We have a server and the mod is installed but there are no Gigantoraptors anywhere on the island. We have done numerous Dino wipes, and brought down the server, uninstall the mod, reinstalled the mod, and then brought the server back online for a full hard reset.

We still do not have any gigantoraptors on our server. We are able to spawn them in with spawn commands, but that's it. Is this a bug?

A "unclaimed" dino its not "wild".
It becomes a "enemy" dino.
So since its PvE you cant kill it. You can kill him if its yours, but if you unclaim him it becomes enemy, and you cant dmg enemy in pve.
She is not talking about babies in the wild. But unclaimed dinos 🙂

try these things one at a time and test to see if it helps

What exactly should I attempt doing in this situation? I am able to start a single player game in ASE and play that fine and well, but when I go to reload my game I keep encountering a fatal error crash reloading the save. I have no idea what to even do because I'm not sure what exactly is wrong? I dug around the mods I have and everything should be playing nice. Faffing with the save folders doesn't seem to fix it, verifying doesn't fix it, restarting my laptop doesn't fix it, I have everything set up to run on lower end settings.

My best Ptera has 374 base melee. The ptera it mated with only had 303.8% melee. Somehow the baby came out with 375.3% melee with zero mutations at all. I haven't done any imprints as it just hatched and have to wait over 4 hours for the first imprint. How'd it get extra melee with no mutations? Confused. Also the parents don't have any mutations as they are starter lines. 🤷

You cant. Has to be a bonded adult thats able to kill stuff on its own...Alternatively you can kill or let a bonded creature die to get the alloparental fury buff which is identical to the other buff but gives an extra 10% movement speed and seems to give 20+ stacks instantly

If you wanna see the buff affects, you can go to the buffs tab at the middle bottom of the inventory screen

If you haven’t done it since the G-raptor update, I’d recommend to do a destroywilddinos command. That way the game will respawn everything on the map including G-raptors. Their spawn zones are the same as Theri’s.

Depends on if you’re playing ASE or ASA. In ASA, if Dino’s appear to be falling through a floor, leave the area until the Dino’s visually disappear but NOT the structures. For me that roughly 350m. Then as you return, the Dino’s position will be updated and they will be correctly on the floor/ceilings.

They are a more rare spawn, it seems roughly 1-12 or so will spawn at any one time. The server I play on only had two on the map yesterday when I was looking for some additional G-raptors to breed. For SP, you will either need to kill off some of the local populous to open up spawn pools, or use the destroy command until a few spawn. The reason for that is because you previously mentioned turning on hibernation, so wild Dino’s won’t be naturally killed off elsewhere around the map to open up those spawn pools.

Yeah, it’s due to the order in which the game loads assets. It happens to me as well. I just jump on my bug and fly straight up until the Dino’s de-render, then head back down. Slightly annoying, but solves the issue.

When you are on the Create Game menu, go to the mod maps tab. Beside the Svartalheim map there should be an icon. When you click on it, it’ll give on option to delete the save for that map.
I have seen where that method does not always work correctly, in which case you will need to navigate your save folder on your desktop and manually delete that specific map save.

Hey pc players, if you’re having issues with “out of video memory” errors/crashes and or also exception access violation crashes I highly recommend looking into undervolting your CPU as well as lowering performance core settings in your BIOS. I had these crashes I mentioned above and am no longer experiencing these and so far I think it’s resolved but time will tell. I suggest looking up on Google / Reddit / YouTube literature / videos on your exact motherboard and how to change these settings safely.

I have an I9 13900k / Asus ROG STRIX RTX 4090 OC and was experiencing horrible crashing all the time. These 12, 13 and 14th gen CPUs are dealing with high temperatures/ voltage spikes causing thermal throttling resulting in these UE 5 crashes

For clarity purposes: undervolting and or changing your performance core settings (syncing all cores and lowering them from 55x to 54x in my case as well as putting global performance core setting to adaptive as well as I undervolted to 0.05) will in turn lower temps / thermal throttling, resolve crashes and increase performance. You’re needed BIOS setting changes depends on your hardware and needs. Do not copy my changes, this is simply what worked for me.

