i used 10 4-6k hp megatheriums with 400-600% melee unsaddled except for the one i was riding. mind you, the settings i use means beyla has 2x the hp and deals 2x the damage, so you can basically half that and it'd still work. the main megatherium is the one youre riding, it did 50% to beyla while the rest died

mutations is RNG (but percentage !! ) based, so the only way to get a guaranteed mutations is having enough females/eggs per mating cycle
Chance of any mutation happening is about 7% (below the counter, which will come in place if u stack a certain stat typically) and when one parent is above 20/20 mutations the chance drops by 50% to approx. 4% (rough numbers)

so you basically have a 1%ish chance of a mutation happening in one desired stat (like melee) before a parent is at 20/20, and 0.5% once one parent is above the 20/20 counter

tldr: mutation chance is pretty low, and drops further after one parent hits the 20/20 cap. meaning u need many females/eggs to increase the chance per mating cycle.

griffins are pretty much only tameable by traps as they take alot of arrows/darts to knock out, even with capped guns (the higher level, the more. low levels might work with net only even)
just get like 5 or 6 dino gates which u place behind each other to build some sort of "tunnel", with one gate to close in the front and one in the back, once it is inside

can replace the last gate at the end with spaced out pillars that will only allow a small ptera through it (for example) but not a large griffin, so trapping them becomes easier and u only have to close one gate

i think i did use an argy trap with pillars some years ago on rag even (and to catch griffins on top, in another location) I think u cannot have them snap together, like when building you have to look up and switch to k-mode to place them "freely" but i always build things like this so i dont have to run around trying to do like 3 things at the same time 😂
so glad about tek gates nowadays tho, the individual closing settings/times are a godsend xD

now that i think about the pillars at the end, there might even be a better/easier/cheaper solution nowadays with those "new" double door frames
iirc pteras can fly through them, but nothing bigger, so if that works it would be way easier for placing/finding the perfect spacing. starting my pc now to test it xD

If you would like to tame the spino you can easily trap them with small stone dino gates by luring it into a box of 3, and place a fourth behind it, after that, you can just kill or tranq it and it can't get you

you need element to make a replicator. ele shards can't become element without one. beating the 3 small-bosses gives 30 element each (one has 2 in the arena, making 4 total. not sure if both give 30 element)

I dont understand how this game is even playable. Every time I tame a dino, it up and dies. We're stuck on the footpaw because between alpha raptors, titanoboas, and crocs it's just impossible to leave. We're really struggling to figure out how to progress. Every step is followed with 3 steps back
