I think it was something with max points into a certain stat. Is there a command/config for that?

none that i know of , but theres so many i forget half them tbh, i just used search stat on the wiki page an cudnt find anything relating to capping a players stats , i dont ever remeber it being possible either
Maybe it's a mod then I'll keep looking. I know for 100% fact I capped movement speed at 180% before.

Do anyone can doing the instantly candy so I can taming somes first dinos and horses because I'm playing solo mod and since the first map was uploaded they is not anyone creatings instantly candy so It be a little bit easier to players disables like and any many others who might not wanting creatings hate or discomfort with anyones I'm the same way I dont want hate either creating discomfort but I'm having many issues like there is less free mods like on ark first and the admin mode is not at all functioning for me on my steam playing so I cannot defending myself well since I'm getting killed either straight loging on or while I'm recoltings what I needing to doing my armors to be less vulnerable I'm playing on the first map the second map and third map #ark-survival-ascendedASAMODSHELPS

Eggs from a mod we have (Cyber structures). It was allowing non Ab dinos on Ab, It's all good I just blocked the dinos from being tamed so they still hatch, just can't be tamed/claimed
the mod itself might have settings to block it also , not one im familar with tbh

the drops on surface dont display the beam of light properly. i thought we didnt have any but they only are visible if youre there when they drop.

you can still see them but they wont have the beam coming off of them. thats been my experience

Hmm I would remove your save file via Filezilla or whatever you use (make sure to snag the config file too) And reinstall. I had to do that with another server I run there. I hope y'all fix it 🙂

hello, question about my ded serv setup - i am gettting a TON of low lvl dinos and very very few higher level dinos - i have only ever seen 1 dino at level 210 and that was the first and only dino over lvl 189 i have seen all week. i litterally have hundreds of junk below lvl30 even in the "hard" areas... thoughts?
#1 150 max level is default , using higher max level gives a much broader range for the rng to choose from
#2 cannon maps i.e island,scorched earth, abberation have naturally a built in rng preference for the mid to lower levels
#3 you can do a load of coding in the ini an change the minimum spawn lvls for each and every dino and spawn (not easy and be a nightmare i think)
#4 theres a great mod called "custom dino levels" this has many configurable options to increase the % of higher levels dino that spawn , if you go this route , read through the documentation for it and set how u want (personally have the rag type dino levels setting as that suits me )
oh #5 i forgot , it doesnt really care about "harder areas " the dino spawns are rng

where can I get help with single player questions?
I started a single player with the ASA Svartalfheim with some mods that I normally use. I decided to take some of them out and add 3 different mods, one being the S Dino mod and none of the mods I add will stay on the active list. Also, none of the mods I deactivated will stay removed from the active list. I do not know what to do. I have tried multiple times and I have restarted steam, nothing is working.

hey guys, so im sure you've heard of this situation a lot, so long story short
my partner and i wanna duo on our own private dedi server, the problem is that we have to play on the xbox/windows store versions since shes using my xbox and im on pc. now this has caused some issues as i can't seem to run 2 instances of the game (my specs are decent enough to, probably), which means that we're forced to deal with a tether on a non dedi host off my pc
what can we do other than renting a server? kinda strapped for money right now so itd be inconvenient to pay for it
Spend a couple of hours and look for a server mate, there are tons out there. Some crap some really good
What are your specs? RAM will be the main issue. If you can get to 32GB RAM then running the server and game from your PC is possible

16gb, I've ran the steam version in 2 instances before which was pretty good most of the time
Problem is, Microsoft doesn't allow you into the files of the Microsoft version, so you can legit only have 1 instance playing
That’s not how you run a dedicated server. It’s completely separate to the game files. But if you’ve only got 16GB it’s not an option.

Other then that just load in select play game and choose offical or unofficial sessions, offical sucks by the way unless you can find a tribe
Server list in Steam is for ASE, not for ASA
The best solution is to find friendly dedicated server people and both join there, depends what region you're in but some great unofficial communties out there

Okay so via PS5 if you start a game do host a game. Then they can join. They cannot use said server if you are not on. You can also go to Nitrado and buy a server through them you pay for it per month 25 bucks and crossplay it. the settings are pretty easy to go through.

If you set it up that way yes. Nitrado writes out their settings pretty well to let you know what you're clicking and if you have questions the people in here are cool peeps 🙂 They have a button to click for crossplay from xbox to ps5 to pc etc

both are Command line (launch options) so for nitrado there would be a toggle somewhere.

I'm playing ARK: Survival Acendent solo on all the maps they relased to today I can't find any free mods like the instentable tamming candy like on the first Ark ASE Also, the admin mode in my Steam game doesn't work, and I can't defend myself. What’s weird is that the character is still visible on the map, but they can neither download it nor spawn with it.

