keeping manual backups is a good idea

The PC Xbox version doesn't give access to singleplayer/non-dedi saves.

For dedicated saves you can actually just move the save to steam. Survivor data will be reset tho. Can Just use commands to fix it tho. It is one way tho.(I'm referring to the dedicated hosted through the game client. No idea how nitrado differs.)

Just guess work, but I imagine if you uninstall the game and then delete the folder after uninstalling then reinstall that should resolve all issues with any installation. Sometimes Steam doesn't delete all files and leaves remnants when uninstalling.

It sounds like a mod mismatch issue potentially. You could try to uninstall all of the mods through the mod menu and then reinstall them, then open your save to see if there is a change.

I don't mind spawning a few in until there is a fix or a mod but the Dark Altars on the ones i spawn are broken and don't let you re summon them to continue the taming method. I can't log into any maps at ALL. I've tried reinstalling, I've deleted all mods, verified files. Every time I try to log in, it installs the mod (Supposedly), then I get a "No sessions found" and goes back to the "Join game/mods list" etc., screen.

You may have some mod that is interferring with Fear Ascended is my guess. You can try removing any color mods for dinos, or rearranging the order of the mods, or reinstalling the update with validate at end of the command

@pinelinetrash68 Have you got friends who can get your new character into the tribe again? And help you get leveled again? At this point that may be your best option if you are on official. If you are on unofficial server, your server admin may be able to help you. We've had to do on ours occasionally, just administratively give the experience again to level them up, help summon equipment that we can prove was lost. On single player you can just do it yourself. Create a new character, force join the old tribe and you have your stuff back

I have supported this game since ASE Launch. It has been a game i have come back to because I love the idea of it, and it's a blast. when it works.

ASA has been an unmitigated disaster. Ignoring it being unplayable unless youre rocking a 4080, the issues with shit is just unreal. Ive lost 2 fully 3x ascended characters, lost mega leveled dinos, and yes i understand mod use is always risky, but fuck sake, something works perfectly, and then Ark makes a stupid change no one asked for, and fucks over hours of hard work.

the mod shows you how much storage it uses. storage is not an indication of how much memory it uses, but it is often somewhat correlated

typically stuff like dino and structure mods use a fair amount of both

i am not sure exactly what those are, but if they add a bunch of dinos, that increases memory use for every new creature loaded. if you can see it, it is using memory

bases with a ton of different dino and structures are also risky

blue zone seems to be a particularly problematic area for a lot of people. not sure exactly why, possibly it's central location putting stuff from all three biomes in view

@carmine lance please figure out this issue, I know others are having a similar issue, I can’t play the game at all because I can’t install the fear ascended or club ark mods, I’ve gone as far as to uninstall steam and all my games and delete all my steam files and reinstall them to the same driver hoping that it was a file order issue but it’s still not allowing me to install the mods, it will begin installing then stop itself (yes I have enough space I have over a terabyte) sometimes I receive and error code. I am out of things to try and I just want to play the game

That's what they always did before. After you respawn you had to wait about 20 seconds or so then the bird will appear with the bag and drop it on the floor somewhere near to you.

Do a dinowipe. Likely they share a spawn cap with dinos already spawned in.
