Hi, i started playing ASE (on steam) a couple of days ago and some textures loading pretty slow i notice this mostly on trees/leafs, when i stay close to the tree the leaf textures get better after few seconds and when i walk a few steps away from the tree they get ugly again.

MY PC specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 5 7500f

GPU: RX 9060XT 16GB

Ram: 32GB DDR5

game is on a 1TB SSD with 6000 MB/s Read and 5300 MB/s Write

Driver is up to date

Its better to transfer on body but make to have bed and vault/storages near upon spawning on your bed.

The LOD system that ASE has was like this. You get close and textures are crisp. You go far away from trees, etc, the High res textures swap to lower for better performance.

You might just have to mess with settings more. I forget how the game looks now and settings since i play ASA now.

Your specs are perfectly fine for ase. Its not cpu but your settings. The lod sucks on ase. High resolution will look good until you walk away because as someone said it will swap them out for low res as high res is not needed for far away. Are you running sp? If you are that will be part of why things are slow. It takes time for your cpu and video to cache it all. What resolution are you running?

i just beat boss and client crashed as i was being teleported back in. when i got back all my dino's were there etc and i can "unlock" the tek replicator engram, but each time i reopen menu the engram again shows a red zero next to it and allows me to unlock again. but Tek Replicator isn't showing up in fabricator... did i get cheated yet again?

You craft it in an obelisk not a fabricator, so try there. Other than that yes you may have gotten arked

Chatbox disappearing
My chatbox stopped showing up when people typed something, so i disabled auto-hide, so it's always on screen.

Problem now is that whenever someone types, the chat disappears. Even if im actively typing in chat, it will cancel anything i've written and remove itself. I have to hit ESC, then back to game, then enter again to even get it back up.

Any suggestions?
My settings via the UI is "Chat Filter: All" and Auto-Hide disabled.

Just had a message and some vids from players on my server. Looks like we have some invincible wild dinosaurs running around causing chaos. They are all spawning in showing level 1 but are absolute demons, killing everything they come near.

The spawn is perfect except everywhere on the island including the castle there is a very annoying constant wave crashing sound. my first guess would be something is goofing up the attachment on grab and the client player is never getting it replicated to their end, so movement loses it's mind

some internal settings may have been changed, but the general shadow accuracy is impacted by a lot of stuff, and the way shadows are calculated just hates small moving objects

mess with the shadow and global illumination quality options. also, higher resolution produces better raytraced lighting, in general

at lower raytracing levels, there is simply not enough data to sanely shadow foliage

I had a similar issue in a recent patch. Turn off framegen if you have it on. Lower shadow quality to minimum. See if either helps. One of those two definitely helped me, I can now run it on high settings with 60FPS and epic on like 40

(The server report channel when you go to fill out the form seems to indicate it's only to be used for when servers are offline for more than 15 minutes) our server has been continually having awful ping, (Literally the highest of every official server) for quite some time now, it will climb until it crashes, come back online, then be good for a while, but it keeps happening.

(10 days ago it was so bad that the server saves were corrupting, so for over an hour, every 15 minutes it "rolled back" to the last viable backup)

I believe it is set by the server admin. My reasoning for saying that is the render distance seemed to have been reduced on rag when the server went from 100 concurrent users to 70 concurrent users. Perhaps there was a hardware / resource downgrade on the server at this time.

that is a connection issue, definitely. you are DCing before you even fully load, it just takes the game a while to give up. could be a lot of different causes, from poor server performance to something specific like a bugged item or inventory breaking it, or just shitty internet

Is voice and text chat ever going to be fixed?

It was great in ASE, but ASA it's voice chat sometimes doesn't even work at all, proximity voice will bug to hear players across the map occasionally, directional voices are nonexistent, and text chat only occassionally works as well. The game has been out for over a year. Are these bugs ever going to be fixed?

that is a really peculiar error, looks like a conflict between data in your savefile and the current game files for what i am assuming are the debris items the volcano spits up. have you verified the game files or reinstalled rag?

it could also just be corruption due to hardware issues, or other random problems

that is not how computers work. nobody can help without the exact error message and your computer's hardware specs, though

if you dont remember the error, open windows event viewer and look for the most recent error-level event in the system section that is not DCOM-related, from around the time the crash happened

Official ASE servers were shut down a couple years back now. The only ones that exist are for Aquatica like you saw and those will shut down eventually as well. For ASE you’ll still be able to play the maps on unofficial servers just not official.

Yeah if you’re playing single player your save file will get bigger as you progress. As for the resolution issue I’m not sure on that one, just make sure it matches the resolution on your laptop and it should be fine.

This is happening to me also. Has been for a week now. I found if you kill yourself as soon as you spawn in and stay dead for about 3-5 minutes before respawning it stops and you can play. However! If I open an obelisk, transmitter or drop it will immediately crash my game

Hey, can someone help? I'm having a strange red fog/lighting bug on ARK Survival Evolved: Extinction on PC (Epic Games).
When I join the map, the whole screen becomes red, like a red mist or filter, and it stays permanently.
It's not the normal red tint bug – menus and inventory are not red, only the world behind them is.

I have this problem but only after I go into my inventory. Hopping a few/dozen times seems to knock me out of it. Alternatively if you have the ability, use the fly command and then the walk command. That might temporarily fix it also.

IMO official. If you read the group there are many issues with mods. Some are totally worth it and fun and change the game in very positive way. The downside is a lot of people have issues for what ever reason and post here. Just seems more stable. The modders aren’t gonna like me for saying that but it’s based on what I read.

Yep. Any unofficial server you host will never drop below 100 average- it'll always sit round 110-190 on a GOOD server

Resets to zero, or resets to some really long negative number? Computer numbers have limits as to how high they can go so it's safe to assume they can overflow to either zero (if it's a unsigned integer) or a long negative number (if it's a signed integer).

storing dinos uses a significant amount of memory. if you are hoarding, it will eventually make your save too big to load

you have to pick and choose mods pretty carefully on console, especially in singleplayer
