You won't know till you try. But if you shut down the first server, and then the second one doesn't work, you can just fire the first server back up and download the character there again

For ASE in particular the resource cost is really low. I used to host a 7 map cluster on a 16GB RAM laptop I had laying around

I looked into it but I was having troubles, and the tethering was driving us mad. I don't mind paying for a server just for the convenience. Plus my machine is pretty outdated. I've been lazy with upgrading.

you will have to test if this still works, but if it didnt have a cluster id, you used be able to upload an download stuff to single player (aslong as the settings in the server are set to allow that )
that way you can upload stuff and characther from the server, then download back into your single player world .
test it with just some thatch or a shitty blueprint first

We rent a server from nitrado but the price is pretty wild. There's 6 of us playing on it at least. We considered hosting our own as we are all nerdy guys with multiple machines but after electricity costs for running a machine 24/7 it's not much difference

You will alos want to learn how to ftp connect to the server via filezilla, so you can save a backup of it , to your local machine, before you change map. this way if anything goes wrong you can just reload the backup

Yes, Nitrado has backup saves (ARK creates them approximately every 2 hours) in the SavedARKs folder with the main file (for example, TheIsland_WP.ark). And there will be an anti-corruption save file as well. If you want to hold onto everything you need to switch back to it, just take a copy of the entire Saved folder first, located under Shootergame folder. It contains all the tribe files, player files, server config files, game file, backups, etc. Then you can reinstall with a new map or whatever.

This is probably a shot in the dark but there is a serious issue happening on my server. One tribe has gathered personal info and is trying to log into our Microsoft accounts. All logins are from the same exact location. We know what tribe it is but we can’t report them because it’s outside of Ark. They’re racist and toxic in global, trying to bring others down. I’m tired, I really love the community we built but of course there are bad actors making it a negative experience.

So I've just had to delete all my saves and set up a new single player I've got maximum difficulty ticked single player settings off and difficulty bar set to the max (1) and my Dino's are still spawning in sets of 4 instead of 5 . Anyone help?

Ark ascended menu/inventory controls

I play Ark ascended on Xbox and all of a sudden The cursor that you move in your inventory to select items is all stuttery and jittery. Also the left bumper button will not work to access the second half of my hot bar. I get the feeling that it's something I did in the settings but I didn't touch them and I also restored all default settings. I cannot hold the y button for more options next to my tames or next to my structures. It's really weird, if anyone has advice on this I would greatly appreciate it

Okay I got a question for everyone regarding the alpha tek ascension
Our tribe is running it today
We all have beaten the alphas besides one unfortunately after one of the alpha dragon fights the severs got rolled back 8 hours or whatever and one person lost the credit for beating the alpha dragon.
WHEN (not if) we rekt the alpha overseer will that be an issue on getting the extra levels?

I believe the purplerain crash has to do with the winter wonderland mod. 1 becuase I was playing on epic settings 4070 gpu rarely ever crashing then after winter wonderland mod was added I cant go 3 minutes in game on epic settings without crashing. I had to turn my settings down just to solve the crashing. 2. look at the author of the Tuckey Trials mod and the Winder Wonderland mod, DavePurpleRain.

Jiggle it around a bit. Sometimes getting into and out of the control seat can help. You can also try using the teleport console command whilst in the driver's seat if you have access to console commands.

Nope. If you look at the file path it literally says WC Purple Rain, and Dave, I assume WC Purple Rain is his gaming username, it's a filepath on a developers PC by the looks, trying to send a bug report to it. I guess they forgot to remove it. It's not the cause of the crash though

Yeah, the metal rocks contain lots of metal, but again, if you get an ankylosaurus to the point where it can one tap the metal rocks, you'll get more metal out of each rock than you would otherwise as well. I think you need like 1,000% melee damage and a full imprint to do it

But yeah, running around one shotting the small rocks with a pickaxe is actually a pretty quick early source of metal, better than going around hitting the larger non-metal rocks. You get a quicker metal yield out of the ones you can one tap

You can tame a rex with just meat, or a theri with just berries. You get a certain amount of bonus levels when you tame an animal, and the fewer amount of times it eats during the taming process, the more bonus levels you get. But unless you're aiming to tryhard it, anything will do to just get you a basic workable animal

When my tribe went in to fight the alpha dragon, it didn't take me with them... twice. I was inside the platform with all of the other dinos. By the end of the month some good stuff is coming to ark, if what they said is true about the dev kit. Then that most likely they are updating the unreal engine so devs can have more tools. That could also include FSR3 and other optimizations.

