You said you googled and tried a bunch of things. Did that include hd diagnostics? E.g. boot into safe mode, check drive

it's controlled by map settings, and even that doesn't have clean control, the map just says 'what group of engrams can i unlock'

I tried check drive...it says you have corrupted files so it removed but i never tried boot into safe mode or formatting hdd

If it's a drive issue, I think that'd be a good next step

And/or install to a completely different drive, if you have one available (although I'd still prefer to take the potentially bad drive completely out of the equation)

@molten falcon you may be able to avoid a full Windows reinstall by moving Windows to another drive, either via a Windows utility or via another utility. Samsung has a decent utility, for example (probably requires having a Samsung drive tho)

Hello! I have been trying to play ARK for a while now, but for some unknown reason My game crashes whenever I load it up for the second time. I also get a different message for Story and non-story ARK's. I do run the game with a few mods, but nothing game breaking.

Weird discovery with my "BattlEye Query Timeout" errors/kicks that were happening every 10-15 min or so. I realized that it started after switching from playing over Steam Link to playing directly on the PC, so I switched back to Steam Link and the issue went away.

Anyone have any ideas on what's happening here? I'm happy to have (I think) a workaround, but it's confusing.

Yes, if Prime is less effective than Mutton for the creature you are taming.

But, you will still have the benefit of the original Mutton.

i.e. Let's say each bite of Mutton lowers TE by 1%, and Prime by 2%, if the first two bites were Mutton, then TE would be 98%, and then when it eats the Prime, it would go to 96%. Then if you switched back to Mutton for the next bite, TE would be 95%.

Sometimes, when resources are tight, I will start with the good stuff, then switch out to something less effective, when I get to the point that finishing up with the less effective food will not impact the levels gained.

Sometimes mad scrambling for prime on crystal island will have a 40 stack in so it’s at least eating something while searching for sheep etc … also - I started building a small animal pin and putting the sheep in alive, then starve taming to decrease chance of prime spoiling

I personally haven’t done it before, and my experience with rafts is very limited, however I do know a trick to make the floors of the boat level with the raft itself

You take a single floor and place it normally, then you place a pillar on top of it, you can then start stacking the floors downwards

At least 2 years ago you could, I don’t know if you can still do that, seeing as I haven’t done that trick since then.

So, idk how many people could help me, and i'm not sure this is suited to this channel, although ig i am learning the game... but i'm trying to start an ARK server for me and my mates (hosting it off a server panel on a dedicated machine, not through the game on steam but still using steam CMD). So it worked a few months ago, i reset progress and let it sit for a few months now, and when i've tried to boot it up again (with a new mods list, i can post them in order if anyone wants it) it just spits back a "lost/timedout connection" every time i try to join. Ports are correct (I have forwarded the core, client, query, and rcon ports to the correct internal IP), and the server shows up in the servers list in game, i just can't connect to it. I've tried changing my client side bandwidth, changed server side player count and all that. not sure what is causing the issues.

your server will have one IP and two ports. a game port and a query port. the query port is for the server list to pull the server info and player count for the list, the other is the game port that you actually use to join the game.

if you attempt to join a query port you will get a IP/timeout error

What is inefficient about any of that? Using the cooking pot is the early game way to make recipes. Recipes all have different ingredients, so you have to use the exact recipe, which includes removing charcoal so that you don't make dye.

No recipe says remove charcoal and @torn helm download dododex so u dont have to make recipes since it's all there and will also tell u what u can use instead of kibble on some dino's. Also making kibble in cooker is worth it than in a cooking pot cause if ur cooking for an hour there's gonna be a big diff in productivity

on taming on some tames u dont even need kibble

Ark support is useless. For lost items due to the rollbacks is "tough luck" basically. They won't help. This is pure BS now.

no not last month. the dupers crashing the server causes a 15 minute rollback or to the last save.

I would prefer that they stop the exploit that allows dupers to crash the servers

cause if you transfer in with items and tames, and the server hasn't saved yet and then they crash the server, it rolls back to the previous save where you're technically not in the server. when that happens, everything you got is gone

I've lost so many stuff because of that happening.

So I’m starting a new line and never really did breeding before . I have all 0/0 theris and just got a male with a melee mut and another male with a health mut. How do I add those together to keep a clean line . Or do I need to just keep breeding the mele mut and health mut separate to keep raising the stats

What i would do is, if your breeding a single male with multiple females at once, is switch out the clean male with the hp/melee male and try to get a baby with another mutation in that same stat, repeat this as much as you want till you got two mutated dinos with one having multiple health mutations and the other multiple melee mutations, and breed the two together then to fuse the mutated stats onto a single dino for breeding