Its just commandlines, ill get it for you
Shutdown your servers, do a backup just in case something bad happens.
First add these commandlines on your startup:
-converttostore -usestore -BackupTransferPlayerDatas
Converttostore is supposed to change all savefiles you have from the map on the first time you start the map
Usestore is the new savemod
BackupTransferplayerdatas, we still dont know how that works, still testing.
Leave the map running for a few hous using those 3 commandlines, next time you shutdown the map, remove -converttostore from the commandline and leave only -usestore -BackupTransferPlayerDatas
if no players have been on the map yet, would just using the last two commandlines work?
Yep, since our map was up since asa launched, we had many many files to convert

-BackupTransferPlayerDatas enables an extra char profile backup on transfer, useful for easy char recovery in cases of crashes or corrupted saves.

ark: survival ascended +GFN
I have a problem, I play through GFN cloud games. on all maps everything is super on high settings, but on Aberation the fps in many places drops to 1 and only a reboot helps, this only happens on the official Aberation servers! I wrote in support of GFN on their part, there are no problems, all games work well, I wrote in support of ARK: Survival Ascended, they are silent! People say that you need to reinstall the drivers (but I don't have access to the drivers!) What should I do?!
Aberration is fked up, rendering issues after the''fix'' last week. Ive seen a lot of people playing on gfn having this 1fps problem

ok so here's what happens,
without -backuptransferplayerdatas
after transfer i get an,<eosid>.arkprofiletemp file
this gets inserted into the world file(.ark) upon a server save
with -backuptransferplayerdatas
it make the temp file that gets injected into the .ark file and a <eosid>.arkprofile that can be used as a backup ,
ialso have a .arktributetribe file , that is likely a backup of the tribe data .
so with this option , you get the best of the old save method if something did go wrong and the save getting injected into the world file too (which it what seems to fix the issues everyone gets with disapeering players)
hope that helps
now i just have to test the best way to get the server to take a .arkprofile an pass it into the world save file, i suspect it wud be as simple as dropping it in the cluster folder , so that the player cud just download to the map, but i also want to test changing it into a .arkprofiletemp becuase well why not lolz

We run 15 ASA maps (non nitrado), that bug was happening constantly
Bought a new server from Nitrado. Been stuck in a restart since 2pm. Hasnt even got past the installing screen yet. Absolute joke of a company 🤣

Just putting it in the cluster directory does not work, changing it name does not work .
just put into the same place the .ark save is .
on the next world save very briefly i see some sort ark_journal file(happens to fast for me to see the full name ) then that gets migrated into the .ark world save .
i removed my .arkprofile before a world save and it behaves like the char isnt there(not that you would ever do this, was just curious)
if you remove it after the world save (again not that you wud ever do it), the char is still there as its been migrated into the world file
hopefully that helps, as you can just do extra backups of the <mapname>-WP folder like normal an store it on another drive/computer what ever if u want to be extra safe

yes, I had tribute downloads off like an idiot to the map I was going to
once I turned them on, it was fine
I thought the setting was so people couldn't externally download from like single player, but no its just from map to map

yeah just the way ASA does it is weird
ASA lets you download your survivor, but upon spawning it just never does
so it grabs your character from the cluster folder, then refuses to spawn so it goes poof
ASE it would just say you can't transfer to that map
ase was same, once u have a unique cluster id set no one can join ure cluster anyway , if your paranoid add -notransferfromfiltering to command line aswell
yes the cluster unique ID prevents this
but my quote was that you can still upload/download survivors from SP
it was my understanding this setting turns this off
so it must be another setting, or its not an option in ASA anymore
this is true if no cluster id is set, which was why people wud use that line to block all downloads

it does if you want to cluster two or more maps, if u only have the one map , not needed. it goes back to before they activated clustering in asa

hey sorry for the late response I've been busy lately. if your servers aren't showing up then its either your port ranges might need adjustment or you just need to check the box on the unofficial page that says "show player servers" down on the bottom right near the join button
Hello I was looking for some assistance with my dedicated server I'm running on my pc for asa. If I leave it as pvp, it will show up on the server list for me and my friends. However, if I try to put serverpve=true the server starts up and says it is being advertised and also says it is pve at the top but I can't find it in the server list. Any help would be appreciated.
And I have changed the server listing to pve and all modes and it still won't show up.
sounds like its not taking the pve setting, stop the server , make the change in the gameusersetting.ini under the header [serversettings]

if its in there but set to false , change it to true, if its not there, add the line
save the file , then restart server
That's what I've done multiple times. It doesn't have it in there so I add it to the bottom of server settings and then save and close out of the settings. When I reboot the server it says pve at the top next to my server name.

