for rex, i would also set up a line separate from your melee line on HP, it really makes it easier to reach the numbers needed for bosses.
and for giga's, i do think they also benefit from health mutations, just like dreadnaughtusses, but not from level up's in that stat

seperate lines makes it much easier to keep an eye on it. and it lowers the chance of not getting one of the mutations transferred

I’m pretty well versed in ark but I have a green beacon of light coming down into my base and I’m unsure of what it is or means?

I have died upon respawning in my base, this is after recruiting a friend to my tribe. But in the tribe logs it just says I died?

It has one solid bit of green light stretching up into the sky and then is surrounded by like green waves of lighting going upwards

There is no player bag around but it is where I logged off at?

Could it mean my stuff is there or? Cause if so it is seemingly in my foundation so I’m gonna have to take part of my base apart

I have two problems, idk if it’s been brought up or if anyone else has had this problem. I’m PC user (if that makes a difference idk) one. Only me of my tribe mates have this problem. When I come into astra with items I can’t see any of them. I’m over weight but can’t see my items. Can’t drop my bag. Can’t shift all my inventory into a box can’t see my implant. My tribe mate has to knock me out and go into my inventory and take shit or kill me to get it.
Second: I can’t see ANY cosmetics in my inventory. Not skins, colors, or pets…. This started right after the last big patch. It’s really starting to tick me off

To the first problem, if you only placed one foundation then it will have autodecayed. You need to snap it to something, another foundation, a pillar, a ladder a wall, any of those will work.

Nope. Didn't work, but I did find a way to keep it alive with the maeguana. You set it to feeding, fill it with meat, and then unclaim it. It feeds the unclaimed baby. Hopefully when it reaches adult I'll be able to claim it. And then babify it again.

I wanna build under a cliff platform, like put walls around the bottom of it and then seal it off with ceiling's, so I've been doing a bit of experimenting in singleplayer and I legit

So I put pillars all over the top of the cliff plat to be able to put the walls under the cliff plat, but the thing is it only works sometimes, I'm usually only able to finish it about halfway before I get the "Too high above ground" Error message again

In ASE we had techniques we could use that sorta negated that, like for example with the raft you could extend its build distance with just a few foundations and pillars

there may be some bugs you could use to drop support, probably involving pillars, but as soon as the structure thinks it is below the platform, it goes looking for the next closest ground surface below it

building with bug exploits is always questionable, though

I love the idea, but this has got to be the most busted game I've ever played. Anyone else have issues on PS5 where you are unable to save in single player? It just stops saving after a while. I found away around the game wiping out saves and having to start over. Now, I'm having issues with the game only saving certain aspects of the game. It saves where my character's at, but everything I crafted, farmed, or placed down is gone.

I've restarted, I've "saveworld", I clicked "save game", I've waited 30 minutes before logging out to main menu, etc. None of it works. Any advice with the game not saving progress?

I've read that save issues on PS5 are very common with Ark Survival Ascended. Recently, the game completely wiped out one of my saves. It just vanished. I desynced the game from cloud storage and started uploading game data manually to cloud in case it wipes out another save. I'm not sure how it all works, but my PS5 pro has a lot of memory.

Hey I'm an xbox player and I've been having this issue in evolved where even though I'm in global chat I'll only be able to see my tribemates talking no one else, dosent matter what server I go on I can only see tribemates talking

it has to save the whole game world; locations and stats of every structure, creature, harvested resources, ect. if there is too much stuff and too much memory is in use, it can fail to save. the ps5 pro has the same 16GB memory as the base model

uploads are completely separate from your map saves, and issues with them in singleplayer are unusual

there are also not really common issues with PS5 saves, that is some anecdotal bias

If you keep track of the stats (such a putting them in its name/using Ark Smart Breeder) it doesn't matter if you imprint (which changes the stats) because if you breed an imprinted tame the original stats are what will show up on babies.

If anyone has experienced juvenile or higher maturity tames perishing when within range of an applicable trough (list settings & food), I just saw first hand that the trough in question when looked at showed "1/100" though when opened the storage showed "100/100" and didn't correct itself until a stack was removed (and a food cart replaced the missing stack)...

Just in case, periodically render your trough(s) and check to see if the inventory is showing properly and or have a Maeguana(s) with food within range of what you are raising.

