It’d be a shame to lose. Also, if it has a pack to go with, it becomes significantly stronger in every way. Creatures in caves can be way higher level than 150.

You need a strong mount/pack to deal with ~L250 bugs, and a good number of them. I’d suggest closer to L180 mounts - they’ll earn levels fast, but they need to live long enough to earn those levels.

Then, bring med brews. Normally you don’t take damage while mounted, but in caves, Arthropleura centipedes will occasionally hit you as the rider. Don’t wear armor but keep med brews on hand.

Mating is how you get dinos that are much higher level naturally, before they ever earn a level. For example, I have Argies and Tapejaras that hatch out of their eggs at L250 without any mutations. My next project is actually wolves. And if you have an Argie, you can easily get a level 200+ wolf at birth. So yes, wait until you can breed stronger dinos. That’ll be super important. Caves are sort of late-mid-game content, and the hardest content outside of Boss Fights.

If you want a really thorough, easy-to-follow guide on breeding, look up SeaShells Gaming Breeding guide (either ASA or ASE) and she’ll take you from simplest to most advanced methods in one video. And really, all you need to know is how to mate two animals together often enough for them to give all of their best stats to one child. And then a mate for that child. And then those two automatically have children with best stats that you can use as mounts, knowing that if they die, another one equally strong can be born.

Not possible with my base set up yet. I've got a decent sized base but the regular troughs still cover the whole base. With regular troughs you can choose specific dinos to eat from it. Tek trough is probably the same but was hoping there is an option to choose dinos to not eat from it as well.

Hello! I'm trying to figure out what caves I can build a greenhouse in. As far as I can tell, it's only in easy underwater. Anywhere else where you can build a greenhouse that has greenhouse effect?

For anyone noticing strange pixelation in ASA when moving, that had started happening in recent patches. I believe it has to do with the following setting. r.FidelityFX.FSR2.Enabled being set to 1. It is always turned on, even with Super Resolution turned off or Anti Aliasing is set to DLSS or Native. If you set that console variable to 0, it stops the issue. It will turn back on after restart though. Also game will crash if you turn it off while super res is set to anything but off. But after you turn it off, you can then set your super res without issue. Maybe FSR and Nvidia tech is being used at the same time by default or something.

Also this pixelation effect is more noticeable the more aggressive your super resolution is set to. Example if you have a 4k monitor and have it set to performance or ultra performance, you will notice it more. With the console variable for FSR2 disabled and the same super resolution setting, it will go away. If you play at a lower res with little to no upscaling, you may not see this issue.

If your dino's inventory is above half full it will drop the alphas inventory in a bag on the ground, but your best bet for getting upgrades it to get blueprints from cave drops.

You always get a colour mut when a stat mutates. Sometimes the mutated colour can be on a region that that dino doesn't use, so it won't be visible, for example 3rd region on rexs. But it will show up on cryo or with tek binos.

If you are just struggling to get mutations in the first place, remember the odds are low so you have to breed lots, also make sure the dinos you are using have less than 20 mutations on theur counter each or else they can no longer produce them. That can be checked by cryoing or looking at the ancestor tab in their inventory.

Idk where to post this so imma just ask here- I joined a friends unofficial nitrado server and seem to be capping at 500+ ping constantly which is very strange. My internet is usually very good and I hardly have ping issues unless playing from a different country/region. But this is not the case as the host is in Sydney Australia and that’s just the next state, and someone from the same area as me gets like 80-100 ping on it. its a custom cosmetic. its like glass wall or something, there are only 4 pages of them in the mod menu shouldn't be hard to find. then it'll appear in the custom cosmetic menu (left of the folder view button in your inventory)
if you are on PvP officials it won't work, and unofficial PvP will have to switch from using the official list I believe. PvE servers it should work on singleplayer shouldn't have any issues.

Aberration is generally a very buggy map, especially with the xbox windows app. Try restarting your pc, and trouble shoot with joining servers that have aberration as the set map

9 times out of 10, bringing a drake to ride on, a light pet, and 18 megalosaurus' is the best bet

Personally, I have very little experience with the master controller. However, I'd suggest a small, personal tame, something along the lines of a shadowmane or a sabertooth, then 19 rexes should do the job just fine

yeahhh that happens to me too. I've just started putting my argy in a cryopod whenever I go into a cave (if you haven't already added the ini line to disable cryofridge requirement I highly suggest doing that.)

so im tryna get official settings for my dinos stats, and I got single player mode turned off, and all the "tamed dino stats per level", and "tame dinos add per level", and ofc the affinity stats set to 1. so with mutations, 90% of the time, a female with a mutation is utterly useless

however, you can combine that male with melee and female with health, and pray that you get a male with both mutations on it

Hello, I tried to do alpha megapithecus on alpha in singleplayer, using the strat with a procoptodon to jump on the wall on top of the arena, but I wasn't able to stand on it, my caracter was sliping to the edge and then falling. Have Wildcard patched this strategy? 😭

there is an ini setting to enable cryopod use regardless of fridges. DisableCryopodFridgeRequirement=True in gameusersettings under server settings
its not possible on console singleplayer, download a replacement cryopod mod.

That part I know. They added that button a few weeks back but the winterwonderland nor the valentines event skins appeared there for me. Just the ones the community have been releasing. Now the event skins are showing up there for me and I never unlocked them.

Dinos in singleplayer will spawn when your character is in render range, so if you go to the giant iceberg in the NW corner of The Island, there should be plenty of penguins around there

Do babies consume more meat in certain stages? How does their food consumption work exactly? Just had a baby Carcha starve after I had 7 stacks of meat in it. Was only afk a little over 2 hours. I can leave other tames for much longer and they don't starve when raising them.

That's probably an alpha raptor, and they can't harvest corpses. Best way is to lure it away if you're in early game or kill it with a strong-enough tame sadly.

It'll kill you multiple times if you're luring it away naked, but it's your best option unless you're playing multiplayer and maybe someone with a strong tame helps you?

Hey guys.
We have a steam pc player on our cross platform nitrado that seems be having some issues.
His and dino inventory seem to randomly disappear, as does saddles. He needs to relog multiple times to get it to fix and come back. Has verified files multiple times and reinstalled multiple times.
He also seem the only player on our server that can't place anything from one of the mods (medievel deco).

Hi all. I have just started playing Ark SE using Creative mode to get familiar with the game & I have a couple of problems. 1. When crafting anything, I get multiple of that item even though I am selecting Craft 1. 2. When placing anything i.e. building parts, the Ghost is still visible even when I place the rest of the items back in inventory. The only way I can get rid of it is to return the items BACK into the slot & press that number again. Is this normal as it is very unusual & awkward?? I would not like to be doing this when playing a game & trying to build in a hurry. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. 😺