honestly i can only think you have the in game search filters set wrong, send me the name i can look it up on battlemetrics see what it shows as , then check again later or in the morning in game when u have it online
The server name is "Screw Nitrado" I honestly can't remember if I switched it back or not just to run it as pvp for now.
last time it was online it was island map, pve, max player limit of 70, running on port 7777udp
Sounds right but it wouldn't show up on server list. I'm pretty sure I checked all the right boxes because I can find it as pvp but not as pve and I know I tried all modes and pve.
for me to see an unofficial server especially if its own hosted u have to make sure “player servers” or something along those lines is enabled, if ur server does not have a password then uncheck “show password protected” and in the console type “Ark.showserver list 0” then type in ur server name in unofficial, and refresh
my hosted server has been performing horrible the last few months as if the ping is over 1000, rubber banding and getting stuck in place, so a friend of mine got a nitrado server and the ping is constantly 300-400 so nothing seems to be working at the moment 😅

if there is even a way
never experienced any significant delay, usually takes less than a millisecond per transfer. Using the mouse to hover over the item and "T" helps to make it faster

where you have to wait a significant amount of time
also how can i make an ark server utilize less ram
There shouldn't be, if you lets say have 30 stacks of metal to upload, you press T on every stack and it will go with about 10-20 millisecond blips between key presses
its expected to use about 10GB ram per map. I would always suggest to keep sufficient virtual memory too, incase the OS runs out of physical RAM and can swap to disk. If your CPU is decent, you can run 32GB physical and 32GB virtual and run 4-5 maps with no issues if its only you and a few friends playing
if you google virtual memory (swap) for windows you'll see how to configure it. by default its something like 4GB.
Adding too much of it means you'll see little more disk IO when ram is needed. So having a fast NVMe helps and if you run too many maps you will start to see CPU bottleneck.
But the VRAM helps regular RAM breathe a little and allows you to run 1-2 extra maps.
Just be aware you cant keep adding more of it and will eventually need more physical 😉
side note - say i have two servers on a cluster, and each has a character on it already with bases and tames and a tribe.....whats the best way to um, merge that

ports are forwarded and also different but ips are the same...is it because the ip?
my server pc is on a static ip so not sure how to get different ones since i know the static ip is necessary for it to work
its likely either a port forward issue, or firewall issue which means other two are not connectable from the public internet

Query port is not used in ASA, only -port as per WIKI and this port must be UDP.
Verify your server firewall and port forwards to ensure you are not setting it as TCP as TCP is not used in ASA for connecting players

sometimes windows firewall also sets to TCP, so verify that too. Also Windows firewall could be set to allow private connection and then you can connect but others can't, so make sure the firewall is set to allow public connections
no port needs to be unique per map, so map 1 can be 30000, map 2 is 30001 etc, just increase number at end
but these ports need to match their command line bat file like -port=30000 etc
so would recommend to review each maps start command
to make sure its setup correctly once all maps are started, wait 5-10min then check on battle metrics website and make sure you can see the server name there as online and IP + port number matches what you set for each map
Ok, so I was talking to someone earlier about my dedicated server on my pc and now i have it up and running and battlemetrics says it is online but i still cannot find it in the server list. I'm searching all maps, all modes, show password protected and show player servers are checked. Any ideas?
Did you make sure to host the correct ASA/ASE server depending on which game you're playing? Also, sometimes servers can take a bit to show in the browser, make sure to type the name and sometimes you need to hit refresh.
It's an ASA server and its been up for about 20 minutes now. I've hit refresh about 20 times. If I leave it PVP it will list it but as soon as I change it to PVE it will not list it.
Changing the server type from pvp to pve should have no bearing on it showing in the list, unless your server is a pvp server and you're trying to find it in the pve server list..

If you're shutting down the server, making changes, and then starting it back up, yes, that will take time for it to show up in the list. Changing the game mode from pvp to pve does not prevent the server from showing.
I understand that but what is making it not list my server is the question. It's been running for almost 30 minutes without shutting it down and it still won't pop up in the list.

I went back and made sure that the game file was updated to the latest version and it is listed now

I adjusted the passwords and numbers of course. The server loads up no problem, but all the additional arguments I added don't work. Such as ?PreventSpawnAnimations=true or ?NonPermanentDiseases=true or ?ServerAutoForceRespawnWildDinosInterval=86400 does anybody know what is going wrong?
you cannot have the command line options ? after the flags -
You need to maintain format ?option=value?option2=value -option=value -option2=value.
I.E you need ? params first, then end with - params
After your -servergamelog you have a space then start again with ? which is incorrect

Okay that raises questions with Pterodactyl panel I'm using on my dedicated server then. Because my "additional arguments" start at -NoTransferFromFiltering Everything else is kinda auto filled in
For anybody who searches this in the future, go to your "Servers" -> Select server -> "Startup" -> Slip it in before the mods. Works perfectly now.