Also it raises the issue in pve where tribes can create an alt tribe ally with their original tribe and use force fields on all the element vein and drop spawn locations. As having the alt tribe offline protects their structures from being demolished from the vein or drop spawning and being allied means the main tribe is the only one who can claim and farm the vein/drop

it is specifically a compatibility issue with DLSS upscaling in that specific driver version, it was fixed 9ish months ago. probably windows update trolling you with some ancient WHQL package

there is not really any way the game could be that messed up on a fresh install and trying to load into the main menu, unless it is some sort of utterly bizarre compatibility issue

i have not seen anyone else report a similar problem on xbox. due to them all basically being identical, bugs that happen on the main menu tend to happen to everyone

I've been breeding megatherium since yesterday and I got some pretty decent stats. Around 8k health & 833% damage, but it's stuck right on that specific numbers. Only the random mutations go up but the new babies keep having the said stats.

matrilineal ancestry is 7 with random mutation 30/20
patrilineal ancestry is 9 with random mutation 33/20
yet i get the same stats over and over again.

You have to breed with something without mutations, matrilineal are mutations from the mothers side, patrilineal are mutations from the father's side, you need the resulting baby to have points available in either of those sides in order to get a mutation, hence the common thing to do is to breed a male with mutations with a bunch of females that don't have mutations.

You also kind of want to do this from the start to double your odds of getting mutations (i.e. have a chance at getting a mutation from the father aswell as the mother) for the first 20 mutations.

Yeah ping is high on any nitrado server which includes official servers, 100+ ping is common, 300 ping sadly isn't unusual

A good unofficial that is player hosted can be 50-100 ping

What you can do is open command prompt and ping Google to see if your PC has any spikes, but the chances are it's just ark and not your PC

Has there been anything on player deaths causing servers to go into insanely high ping and just not responding for a long time? It's been happening to me and a buddy on our server its running like normal and if a player dies nothing changes but the server basically has to be restarted because 1100 ping for 15+ minutes

Well if we think about what happens when you die:
character dies -> server reads from character file -> character loaded onto map

So maybe it's struggling to read files for whatever reason?

You could maybe try switching to the official character store method and see if that fixes it

I'm having a mod issue on PC. Playing on offical and one of these mods that got downloaded keeps crashing my game. No DX12 error, just straight up freeze. I can recreate the freeze everytime by looking at a base rendering in, and when I uninstall all mods I can not recreate the freeze until the mods become downloaded again. I can't find a way to uninstall a single mod to process of elimination this either. The mods in question (Astraeos Structures, Quantum Structure Skins, Neon Structure Skins, Arkitect's Paradise, Arcadian Crafting Stations, Klinger Additional Skin, Clean Glass Wall(Sample), and Icy Winter Skins Lite. Those are the mods that get redownloaded after a freeze up. (R7-7800X3D, MSI 4070TI, 64gb DDR5 6400mhz, 2TB Crucial M.2, Win 11 Pro.)

We have a player on our server that I’m trying to help figure out how to fix his issue.

He is on Xbox. He cannot see his inventory or his Dino inventory. He can’t even see the saddle that his Dino has equipped in the slot on the Dino.

He’s tried the cosmetic issue, that didn’t help. He’s logged on and off. The game is unplayable for him because he can’t get into any inventory. He plays through the cloud, I think he said.

yes, start by having enough space on your drive. due to how steam patches, it has to copy the game before it can apply the patch

So I was in my base just doing normal stuff and then all of a suddencall of my BP's dissapeaered from all crafting so I thought it was just a simple bug and relogged. When I loaded back into the servers it's now prompting me create a new character. I've checked the 2 other servers I had previously transfered to today and its on neither of those and is not in upload either. I was able to clip it all for proof to send to anyone who might need the footage to help resolve the issue but I figured this would be a good first step

this means that it perpetually doing a tightrope balancing act over a volcano and dies in a fire as soon as you add anything that increases memory consumption

the fix is not using a series S

or use very small mods

that means not primal chaos or ark descended

More info would be helpful, platform? Are you trying to load in with mods installed? You might be having graphics overload for your card/system, change settings to low, disable lighting and animations and try again

Not all mods are compatible together and can cause crash/hang graphics issues
