PSA: Abberation is not yet released. Keep an eye on #announcements for updates.

For questions:

1. The DLC does show up on Steam, but it's not downloadable, and will only launch the game.
2. There is no confirmation of when it will arrive with the issues they may be facing with the console build publishing process.
3. Yi Ling is coming with Abberation. Cosmo is with Bob's Tall Tales.
4. Bob's Tall Tales covers additional content for Scorched Earth, Abberation, and Extinction. You can find more information regarding Bob's Tall Tales on the Steam DLC page. I am not sure for console/windows edition.
5. When Abberation does release, there is typically a delay for when it is added to Nitrado. Refer to their customer support for server issues.

If you have a RTX Nvidia Card, you can keep DLSS enabled, disable FSR in the engine.ini settings, and leave the FI setting True.

The whole thing in the first place was supposed to be to take advantage of the decoupled FSR + Frame gen thing, so I'm not sure why they didn't go with the plan.

0 is Quality mode in any case. You'll notice the FPS may not seem quite as high, but check for the smoothness...sometimes with frame gen reported frames arn't accurate.

If you're on AMD or Intel Make sure it's all true.

It does. The game is made with all the optimal settings in mind. The way lighting is done with ray tracing is way different than rasterized lighting.

So all turned up it looks great...all turned down the baked in lighting breaks. as do some other things.

Their presence alone is enough to make it dumb. They’re nothing but an obstacle for people who don’t pay $5 for one creature. Aswell as being super easy to tame with all the water. Yea its not a mod issue its your gfx card is outright hanging up. So the early solution is to bottom out your graphics settings and turn them up a bit at a time and see whats causing it to hang up. ALso updating drivers.

Another common cause is running overlay software. Streaming stuff, clipping software, nvidia/steam/discord overlays etc. Even the microsoft game bar if your pc is already struggling a bit

Hey, how come on epic settings I am only getting about 60FPS? I have an Nvidia RTX 4060 and an AMD Ryzen 7. In my Engine.ini file, I have this:

the cosmo doesnt have charge lamp ability despite having the lightbulb indicating it to be a light pet on its dossier, and i wouldnt say that charge infused webs count as being a light pet (we know it can produce light cause its in the taming method)

If you want to know how to do it, right click ARK: Survival Ascended in your library in Steam, click "Properties", click "Installed Files", and click "Browse...". you can use the scanner to extract the trait off of tamed creatures, and you can use them it inject into a baby tame to give them the trait
there is a way to extend the scan to get info on what each trait does but im not sure what it is, my assumptiong is when you hold your info button

If a char is lost in ascension and you have no backup saves it's gone. It's a really common Ark bug they've -never- fixed; your character is saved separately from your map save and can be lost in transition. I'd never, ever play singleplayer on console. Do pc + backups or play on servers 😦 I'm sorry

1 - Update Mods
2 - Reinstall Mods
3 - Disable all Mods, then enable them one by one until a potential faulty mod is discovered
4 - Reinstall Drivers
5 - Verify integrity of game files

I've gotten your issue before, sometimes it can just happen on a completely stable game or sometimes on lower end systems but if it happens repeatedly then I've always resolved it by updating, verifying or reinstalling mods or the game

I know there's a mod but has anyone tried NPCReplacements to remove Pyromane from Ab? Love it but I just can't see the kitty on a radioactive mess of a map. I'm not sure if the mod or that would be better to replace spawns.

you don't have to be an admin of the server to reinstall mods clientside. just uninstall them via the mod menu then join the server where it will reinstall them again. but glad it works now, have fun.

i was tring to set me fps to 50 but was stressing my pc out beacuse it was running it at 90 and not what i limited it to.

i was only having this issue on aberration

I notice when I tried setting it to 100 FPS, it immediately caps at 60, and I'm on abberation

does anyone have a problem with downloading mods on PC? they take forever and eventually just stop downloading, they also lose progress during install for some reason and its a complete coin flip if they ever finish, they usually dont

The first few steps would be to validate your files and reinstalling your mods, then trying to run and connect to the map again.

I’m on console. Don’t have any mods installed.

The map loads a tiny bit, I can just about see the hotbar at the bottom, then it just crashes to the Home Screen.

did this start happening recently or has this been a constant issue? it could be an issue on your end or curseforge's end. first thing is to check and see if you have enough storage for the mod(s) that you are installing. usually that is the problem

Can you roll back a character? long story short - single player. Put all my best items in the transmitter and travelled to ab. Sure as ark is broken, game crashed shortly after I got my items out of the transmitter and character rolled back to before I had my items. When i went to the transmitter, all items gone.... I need a fix or i'm uninstalling.

Dunno if it is isolated. I get the same crash but ONLY when trying to start Abb. Single player too. Removed all mods, verified files, settings all default, every overlay i could find turned off. Nothing. Cannot start Abb.

by off chance, are you two trying to connect to abberation? i'm not too familiar with console, but you could try setting all of your graphics on low and seeing if you can connect that way.

that is extremely weird, it might be an issue with the character itself?

If you have an AMD card, the latest driver is crashing. WC is working with AMD on a resolution. You need to roll back your driver to AMD Adrenalin 23.7.1. I did this this morning and I can now get into Abb without any issues.