We are running ASE on a dedicated server, using SteamCMD and starting up the servers with a simple batch file. Now we would like to have a procedure to shut them all down via another batch file, for example to send a message to all users, that the server is going down in x Minutes, then shutting down the server. We need this to have more control, when we need to restart Windows for Updates. Is it possible to do that via a Windows batch file?

when creating a cluster id on nitrado, i think it at the same time creates a shared data folder.

nothing terribly noticeable, nitrado isnt as fast a my own servers but not as slow as official so..
id think its probably just a byproduct of how clustering works as its unlikely that one account even has two servers on the same machine through nitrado

Probably not much at all most of the data in a cluster folder gets added and deleted when transferring/uploading

My biggest thing with it is there file permissions with default having them read/write by all accounts 🤣
50gb is less than a grain of sand to a data center, id think it be higher than that anyway but even if it was 1gb per server its drop for them

Oh I meant the entire server folder. Game files, world saves, the lot. If the physical machine running the servers goes down, it’s easy to get another one up and running.
it wud make the most sense to me if all that data was held on seperate storage machines , i dont think they do though, as they somehow deleted one of my servers once an lost all the data

its not a new format just an alternate one , so far its been working fine for me.
never needed to do anything, but having figured out the backupplayerdata command its now even safer imho , im lazy an only take full server backups once every few days , i really need to sort out an automated version.

While you are on the server with a character, use showmyadminmanager on console, its gonna show your eosid there

you can put it on the ab map, but it'll be a snapshot of when it was taken on the island, so u will need to force ownership of tribe , possibly building and dinos. it will also be at what ever level the char was when the backup was taken

I make my own backups and have "hot" loaded player profiles before without losing inventory
well let's see if my crash on aberration is fixed with the non-beta drivers now
We always used the basic ark files as backup (map/characters), never seen a player backup respawning with items back without using inventory mods
21 days since I had my aberration server running
Never had that issue I make tar.gz backups of the saved folder and have a few times extracted a player profile and put it back on a server while server was still running and logged in and had all my inventory still from when it was made
so what exactly does -converttostore -usestore -BackupTransferPlayerDatas do?
Moves all player data from the .profile file to the worldd.ark file
-converttostore is gonna merge everything into the .ark savefile once you start the map
-usestore keeps doing this save into the .ark
-backuptransfer creates eos.id files so you can use as backup in case something worse happens
The backup one keeps a profile file in the cluster folder on transfers till a world save happens
Super weird problem. On my nitrado server, I get a memory leak crash/shutdown two hours after the automated daily server restart task. This is during a time no one is on and it never happens after a manual server restart or if the server is going for hours and hours. No new mods have been added either

using -backuptransferplayerdata u also have a .arkprofile so if the worst did happen its like a extra loss prevention, creating a backup of that file is then triple protection

Quick fix for those server owners suffering from missing player characters on Ascended/Evolved self hosted servers(After crashes, shutdowns, transfers or anything that can delete .arkprofiles).
This isnt ''new'', it was just undocumented (Thanks to WC, now ''documented'' on patch v57.12'), heres how to setup:
First, do a backup, you never know when something can go wrong, better be safe.
With your map turned off, go into your commandlines and add those 3:
-converttostore -usestore -BackupTransferPlayerDatas
Turn your server on and leave it running for a while, on the next time you shut down, you are free to remove -converttostore. That is used only once to make your old profile/tribe files get merged into the main file, your server is gonna be always running with these new commandlines -usestore -BackupTransferPlayerDatas.
Explaining how they work
-converttostore: This is gonna take all your .arkprofile/tribes and merge them into the main .ark file on your map, thats why you only use it once on the first time you change into these commandlines.
-usestore: Thats gonna keep saving everything on your .ark file, if it's the first time ever you boot a server, theres no need to use "-converttostore".
-BackupTransferPlayerDatas: Thats the tricky one, after many tests it was found that:
* Using it creates a eosid.arkprofile on the savedarks folder, the same way as before, not that you gonna need, but they are there as an extra step in case you ever need to do a character backup.
* Not using it creates a .arkprofiletemp after transfering, that file is merged into the .ark world file upon a server save, so no backups are created if you ever need them.
We recommend that you use it, .arkprofiles doesnt take that much space and its an extra protection in case you need.
At the first sight using these commandlines, its gonna look like nothing was changed, but trust, it's working. No characters will be lost again.

I have a pve ark ascended server that struggles a bit due to lack of memory and high ping and was hoping there was a way to upgrade it a bit more I removed quite a few mods it does better than it did but still struggles sometimes

I would be curious to know if a server owner would like to restore some character because lets say it got messed up somehow or for whatever reason you want to restore a profile and you have the backup character profile whilst using the new -usestore method . Some steps in the foot notes of this post How to restore a ark profile when needed would be great.

basically its a long winded way of saying, you just put in the same save location as the world file (.ark)
i just went a bit ott with testing to figure out exactly what was happening
you can drop it into a differnt map than the profile came from an it will also work, if someone wanted t move a char without being clustered
you can dupe a char with it too but i dont reccomend that as it might have long term weird effects , i tested that it worked,not any after effects lol
nice! so you just take the backed up player profile and drop it in the save folder next to the .ark world file and start the server. And upon starting it "imports" it into the world. Does it then remove the profile file you dropped in ?
I would imagine it should , to prevent it from re-importing it again when server reboots
i think i did it both with the server running just dropped it in as if a player had transferred to the server and did it not running too. i shud of wrote stuff down damm it , i was having issues coz kept crashing(two servers an the game wasnt happy on my pc)
now i need to do more testing , i never did check if it overwrote the .arkprofile on server save, suspect it might. i will test again when i get chance an keep better notes
I would expect if the "Wildcard intended way" for restoring character is to just drop the backedup profile in the save folder, that it would consume the file upon "import" and dispose it. It would be very problematic if it kept it there as the file could become out of date and erroneously re-imported later and rollback what it had in the ark file
the point of -BackupTransferPlayerDatas is to keep one there, so dont think it will delete it, think it will update it
the .arkprofile stays after the other file gets combined into the world save, i need to test if gets updated or if when it makes that ark_journal file an imports that into the world file , that tells to ignore that player id maybe
be easier for it to just update the .arkprofile like it wud normally on a world save
i'll run two scorched earth servers next time i test,

