What I’m referring to is the setting that scales actual stat values up per point distributed. I’ve only ever played with official stat settings so I could be wrong but 8k% is extremely high. It could very well be from using single player settings as well. Single player settings do raise base stat values.

If you’re playing with official stat settings you can download Dododex and type in the values and it’ll show you how many points it has per stat as long as it’s wild. Every class scales differently so 300 melee for one class will be different than 300 for another

no, i parked it outside, it must have aggroed to something and somehow got stuck in the wall near the cave entrance. Also my empty cryopods are on the corpse, thankfully i have bug repellant to reduce visual, as a bat is next to me from a spot where i could safely grapple the body to me, i fear it might eat it. My best weapon is also on that body, in a mad rush, i grabbed a basic journeyman pistol and ammo, will that be enough to dispatch the bat?

Carchar maybe having issues as he is stuck in the trap and his ai tells it that he can’t reach the corpse, you might need to let him it of the trap and let him walk towards the corpse you dragged.

manager goes on the 4h/24h cycle the moment the initial spawn happens. the hours pass, manager checks if the population is too low, if it is, spawns a dino. if it's not, does nothing. timer gets reset anyway.
so the "respawn time" can be anything between 0 and 4/24 hours.
for most spawners this isn't a reliable metric as they'll count a lot more dinos than they spawn on their own.

Final update to this situation, I have my thyla out of the wall now. @slate void I also just started mutating my megatheriums on my own private server. My suggestion would be to follow SeeShell's breeding and mutating guide on youtube.

She's very knowledgeable and it's very cut and dry on the steps to take and how to do it. But short answer would be to mutate each stat you want 20 times and then breed the final 2 (the 20/20 mutation ones) to get a pair to breed all the dinos off of.

Depends on the mount, I haven’t been knocked off of a tusoteuthis, basilosaurus, sarcosuchus, baryonyx. Those are tames I went to the sea with and the eels didn’t knock me off. Now the jellyfish, so far the giant squid and whale have been the only mounts I tried that jellyfish cannot knock you off, the other aquatic/semi-aquatic mounts do.

That’s a tough one, I’d say you should continue building up your base, from there prep yourself and tame stuff, take on the caves to get the artifacts. The artifacts are a key component to accessing boss fights. When you have them breed Dinos to get health and melee dmg mutations (will take some time), also look through loot drops or give fishing a try to get blueprints to craft better versions of stuff you have. That is at least the gameplay plan for ark. There is so much to learn. But for now gather resources, tame helpful creatures and build up your base.

I always hear ppl say the carchar doesn’t eat when it’s trapped, every time I tried it with some outside of traps they are eating without an issue.
You also don’t have to trap it. If you drag a body to it, it will sniff and then eat it/hurt you a bit when it eats it.

I suspect you cannot start building from a platform is to avoid certain scenarios where you could build them super high up which may not be intended or wanted

Yes exactly but foundations and other structures are connected to the platform. Tek storage boxes aren’t in need to be connected to anything. They just float. Like even if you managed to “place” one, it wouldn’t “move” with the Stryder. It would just stay floating mid air

So there is no point to place them on a stryder. If you want them higher up, just build from the ground and pick up those that are below, they don’t require any ground support and you can have one floating by itself high up

Ram is just about the easiest upgrade you can do, don't even have to remove any screws except to open the case. Just check your motherboard manual for ram speed compatibility and get the same capacity, speed, and C number if you're adding sticks instead of replacing. Watch a video on it first, touch something metal first, and don't force anything.

Unlike a foundation for example, which will always move with the stryder

quick tip that if you want to continue playing on the island after ascending, dump all your items right after you defeat the boss into the inventory of one of your dinos, if you don't there is a high chance a lot of your items will be deleted

For Basilo saddles in land caves check red drops in the caves except for snow cave (doesn’t spawn there), they also spawn in red supply crates, and for underwater caves check blue/yellow/red drops. For tuso saddle look for red deep underwater crates (not in caves).

Gasbags have much higher base weight than either the anky or argent but doesnt have the reduction on weight; it does get a damage reduction when fully inflated though so it can tank things that may aggro while collecting
