to check (We are set to difficult 6) Many we've noticed are modded dinos, while those mods are still active, but I also discovered I couldn't download a Yi Ling either, so its not limited to modded dinos. Other modded Dinos download fine. I haven't checked every creature there is, of course.

Edit to Add: Dinos are not corrupted. I could download them again in solo just fine.

I also haven't seen any mention of this on any related Discords or here. So I'm currently pretty stumped. I would really appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

Hi, maybe somebody knows how to do this.
We're about to switch map and want a somewhat fresh start, without loosing our previous boss and notes progress.
The idea was to drink a mindwipe and then have a server setup that for example won't allow to level beyond level 20 for a few days. Then set a new cap to level 40 or sth. and so on.
We'd want to keep the experience we already have (currently up to level 145), so when the next cap unlocks, we'd basically immediatly level up to the new cap until it's been raised to our current levels

I manually spawned varying levels in the trench one by one about 20 times. Eggs spawned in and I have just been doing that twice a day on our server. It's a pain I know but the only way we could get drakes and eggs in.

Worked with the wyverns as well.

Tek creatures is causing the issue, but I have also discovered it was blocking deinotheriums from spawning as well

So if you want deinonochus and deinotheriums on your server you need to disable tek dinos everywhere

My game just suddenly after one small update stopped updating mods. Reinstalled everything multiple times, tried everything internet said and there seems to be no fix for this issue. I have 2 friends that can't connect to my self hosted servers, but I have 5 other friends who can connect no problems. I get no errors when they join, but for some reason they just disconnect from the server as they're loading in. Anyone experianced this issue before?

Make sure their game has been updated, as a version mismatch can cause this. As well as make sure your server has been updated (may have to force update it - refer to your hosting provider on how to do this, as it may not be the same as ours) - Do the same with any mods - hard to be out of date with this as it usually forces updates for them, but never know. If they are using Steam, have them verify the integrity of the files. Can flush the local cache for Ark by deleting this file: %LocalAppData%\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal

Last case to rule it out - If you guys can start a new map, just for now, and see if their characters' data was corrupted. If they can log in and stay on with this, then log in under the new data, you can try to join their old character back (cheat TransferImprints <OldPlayerID> <NewPlayerID>), or (way easier) use some commands to get their new character to the same level they were.

Just found a way around drakes not spawning (somewhat). If you use b+ spawners mod and place one in the drake trench and spawn a few drakes down there the game will automatically spawn the eggs as if they were naturally spawning again since it’s detecting that drakes are in the area. Make sure they are near an area where the nest can spawn if you do this!

Is anyone else experiencing a ridiculous amount of log spam for their Astraeos server still? i use -servergamelog so im used to some movement, but im now seeing what looks like the spawn, decay and every possible loot drop on the map constantly. When i say excessive logging, i mean since last update the Astraeos log file is now 4.9gb. For reference, not even notepad can open that it's too big

I removed -servergamelog and deleted existing Astraeos log file and massive backup logs. I restarted the server and logged in. In under 5 minutes the server console window shows just over 90,000 lines, showing what seems to be every asset that is loaded on the map. Every 5 mins or so the server console windows becomes unresponsive. My guess is it's UE5 verbose logging somehow but im not sure. Here's some examples:

Odd indeed. Cluster has 8 maps running off one instance and one ini. Astraeos is the only map affected. From logs I have this has been since the last server update. Will retry a system restart tomorrow. Computers do weird computer shit at times so I can’t rule it out

Easiest way is to use Nitrado. If you don't want to use Nitrado, then you can self host, rent yourself a dedicated server box and install your Ark servers there.

There are a few server managers out there to help with this.

You have to add the drakes spawns to the drake trench container to get them to spawn. Then you get nests and eggs.

You can do this yourself by putting the dinos in the spawn container :) There's an ok guide for it on the wiki or you can use a tool like beacon to do it for you

they will unless they turn off auto dl, which sadly the game is so buggy and you kind of have to turn off auto dl.