id be keen to know how it assures what is considered latest. If It has one it thinks is latest, but i'd like to restore an older one, it would need some smarts to pickup the "overwritten" restored profile and know to reimport it and then write it back to the "-BackupTransferPlayerDatas" file..
So some way determine the "source of truth". I'd imagine the source of truth is in the .ark when using the new store, so interested to know how it selects when to pickup a character to reimport in case of restore
depending on the weather tomoz , i will let you know lol if not it prob be the weekend, ive made a note to tag you with what ever i find out
ill do some tests as well when i find some time over the weekend. I do have local clones of all my server maps i can toy around with
@distant hearth The whole thing with -BackupTransferPlayerDatas is that it will create a .arkprofile for that person on server xfer. The next time the server saves, it deletes the .arkprofile - so unless you have a script running or something to 'snatch' that file out of the directory and back it up, it's not really useful except in a circumstance where maybe power is lost after xfer, but before server save. It's still recommended to have it enabled - it's just not nearly as useful as I initially imagined it.

Hell, my entire Aberration_WP folder, has not a single .arkprofile in it, despite many players transferring on/off regularly

ok so im not sure how to set this up i used to have my cloner speed faster than it is and its been so long i forgot how to do it is there a way to speed up cloning in the ini

Cybers Structures has a cloner, and it's a pretty complete replica of S+; and I think it's even actively developed; I'd check that. As far as I know it also replicates all of the old ini files for S+ as well; so you should be able to use that to speed it up if you have control over mods.

Hi guys! I am struggling to get my ASA dedi working on LAN without internet connection. I'm on a LAN tomorrow - no internet. The dedi works fine via LAN (using open ip:port console command from the client). I set the MULTIHOME stuff in config and commandline of the server. But as soon as I disable internet (via router setting) for either client or server, I can't connect anymore. Any advise?

Well there is not really many vids on "Getting Started" with Beacon and i used ASM for ASE and have been doing everything via .bat files for ASA and many people recommended i switch over to Beacon

beacon is just a tool to help with creating the two ini files once a server is running , its very good at what it does. but you seem to be more looking for an asa server manager/

Then lastly. In my ASA server every now and then a players game will crash (PC and Console) and when they log back in the game tells them to create a new character. They dont have the option to download their char. When i log in to check their old char still lies where their game crashed, sleeping. This has happened more than 12 times to 1 players and i cant seem to replicate the issue

Hello everyone I play on a cross play EU server. They are in the process of starting a cluster. I'm having a problem transferring from one to another map . I'm able to transfer to aberration but can't transfer to scorched earth. I keep getting a timeout/lost connection any idea how to correct the issue. I've had my Internet provider check all my connections and have no problem with my Internet. Any suggestions would be helpful for me at the moment. Also I had this problem with the island map but something happened and I was able to transfer to the island and after I Ascended from the island we no longer have that map.
Is it a known issue for engrams to just get messy when you set them up with bOnlyAllowSpecifiedEngrams=True and ConfigOverrideItemCraftingCosts=(...?
For instance Trike saddle doesn't show at all but this is the written config. Some other items are not in their listed levels.

im not the best at networking, but the router is needed to direct the traffic where it needs to go, disabling a device from the router means it no longer connected to the network afaik.
you wud have to check this , some routers also have issues with nat loopback im told, i know nothing on that . can you just disconnect the router from what ever it uses to connect to the internet? thus leaving the router doing its thing on lan

LAN still worked. could ping the dedi. but i am trying that anyway. unfortunately there is no option to disconnect from the internet in my router so i need to pull the cable. BBIAB
I use bOnlyAllowSpecifiedEngrams=True so that any engrams I don't specifically list don't show because setting EngramHidden=True creates massive engram menu lag on server. I use the autoUnlock to save people clicking every engram per level and I use the OverrideNamed to set the engrams I want to show in said specified list. I never tested to see if autoUnlock would set them as specified tho, if it did that'd half the config. 😂
And maybe(?) solve some weirdling issues.
But I've got this setup and I have missing engrams, as well as engrams in levels they're not set to. Some kind of weird array bug maybe.
ok , i just use beacon for it as so much easier tbh, its done a few button clicks but engram control is prob only in paid version .