Is there a way to make it so that clicking a tool moves things to hotbar? About cravings, is the things the host dino ask for completely random out of the full list of things it can ask for or does it ask for harder cravings the more cravings you manage to complete?

because I can complete all cravings easily except the darn egg cravings so I really hope those are rare

Lastly one thing I am unsure about, the wiki makes it seem that the more cravings you manage to complete, the more of the stats of the host dino it takes over, but it also seems to imply that it even adopts the host dino stats if rhynio's are better in that case.. Did I read this wrong and it does try to pick the better stats out of both parents the better you do or does it really prefer the host?

undervolting universally reduces stability, unless it solves instability from critical overheating. not to mention those are software bugs/legitimate errors. an unstable CPU just shuts off the system or at best causes corrupted data

asus firmware is dogshit and has typically had unsafe stock overvolts for about 15 years, but at worst it will still thermal throttle before instability

well, except for the fun bit where they made zen4 SoCs literally explode last year

not to mention the same crashes crop up for people with AMD CPUs, and there is no widespread issue with memory corruption in alder lake (and newer) due to voltage levels. the haredware community would have noticed by now

I upgraded cpu an m/b from r5 3600 and a cheapo asus b450 board , was running (2 x 16gb) 32gb 3600mhz ram xmp(docp for ryzen) enabled perfectly fine before .

Now with MSI B550 Gaming Edge , r5 5600X and the same ram , will not run stable with the docp enabled

also tried a few other settings with looser timings, lower speeds,
it will randomly crash games, blue screen , crash youtube videos in browser . memory access violation errors, very regularly

Run it with it disabled ,(stock speeds i guess) no issues at all.....

3600 is almost guaranteed to be stable on a zen3 IMC, probably the motherboard firmware being funky. can you manually tune it to 3600 CAS 18? 3200 CAS 16?

something is really messed up if it wont run stably at 3200 with looser timings

you know the RAM was stable previously. the board is a likely culprit. may be worth loosening the CPU cooler slightly, over tightening can bend memory traces and generally cause wonky connectivity, strange as it sounds

as far as reliable memory behavior on AM4 platforms, Asrock is the only brand i can recommend considering. the rest are an unpredictable shitshow, although newer MSI boards on newer firmware is usually not too bad at normal speeds

most cursed shit i have seen MSI firmware do was actually on intel, a Z270 iirc, it ran the RAM at 2933Mhz with timings for that speed, then rasing BCLK to 102.31 to "overclock" the RAM to 3000 (and everything else including the locked, non-overclockable CPU)

Before the Chicken Nerf Patch I could tame them just fine on Offical. However since that patch two things have happened. One. Even without traps I can not get the mimic to start doing it "legit."

Two also since the patch not a single Gigantoraptor has spawned on the South West Island below Red Orb despite having at least 6 different nest the first day.

Other players have had limited success.

And also babies aren't eating properly unless you take meat out and put meat back in. They eat til full then won't eat again unless you take meat back out and then back in. Rinse repeat. They also seem to eat when out of render. But if you're around the base building or doing other stuff they won't eat so have to keep checking every few minutes.

Funny how they can't fix this in a timely manner but they can sure patch the new dino in less than 24 hours and make it harder to tame. 🙄

Sounds like they might have a computer that doesn't meet the minimum requirements? I've never had that happen. Even when I had an old PC. Just recently got a newer PC but it's not a beast or anything and runs the game decently and I don't have this issue when using that command.

I'd suggest trying the game the way they had it before using that command and then turning off DLSS and frame gen.

Ya DLSS is a known cause for crashing in Ark. I crash less with it off. Ark needs more optimization and I guess Nvidia needs to push out a driver for it too. But DLSS off should crash less. Also turn off menu transitions.

rtx stuff on is a common one(dlss,framegeneration etc), so turn it all off
disablemenutransition setting, turn it on, is off by default
disable hlod setting, turn it on
lock fps to monitor fps(hz)
foilage interaction setting, turn off (can cause little floating rocks though 😦 )
also can try this command in game, ark.vertexcountscaling 1

Anybody else having an issue with taming the Gigaraptors? We body block mom and me or my husband sneak into nest and baby keeps getting stuck on the side of the nest or in the nest. When it gets stuck in the nest it looks like it’s trying to do the tame animation but then doesn’t. We’ve tried 7 different nests several times and flown away and back so it re renders and birds move about fine but then when somebody is in the nest it just gets stuck 😅
