Dinos are meant to die that's why we tame them to use them to complete tasks use a thylacaleo around level 100 or higher and you should be fine it's really easy you just bite run away bite again until it's low you should barely get hit

1 is enough the bleed drains it's health rabidly bring a magnifying glass to check it's hp then when it's around 2000 hp finish it off on foot because of it dies to bleeding you'll get no xp

the server running at about 2 fps impacts ping, yes. those are basically the absolute worst possible CPU you could use for a game server

you want the fastest reasonable CPU, core count is useless

even if it did, having a CPU about 20%, and to be realistic once NUMA fuckery from dual socket is involved, maybe 5% the speed of a modern one, having more cores is helping nothing even for parallelized software

My only other option at the moment is a single i7-7700 and like max 64gb of ddr4, don't think my main system of an r7800x3d and 32gb of ddr5 would have enough ram to host and play

fantastic tames, is a new kind of dlc where you have to pay to be able to use or tame the creature, so far there is a few not included in the lost colony such as pyro, dreadmare if youve seen those you know what a fantastic tame is. lost colony comes with different ones, veilwyn, drakeling, and (elderclaw coming sep 30th )

so each fantastic tame has certain maps they spawn on, and they dont spawn in your inventory. they are wild creatures that you cant access, or tame unless you have bought the fantastic tame, but they still spawn in maps so you can see them even if you dont own it

IMO their much bigger issue in recent years was/is the feature gap with NVDIA
FSR pre 4 just doesnt even come close to DLSS, and even FSR 4 has some pretty gnarly issue in my experience (being an owner of an RX 9000 card)
and its even worse when you relize that RDNA 3 arent allowed to run FSR 4 (even though they are capable enough to run it)

The 4080 super you would have to buy one used and probably without warranty and other than having more vram it's the same gpu dont worry 16GB of vram will plently for a long ass time, I play at 3440x1440p max settings and in most games I use around 12-14 GBs
Main reason I would get the 5070ti is just because it's a newer gpu and you could probably get it for new and not have to worry about warranty.
Also the 50 series overclock pretty well, the 5070ti can reach 5080 performance when overclocked and the 5080 can reach almost 4090 performance as well when ocd

Hey I was wondering if someone from the dev team would be able to answer a question for me on the Unreal Engine garbage collection settings. I am noticing GC goes crazy before Astraeos usually crashes and it seems to be related to the setting gc.PerformGCWhileAsyncLoading being set to 0 (false) so GC won't work while async loading is happening in Unreal Engine so the GC fails and starts trying to run every frame once async loading is triggered (seems to be when server is trying to do a lot of work). Just wondering why this setting is set to 0? Is there a known issue with having GC running during async loading? From what I can see this shouldn't be an issue having this enabled.

Yeah I’ve had it happen a couple times on Astraeos, but when I build on Astraeos, some items won’t even load properly when building. It’s as they aren’t even there. I had a massive good build going and boom, things vanished Anne became non existent

Yes, it's been very buggy lately, but when you see that a simple dino has already been postponed 2 times and today it's supposed to be on the servers, I'm not surprised.
The game is excellent, but they make updates to fix things that are useless.

I do multiple times a day. Been that way for a while. I’m on an Xbox S. We’re unofficial currently on Rag. It’s the worst around Viking Bay as someone I play with built a base over there and every time I go there I crash at least once. When I had a base over there it was pretty much all the time. I also can’t download any creatures. As soon as I hit the creature tab in an ob or transmitter I crash every time.

Its a passive tame. You have to drop stuff infront of it and when it goes in frenzy mode you have to hop on and do what it askes you to do.

I’m starting to regret giving any sort of money to their products. I absolutely love these types of games, but I’m getting more of a headache trying to play rather than actually having fun.

Structures in your hot bar, ready to be placed, but you can’t because they are completely invisible. 5 min just to get a piece to snap correctly, even when overlapping is allowed. And a forum section for you to scroll through numerous tickets to try and find one that is your issue as well, so you don’t create a “duplicate.”

Will I still play this game? Yeah, because when it does work right, I love it. But right now, I absolutely despise it

Is it possible to transmit an Armadoggo from Extinction to another Ark?
Cause from what I've Googled, the obelisks can't transmit, and when I look up how to obtain the Tekgram for a Transmitter, it says you need to kill the dragon, but the dragon can't be summoned in Extinction.

I agree stricter limits need to be placed in Astraeos as player has shown the inability to self modorate the server spam for it to function, it need tame limit to be lowered to 150 structure in range to 3k and max cloners per tribe to 5. Players can either self moderate and heal the sever on their terms or wait till WC moderates for them without their input