I use Beacon too and it pumps out both entries for you, you can't use engramhidden without massive lag after the first few.
I'll play around and see what I can work out.
in beacon i use auto control, unlock all except tek when levelling,
then any entry i want hidden i just find it in the list an disable it.
the lag issues were caused with use of bAutoUnlockAllEngrams=true
even then it isnt that bad, but also unlocks tek at lvl 100 which i didnt want
have they announced anything about a halloween event for this month?
Will give it a go, hopefully playing about with combinations will get the engrams back in line. 😂
hopefully, if you get any further issues , beacon has its own discord too, there very helpful there with random weird issues

ok so: disabled port forwarding for the dedi, plugged out cable: no connection / reaction from client. reconnected to internet: no connection. restarted the dedi and client (and only then the line "Server has completed startup and is now advertising for join" will pop in dedi console): i can join by "open LANIP:PORT" just fine - seeing my client LAN IP on the console. Appears to me LAN only dedis no longer work
yea i dont know , ive never tried to do it via lan, it might be due to the way server uses eos id now that it needs an internet connection i guess
try just unplugging your internet connection. It sounds like your router is no longer routing

MaxAlliancesPerTribe and MaxTribesPerAlliance?
If I allow a tribe to have 2 alliances, that is 2 other tribes right? Or is that part of 2 other alliances that are part of many tribes?
So, if i only want 1 tribe to alliance with 2 other tribes, what would I put?
1st one is how many other tribes you can be allied with. So only applies to each tribe.

The rendering for my server atleast has improved since update v53.11 going into 53.13. Things have been running fairly well no major issues. However I've had atleast one of my users show me a screenshot of some graphical problems they've been encountering. Seems textures were missing on some creatures or coming in blurry for them. Hoping whatever that is it'll flesh out with this update or soon? Been keeping my eye on these updates myself, hoping to see some more news on things of the sort.

can anyone help me set up an ark server for me and my friends? ive gotten as far as have ASM set up and all but whenever i start the server it either gets stuck at "unavailable" or it tells me "unable to query server info for invite"

You’re not going to be able to do anything without port forwarding. I’d google your router make and model and port forwarding because likely somebody has made a video.

once you are comfortable with your server management process, you could look into tools like rcon if you are not already using it.
it allows you to run remote commands to servers. For example instead of having to log into all your maps and enabling cheats and running these commands manually, you can just make a .bat file similar to your startup file
Example: rcon -a <ip-address-of--server>:<rcon-port> -p <admin-password> saveworld
Note rcon is TCP where game is UDP and you need to enable RCON and provide each map with unique tcp port to use it , i.e ?RCONEnabled=True?RCONPort=20000

Is anyone else having issues with Deinosucus spawning? I have both the offical and the modded versions on our servers, but I have blocked the modded versions from spawning. The official version should be spawning and they do now and then but they are very, very rare.
You’d be better converting the mod ones to in game and then removing the mod.
The issue is that the mods have the different variants that the base game once don't have. Our community want the modded ones as well as the official ones
But it shouldn't be an issue because the blueprint for the official ones have ASA in the name and the modded ones have AA in the name
Does someone maybe know how to become a server stable or crashless with highest usable difficulty, so OverrideOfficialDifficulty=1531? I want that all dinos spawn have there maximum possible stat points = 255 per stat, and because wildcard removed with one of the last patches the stat point overflow, it should be now possible. But such servers are extremly crashy, with a savegame they mostly crash everytime on startup with -ForceRespawnDinos command, without this command they crash randomly, i think when server let respawn wild level dinos with this minimum and same time maximum level. I tried also CustomDinoLevels mod, setting OverrideOfficialDifficulty=52 and MinLevel and MaxLevel=30, but of course also very much crash happens. Relative stable is with this mod OverrideOfficialDifficulty=30 and MinLevel and MaxLevel=30 but... its not the goal from me (and i dont want change resistance or damage multiplier, by the way)

before at 1x rate cuddle it took like 14 or 15 minute between the intervals now its almost 8hrs
i think there is a bug in these settings i set interval to 0.5 and its about 7minutes but i started the game at 1.0 and it was 8hrs
but it does not change the time interval on a baby dino that was already claimed before you changed it

I have an ark survival acended server on linux that im setting up, im new to linux can anyone help me find the config files, the guide im following says they should be at these locations

and i also says the location is inside of this /var/lib/docker/volumes
ini files normally dont show up till you start then stop the server
those file paths are relative paths, not full paths and they will be inside a docker volume
Your best bet is to look at a docker compose file if they provide one to see where the mount point is. Or use the docker inspect command on the container ID of the server when its running to get the volume mount point. Then you will know where it is inside the container and can use docker exec command to get in

easiest way is to make yourself part of the docker group
you'll need to be able to use sudo
sudo groupadd docker
and then sudo usermod -aG docker $USER to add yourself to docker group and you should be able to cd into those paths
if you cant use sudo then you need to read up how to add your account to sudoers group so you can use it

those are the only ways sorry, either you have sudo, or use the docker group , or you have to swtich to root with su -i which is not recommended to run as root. Docker is owned and run by root system which is why you need to be in the docker group to access those files.
I looked at mschnitzer's guide, and the docker installation method is not ideal. That guide should have pointed to docker website because the apt packages for docker in some of those operating systems are not latest and often have a lot of issues.
Even docker themselves dont encourage those packages and point to their own apt sources lists.
Personally if i were you i would uninstall docker and follow the official docker installation methods to get the proper binaries

