Those are not Alpha mate, what you want is normal world Alpha Ossidons for the heads but the spawn rate is extra rare

This is completely unrelated to anything but I wanted to throw it out there in case anyone is considering getting an RX 9070 XT: I built my first PC with it and a 7800X3D and even with just 16gb of RAM (look, RAM is expensive right now 😭) it is running ASA beautifully and barely heats up. Now, keep in mind I am used to running it at like, 10fps max (i put my old 1660 TI laptop through hell), but on all epic & high settings, I sit pretty at 50-75fps, with only the very rare drop, it's great
I could probably get more if I tuned stuff with Adrenaline, but I'm still learning lol

After they fix my disconnects, I reported once. Nothing. Then 3 months later the 2nd report was closed as repeated bug report. And the 3rd was ignored again. During the outage Dollie also saw my comments, but chose not to honor them with a response. I still can't play a single day without being kicked out of game. Can finish maybe 1 out of 4 veins/drops. In 1 month in will be 1 year living with disconnects that have wasted me so many hours and caused losses because the rest of the world keeps attacking/working.
I'd rather see PvE going crazy mating random bases and people protecting their breeders 😈 #petty

Mutations, same as the normal stat, only has a % chance to be passed on to the baby (55% per stat). It will say mutations in the ancestry though, because that one just tracks how many have existed through the lineage, not how many are currently present.

Even a simple guide to proper mutation breeding is several paragraphs long, so I would suggest you google it. There are tons of videos and reddit posts about it.

not necessarily, the counter gets always passed along. the stats are a chance, thus you can clog your tames with a filled counter really fast despite not having mutations

Yes. Say the mother has 3 patri and 1 patri, whilst the father has 0/0: all babies from those will show at least 4 matri 0 patri, regardless if any mutations are passed on. If it shows a higher number then a new mutation was added from one line, but still no guarantee the old ones were also passed on

Sadly I think you probably misread whatever guide you read/saw, or they were willfully spreading misinformation.

The change from ASE to ASA is that the actual mutations are counted separately from the tamed stats. Effectively meaning you can breed in better stats into a mutated line, and you can get a higher total base stat (ASE max is 255, whilst ASA technically has max 510, 255 tamed + 255 mutated, though you won’t get that without mods or extremely high wild lvl dinos)

Basically. 55% chance for the higher stat and 55% for the mutation. With parent of equal stats it effectively is the same. 90% of the time the breeding is identical to ASE, it is only that you have the option now to breed in a better tamed stat without resetting your mutations.

this is what you do with each stat seperate while keeping all your females clean (with 0 mutations)

you gotta collect a certain number of icicles and dinos, if you manage to get all that he wants you go up 25% in taming and efficiency. after that it tosses you off and you start shooting tranqs again.

if you only need 4 attempts at this its considered perfect tame with 100% efficiency

I'm also ngl, the first griffin I ever tamed was sub optimally done. Instead of bothering with a good structure trap that I learned about from captain fatdog, I brought chain bolas and kept bolaing the thing and tranqing it with a long neck rifle. When I ran out of bolas and the griffin ran away, I chased it down on an argie, finished the job, and fed it raw meat. For anyone out there, use a higher damage cross bow until the griffin gets low on health, transition to a long neck rifle when that is the case. And also, do not do what I did, as an Ark Noob, these are mistakes that other people should not make.

Just trap it in a trap that you can easily get it out of, then go get like 3-5 small-ish dinos and put them near the ossidon. After that, leave an opening for the ossidon the get out of the trap, and tranq it until it's stunned. As long as its bolus is still building up to full size, it will not kick you off when you run into structures. Once its bolus is at its maximum size, it will then be able to kick you off.

I learned a really good trap from a youtube video and just put two gates behind the ossidon to keep it in while I went to grab creatures. To keep the ossidon distracted while you place and remove the gates, keep a creature in front of it. In my case, I used a cryolophosaurus to knock it out, so I just left it on passive in front of the ossidon.

Just a small lament; ASA used to look so pretty, with this very same gpu no less.

The grassy landscape material, once a multi-colored wonder that complemented the waving grasses sprouting from it... is now a neon-green splotch on every map. Its the same for the random crashes. Just walking along and we crash. Lots of playstation have it.

playstation has extremely limited memory, easily runs out. seems to be a mix of memory leaks and slow garbage collection when moving between areas quickly. how fast it crashes depends on where you are, overhead from inventory data size, cosmetics, random luck

xbox x is weirdly better? my personal theory is the xbox version is gimped due to series s existing, so it ends up using less memory to begin with

i am not sure if the xbox can use memory swap like a pc. it is basically running windows..

the ps5, yes. server performance has no effect on you crashing or not under any normal conditions

although the official servers also run out of memory 👀 they are using way more than 16GB

a empty/small server does. use scales heavily with the amount of spam people build and how many thousands of cryos they hoard

i have seen a concerning ss of an official server using iirc 42GB, and that is not a record

ue5.5 update lowered server memory use a good deal by optimizing away a lot of redundant/unnecessarily-instanced data, but people continue to build spam

not a big impact on client-side, where most of the memory use is textures/models

no way one server would ever use 150GB unless some insane mod stuff is going on

15-20GB per server for busy unofficials is a commonly quoted amount. you want some headroom if you are buying physical hardware, not using scalable cloud

It’s just when you’re too close to the ground. If players in PvP can hit the rider with a flamethrower, then it probably isn’t a glitch. If they can’t, then it probably is lol

He’s in trying to stack those with blood packs and something else , normally cooked lamb, but seen you could make your own food to heal

custom food digests very slow, it can heal shitloads of health but at a very slow rate

this + armor trait + med brews buy you some time for sure, just gotta make sure you kill it faster than it kills you

but also keep in mind, custom food only regens your health as long as its regenerating your food or water
