Appreciate you trying to help, so currently I’ve only played island, I enjoy the simplicity of it. Hosted a server with a few friends but they don’t play much anymore.

Ideally I want a server that has some pvp element, a bit of life so you never know what you’ll find.

In the past, I was super annoyed about logging into a official server, getting built up to stone in a good spot and then just have my base recked soon after by someone with a huge flame coloured Webern thing from another map that I simply could not compete with 😂

Normal dinos cap at level 450 on official servers, and x and r variant dinos (anything from Gen1 or Gen2) cap at 500. So technically yes, but also technically no.

The "technically no" part is that all dinos get a max of 88 levels from experience. It used to be that normal dinos would get 70-something, then genesis variants would get the 88 but it got changed to everything can get up to 88 levels.

the only thing different about tek dinos is 1) they look cool; 2) they can have a potentially higher level in the wild. tek dinos can be tamed up to level 180 wild.

Hard agree with JC, I think that if spinners are involved in a fob both sides should be dev wiped. It's not fun, it ruins the game, and based on my personal experiences where attacking fobs are dev wiped and defending tribes just have their spinners banned, it indirectly incentivizes cheating.

I'm going to repeat myself: if someone is spinning in a tribe, the tribe should be dev wiped. Full stop. It doesn't matter if they're at a fob attacking a tribe on their home server. It definitely shouldn't matter that a defending tribe has a couple of spinners. If someone is hacking and actively aimbotting, the whole tribe should be dev wiped. The end.

your best bet is to either meet people ingame or go to things like shop discords that trade for ingame and other smalls community discords

ingame will be harder if you want to build up on more valuable servs like centers, gen1s and the like
but if you just want to get started and are willing to build something less valued like a spot on ci or valg then you can probably just float around those maps and try make friends through global