Basically docker just makes it easier to run a program, because it has all the dependencies like proton and things that ark needs to run in linux using windows binaries because there are no linux installs for ASA at the moment.
Now docker has its own files, so when you run the container using the guide the ini config files you looking for are inside the container.
They will be on your system at /var/lib/docker/volumes/asa-server_server-files-1/_data/ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer
because the mount point is under /var/lib/docker/volumes/asa-server_server-files-1 on your host
Then you can access the server files there
Your issue is you cant access it because docker is owned by root by default.
If adding yourself to docker group does not work, then your docker installation is not working correctly.
I've seen a ton of issues using default linux package managers to install docker and would recommend the official docs
Id reinstall docker and make sure it works properly, if you cared about it. because other things may give you issues down the track too.
Uninstall and reinstall you may lose the server files of asa and may need to install again

before even starting the ASA container, the official docker docs has a test docker run command and also you can try cd into the /var/lib/docker etc after adding yourself to docker group and make sure it works because going down the ASA path
make sure to log out and in after adding yourself to the group
or you could do a ls -la in the /var/lib folder and see what user/group that owns the docker folder and add yourself to that group
it will be root user and docker group by default if docker was installed correctly
if its a apt install on ubuntu its going to be root root
ive had developers have this issue before. The mschnitzer guide indicates to install docker-compose in the installation.
This is not correct. Docker no longer supports the docker-compose binary and compose has been migrated into docker itself
It used to be docker-compose up to run, now its docker compose up to run.
Installing the way that guide indicates will break the docker installation

If you google docker install ubuntu and first one from Docker Docs Install Docker Engine on Ubuntu then have a read through that, go down to Installation methods and there is a Use a convenience script. option which they provide. This would help get it installed.
But first uninstall what you have with apt remove docker docker-compose etc to make sure all is cleaned up before you install

just looking at it, and it seems the volumes folder is only accessible by root to protect docker volume data, so you can access other place but not this.
In a terminal you can use sudo -i switch to root to access those files
Or if you work inside the container, you can use docker exec to go inside the server container as described in that guide

Then you can access the ini cat server-files/ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini

it's odd bc I have a similar line for NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="FireLion_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="Megalosaurus_Character_BP_Aberrant_C") to replace the Pyros on Ab with the Ab Megalos

that was the first way I tried. It stopped therizino spawns, but didn't actually replace them.

nope, had 1 crash since launch which happened recently in recent patch
after some reading, probably the only reason that line looks like it's working is because pyros and megalos share a spawn container in the first place on Ab. It stops spawns, but the line itself is partially broken in ASA for whatever reason and is extremely inconsistent in actually replacing.
A mod is needed for full replacing. 🥲

ahh yeah I was trying to avoid using more mods, since I wasn't happy with having to log into each map to block spawns with Spawn Blocker and then a second mod to swap the pyros
I had to do a wipe bc of a corrupted mod taking out my saves, so I've been looking at reducing my mods where possible
that's exactly why I'm being paranoid about what mods I install. CT makes four total for me
On top of npcreplacements you also need to add the incoming Dino to the spawn container
And if you're playing on a dedicated server you can use plugins to adjust spawns server-side instead
NPCreplacements has rarely worked correctly when trying to swap spawns, but it does work for simply stopping spawns most of the time

Spawn Blocker does remove the pyromanes from Ab, I use it on mine. I don't use NPC
If you do want them replaced with megalos, it is better to use one of the pyromane mods, imo

club ark servers are standalone, do NOT add that mod to your main server it will likely crash it or change the map to club ark
and for the rewards, summer bash skins and stuff. will i need the summer bash mod on my main server?

It will wipe an established map. Thats what he means, dont add it to an established map.
Yep make a brand new server instance you can link it to the other maps with cluster ID settings but by no means add that to another map config line
And for people that use nitrado it means you have to rent another map service
luckily with the way asa stores save data for each map seperate, its not the end of the world adding it, but best to save the hassle an not add to a running map hehe 🙂

each maps requires its own server , or server instance depending how its setup , each map/server will use approx 8-16gb ram depending on player count/mods used etc

no , if you only had one server , who ever runs it wud need to know how to copy/move the player data over or you wud have to start with fresh chars on the new map
its less complicated than it sounds but you do need a basic knowledge of pc file paths and how the data is saved in ark

ark data (items, dinos, and uploaded survivors) will work normally as long as the cluster is setup even if you only host 1 at a time.
its just the transfer button that doesn't work.
you can just host the 2 servers when you want to transfer as well. it shouldn't cause too many issues if the PC can run ark in general.
just start the second server, transfer, close the first server

