There 2 way I use

Ovis and parasaur

To harvest them there is 2 way

An op chainsaw

Or Theri with high delicate harvesting level

Theri is easier to get(use the bite attack only harvest hide no meat) but op chainsaw is a little bit better

Personally in 3x ressources I get 200 hide per parasaur

But ovis is way more efficient

It is because an ovis give more resources (in 3x ressources I get for an ovis with 8k health =10k hide)

Just look at the dino and it will say what it wants. If it's a food item, put it in your last hotbar and press E (or whatever button it is to use things on controller).

Has there been any significant optimizations in game performance/disk space usage? performance is up quite a bit since launch, but if it was unplayable then, it will still be unplayable now

low level karkinos with a spino or packs of ravagers are the better options or a chainsaw + trilobite. i would go for the karks in the area reffered to as "the edge"

Karkinos are also your best source of polymer until you get to red zone but even then its objectively faster to farm them for poly

the ravagers will still attack when crab has it in claw, if you have at least 3 you get a pack bonus and the grab can only hold two at once. though i was saying initially you could harvest ravagers for chitin im pretty sure.

if you are gonna go after crabs with ravager though be careful, it will dismount you if it grabs your ravager you are riding and youll need to come up with a plan for the next 10-20s it takes for the rav to get dropped and you to hop back on.

I have ark on my switch and have been playing somewhat fine, problem is, between the lagspike and just overall poor QOL im thinking of buying ase on a low end 6 year old computer, problem is that i dont know if it will function well or if its already worth it when i have ark on the switch. geforce now is running the game on nvidia servers that have unusual LAN configs compared to a home PC, it probably cant do non-dedicated since it is peer to peer, which is basically a huge bug exploit/hack of LAN behavior that has become a feature everyone grudgingly supports
