It's a bug, you have to log out/close the game and log back in.

Besides not being able to open containers/inventories, you can also tell when you are experiencing the bug because babies that you imprinted on and want care will show "wants care from [your player name]", even though it is you...

Also when you log out and try to log back in you may get a message stating "you need to be logged in", in that case you have to close the game.

It's terrible when it happens, especially if you are on a full server and can't get back in.

Workaround:

1. install 23.7.1 drivers
2. go to your single player and set your graphics to Low
3. set your graphics to medium
4. get rid of clouds, fogs and stsrt FPS command. If its exceeding the cap limit -> repeat the process
5. log to your server and dont change any setting, not even sound

Note: like this i have my session without crash for 1hr already

What is going on with this game? It is unplayable on PS5 now. I am crashing every 5 minutes on single player. The game freezes every time I look around. Violent flashes of light in my base (on the edge of green and blue zones). There is a giant dark purple/black spot at the bottom of the rock drake trench. It’s almost like a cloud that you have to go through in order to see the element river below and the rest of the area. The grass and rest of the terrain doesn’t load. Tip for client crashes: It could be due to a faulty custom cosmetic (CC).

The following happened: After joining, my client crashed. Usual steps such as checking files and drivers did not help. There were no problems on another map (with other CCs!), I was able to rule out mods - I concentrated on the CCs!.

The Western Decor Skin caused the problem - it appeared in the log and could not be loaded (wrong HASH value, missing file, status invalid). I removed the skin completely (also from the whitelist), after which I was able to connect again.

Since this skin is in the official WL, it might be more difficult to solve for some. So if you keep getting crashes:

• Close ARK
• Delete skin
• Start ARK and deactivate CC downloads
• Join map, remove affected structure skins (they are not displayed, but when you mouse over you can see which skin should be displayed)
• Reactivate CC downloads and restart.

PPS: It was a bit easier for us because we have our own WL - I deleted it from there.

I need some help here. I play in Single Player, on Pc. I set the Override Difficult to 6.0, and it worked fine in other maps, with The Center spawning quite a good amount of lvl 150-180 creatures, and in The Island/Scorched Earth been a bit more rare, but when it comes to Aberration I disabled hibernation, flied around all the map and in the dino search (used by a mod) in the whole map only 10 creatures spawned with lvl 100 or higher (from which 8 from them were Nameless), and higher than lvl 150 only 2. Also some creatures are overspawning, while other have nearly no spawn, like Ankylo (6 in the whole map, with 2 been Babys). Please fix this.

It's a known problem. People were losing shoulder pets on the Island shortly after release. They clip into things while on your shoulder and can get killed by anti-mesh.

I found a way to fix it. You need to turn off G sync😁 These quitters added vsync to the game and now it conflicts with the monitor technology. You turn off gsync and everything works as it should. But the picture is terribly jerky

So, about 90 minutes ago my ping on Ab jumped to 400-480 (normally 180). Thought it was just the server. Than decided to reset router and cable modem. Didn't work. flushdns.. didn't help. Than I checked other servers like Center map. Same thing, 380-420. So it's not just Ab server. And it's no other game. Tested DL & upload. Tested packet loss to a random New Jersey IP... All good.

i dont think you can change that with commands, probably some sort of lighting optimization or weirdness for the map. you certainly cant make the skylight angle change that way. not clear if it caching lighting or actually the light angle itself

but watch out cause u get the aggro of seekers while the light is turned on

u can split up 1 hard drive into several partitions which get a certain amount of the space which makes ur pc most likely think that u have several hard drives while its just one
u usually use that for dual boot, triple boot or what so ever

Hi survivors, where can I craft cryopods and fridge on aberration? Other survivors say I can do it on/at/in (sorry, I struggle with prepositions🙄) supply drops, but I haven't seen any. What I found though are loot crates but there are no options for me to craft it ( already learned the engrams)

is there a known issue about the rendering on PC , especially on Abb ? I've just come back to the game , spent a few hours on Island ( which was fine ) and then transfered to Abb but some stuff looks horrendous , certain rocks , some of the maps large metal structures and certain modded stuff looks like blurry plastic and since the update today there's also a strobing/flashing effect going on

To make the game look less blurry/fuzzy use this in console command or command bar

I have a problem on Center with the Linked Storage Boxes (LSB). They don't work - I can't put anything in them - neither in the inventory of 2 (it's only for batteries) nor in the inventory of 50 (for items)

I have two underwater (vacuum chambers) - about 10 foundations apart. Both have power. Side A: Vault with metal, robot, LSB. Side B: Vault, robot, LSB. I now want to move the metal from A to B. But to do that I have to define it as an input and to do that I have to be able to put it in. It doesn't work.

Now I thought: it's because of the water. The same problem on land.

Do the parts only work on aberration? I can't test it right now...