Any1 else got the bug where you open a GUI and click the search bar once but then it deslects the search bar until you click it 1s later, then it sticks.

So many time I open GUI quickly, search, but instead it just opens up random menus because thats what the keybinds are bound to instead of actually searching.

Hey does anyone know about issues with nitrado?

i help run a server and we did some adjusting to our breeding settings and added a string of code named something like "MatingSpeedMultiplier" bc thats what beacon had told us.
Now suddenly alot of our settings were reset, ive had to re-add them 3 times now and it wont allow us to interact with dinos.

cant feed KO'd dinos, cant forcetame, cant breed existing dinos. Is it possible that one string of code in the INI broke our server?

I've been trying to play Ark: Survival Evolved for a while now, but it never works anymore. When I click "Host Non-Dedicated Session" and it starts loading properly for a second, it just takes me back to the Host/Local screen and when I click it again it does nothing. Guys im confused, getting the best possible dinos on ASE was to start mutating them from Lv1 ( by mixing lv5s until u got lucky with a zero'd one ) .
Ive see people say u can now get full mutation on all stats that it doesnt matter??!! doesnt this mean a dino above level 1000? lol or am i missing something here.

Mainly asking coz i was working on a high lvl rex group and gigas because of that, and then i heard the 450 cap still exists, so regardless of mutation stat being a seperate stat it still adds levels meaning reaching the 450 cap is way faster with high lvl tames. so whats the veredict ? im planning long term top tier dinos, do i need lv1s? or i can go with just straight high lv150s ?

theres various things causing crashing atm, varies from computer to computer ,
try theese things one at a time and test to see if it helps
rtx stuff on is a common one, so turn it all off
disablemenutransition setting,, turn it on, is off by default
disable hlod setting, turn it on
foilage interaction setting, turn off (can cause little floating rocks though :()
also can try this command in game, ark.vertexcountscaling 1

count to 10 after each batch of drones pops out. at 10 RUSH sprint spamming E just make sure you are close but outta aggro range when you do it and you will nail that window between drone waves

u cnag use gfi, google the gfi item command , then 1 0 0
1- the amount so 100 there give u 100, 0= quality(wudnt matter gor gas as only one quality) , 0 = item, 1= blueprint

I never get a text whenever a parasaur detects me or whenever my parasaur detects someone. I also never get a text om top of my screen saying why stuff womt work like cryopods "can't deploy because enemies are nearby" or "structure is invaild" "too close to enemie structures" any text display don't show for some reason is there some type of setting to fix this

I have a breeding issue, so I'm trying to stack mutations but trying to set the foundation first. I've become really confused, from what I heard you want to make sure there is 0 mutations on both female and male, the same as ase however it shows 0 mutations for both but under that it has half a page roughly filled with ancestry tree on both male and female? What does this mean exactly?

Pretty sure you can breed dinos through multiple generations (hence the ancestry) and still have 0 mutations.

Ancestry for dinos generally turns out useless, I have never seen a point in using it

if you aren't using perfect dinos and don't have the tek binoculars its an easy way to tell if a mutation happened. you'd then need to find out the stat tho DesmoSip

Vacuum compartmens are glitchy as fuck wth.

We got 2 compartments on top of eachother so that is 4 walls high, but for some reason is everything above 1 wall unable to get powered on.

The compartment are drained, you can breathe and there is no water visible.

So everything on the floor can be powered on but when you build a second floor you can’t do shit…

Anyone with a fix?