Settings > Advanced > Disable Cosmetics Dynamic Downloading - set to off, have them derender base and itll auto download the mods. then turn it back on to stop from crashing, but requires de-rendering base

All of my beaver dams spawn in with an empty inventory and the bigger ones aren't spawning at all, anyone have an idea what's going on there? They don't break on their own due to empty inventory either, gotta hit them to break them and get new ones to spawn.

so im using asct to run servers and just spent an hour uninstalling every mod then reinstalling 1 by 1 to get the server running. mods that cause server to crash: der dino finder, wall n floor decor, jvh garden decor, dino depot,nanohs equipment and cyberstructures. all the other mods work fine, but any time i put one of those into the mod list the server crashes after loading mods. no error messages either. any suggestions

My 73.39 servers aren't starting today.

They've been working fine, played on my valg server yesterday. These run locally on my machine using ASM-Ascended. I start them up, they get to a point after 'passive production' 'spawndinoinball' and just stop..enters ticking loop. They never get to the 'advertising for join' line. I just happened to have my astraeos server at 73.26 and it starts up and advertises for join without any issue. However, the 73.39 update was 5 days ago. I've played several times on 73.39 since then, so not sure why it's suddenly not working. Also reinstalled my scorched server to 73.39, and it won't start either. Seems to be an issue just with 73.39

are you self hosted (running th serveer on your own hardware) or do you have Nitrado? self hosted, you should chck that he's using the corrct filters, and that ports are forwarded. and if it's nitrado, make sure the filters are correct on the server browser and also h could be affected by the AWS outage as well

I’m running an Ark: Survival Ascended server through Nitrado, and right now I only have one map active.

I’m trying to figure out how to switch between different maps (for example, The Island to Scorched Earth) without losing progress. (keep the bases on each map)

Specifically, I’d like to know:

How can I download and back up my current save file?

Is it possible to bring my character, items, and dinos between maps, and how exactly do I do that using an Obelisk or terminal?

Which Nitrado or .ini settings need to be changed to allow transfers (like bAllowDinoDownload, PreventUploadItems=False, etc.)?

I might set up a cluster later, but for now I just want to safely swap between maps on a single server.

Any type of information or guides or videos that explain this would be really helpful. Thanks.

Run your own server. 16GB of RAM is enough for a single map server. Then add about 10GB RAM (roughly) for each additional map you want. A 32GB RAM server should be good for 3 maps in a cluster.

You should be able to create a Cluster ID without actually joining other servers to the cluster. Then you should be able to upload, switch maps, download.

Also you can use FTP or Tools -> File Browser to download your save files

ok the thing is 255 stat level cap so i tried spawning a perfect 254 all stats dino and another just random but 10k level so the 10k one had obviously greater stats and all but when i restart or something the stats goes away but i saw youtubers with more stats even after restarts and using soul orbs from dino storage too and the second thing is the cap of the available points like i saw all the youtubers playing having 700+ or 500+ available stat points but why is mine not going above 88.So is there are any mods or anything to do to change all this?I tried .ini and all but yeah this is something i am getting frustated with so if there is a way please tell me.

as the bat file. you are gonna have to start this instead of it on steam. (you can probably add this to steam as a non-steam game tho )

Actually, correction to what I told you before.

Turning CrossARK on is so that you could, while you're on your server on the old map, upload to the obelisk, then switch the map on the server, and then, on the new map, download from the obelisk again.

If you want to download your save file to singleplayer, and then transfer your character from singleplayer, CrossARK actually has to be turned off.

did they changed how servers work in asa? i use a server for my single player,and like breeding they only breed when i'm in render range ,when i'm offline they don't breed at all,
it's like my server goes in hibernation 😒

in ase my server could run while i was sleeping and all my breeding projects whould still go on,now when i sleep they don't breed,and as soon as i'm online,they all start breeding

if it's your server you don't need to do the admin url thing. just enable cheats using the admin password if you set one. make sure you enabled console commands too

that's weird. not sure why it would do that. i just do the enable cheats thing and it works. you don't have any capital letters or special characters in the password, do you? it has to be only lowercase letters or numbers to work

Me and my friends are actually testing Ini Entries because we wanna start an community-cluster. we would like to test, how its working to activate the tek/bionic dinos on every map. is there an .ini entry to activate them all or do I have to fill in an entry for every dino and how would the entrys look like?

Theris arent native to ab and are considered foreign.
If it doesnt spawn there on official, its a foreign dino.