So - I had something weird happen to my Center server. I applied the update, and normally ... 30 mins or so and you'll see a server dump all the memory as it puts things into stasis. The Center didn't. So I tried logging into it, and it started destroying things - lagged me out and crashed the game - but it sounded as if every tame on the server had been spawned right on top of me. So I start looking deeper - The .ark save files, over the course of 2 days, had ballooned from 119mb, up to like 450mb! I'm glad I do daily backups, because the last good save file was from 3 days ago :[

anyone with crashing after the minor version update that dropped earlier today?
Can someone tell me what I need to configure so that snapped structures also decay after a certain amount of time, and that the decay timer is shown? It works with unsnapped items, but I've tried everything and can't get it to work with snapped items. I have several inactive bases on the server, and it would be good if they would decay automatically after some time, so the server stays clean from unused structures.
I don't see how that has anything to do with it? It wasn't wild dinos that were on me, it was every tame on the server.
the update broke a mod, ATJ's Creature Additions, the fix is hopefully to turn off spawns of a couple of creatures, which is in the mod discord. I right now have it inactive on my servers
Yo, need some help, my friend is running a server on the windows version of ark with nitrado and we are trying to increase the wild dino level cap to 300, looked it up and people are saying to put OverrideOfficialDifficulty=10 into the GameUserSettings, we have restarted the server and dino wiped multiple times but no luck? Does anyone know what we can do?
Having a similar issue with the following:

All 3 lines added to GameUserSettings.ini
I have changed the message of the day to confirm other things are working.
stop the server , wait 5 minutes , go into the gameusersetting.ini, look under the header [serversettings] the lines may already be there, if so alter the values, if the line isnt there only then do you add it . save the file , wait a minute, restart server , in game do a wild dino wipe whilst looking at a wild to confirm the wipe works
You will both need to check under that header incase you have put duplicate lines in there by adding lines

there is if you own the game through steam on the same machine you want the server on, using steams dedicated server tool , its better to do through stmcmd imho. Any particular reason you dont want to use stmcmd?

Make sure that one person has player server box checked in bottom right of join screen if it's a self hosted it won't show unless checked and maybe have them screenshare with you so you can see if they doing something different

Normally right click on the bottom right icon of your antivirus ( in my case its norton) and in the option i can desactivate the firewall for 15 min

I always suggest doing that as nitrado u/i is notoriously lagging and changes dont always take effect if rushed(the wait times matter). Your issue is somewhat unusual as its more than one setting which is why i also suggested looking in the ini file to check there under the correct header and to look for duplicate lines. (i dont know what lines are already in a nitrado ini's by default now a days but many people come here after "adding lines that are already there" causing issues)
for double confirmation you can copy paste the ini from the server itself, send it me and i will take a look at it for you too, extra set of eyes an that, its easy to miss things , we've all done it at some point , typo or duped a line etc .
Once the basics are confirmed those issues can be ruled out , prob shud of asked if it was ase or asa ? i know nitrado can be a bit funny about overwriting the actual ini lines with whats set in the general settings on ase if you switch back an forwards between expert an normal mode .
next step wud be to look if any mods cud be an issue ... not that i can think of any that wud do that tbh
with such an unusual issue its just a a matter of taking logical steps or relying on noitrados wonderful support lolz
This is an auxilex server, not a Nitrado one. I was having too many issues with Nitrado connections, so I migrated.
I did use the search function to confirm I didn't double line.

eeek , thats ermm risky tbh, nitrado have sole rights to asa server providing for like 3 years or summit . unless self hosting and installing the server files your self!
none the less , there all pretty much the same thing, never heard of that site, so id check through the general settings page first if they have one an make it match what ure doing in the ini , incase there somehow overwriting it
generally you can tell if there overwriting the ini files though as after starting and then stopping the server the ini files will have reverted back to before you made changes

yea my internet is awful so i cant self host, just run a couple servers at home for myself at the moment for messing about and testing stuff
you will want to check the command line for starting the server as anything in that will override ini file settings

The drops have been since map drop without this issue. It is recent. Guess I need to review all of them to see if there is an issue
yea , if u have anything set to crazy it tends to break things over time , especially if you satrt adding mutiple tghousands of things to drops
any modded items added to drops might also cause issues after updates , that sort thing
Nothing crazy. Whites are a metal starter kit and white ringed are kibble set. Artifacts all contain all boss fight items (to prevent cave blockers stopping boss fights)

i wud try without any drop changes , if no more crashes you have narrowed down a bit further

asa = ark ascended ase= ark evolved , they have very different requirements ,
not only do you need a half decent pc , you also need good internet , be able to port forward router, windows firewall and any anti virus/malware software u may or may not use.
then u will need to learn how to setup the server ini files to how u want if u dont already know
ASE and I have ran other servers for other games on here, I did the port forwarding already, I just dont know how to use SteamCMD and the setting files and what to put in them
