Just had my first frame drop after a few hours. CPU hit 100% utilization and couldn't do anything for a solid minute. I think the newer UE5.5 update does great if you're using the best of the best hardware and it's not capping resources. That would explain their massive frame gains they were talking about.

For some reason the Gamma command did not work when in the ini but will deal with that later on. The boost from putting it in the ini and optimizing the lines was almost double so I am happy to add the gamma manually anyway 😉

Neat console command protip...

Open console, press the up arrow, the last command you used is highlighted and ready to go. You can actually scroll up through your last like 20 commands. No typing ever again

There are a handful of issues here. For one, "stat fps" just displays diagnostic data on the right side, and calling "r.shadowquality" does literally NOTHING when r.shadow.virtual.enable" is turned off

After the update earlier this week, my solo play recreated all of the rocks I cleared to build my base, but they are now back in visual, but I can’t break them, I pass right through them. If I leave and stay outside of render distance for a time they disappear, but I save the game, then log back in and they are back. Visual, but can walk through them. I've been narrowing this down myself. I think it has to do with the amount of VRAM and GPU load that can be obtained. I have NOT had any FPS issues, but I'm on a 4080 running at 92% load. Unfortunately I don't have the load percentage prior to upgrading, but the game FEELS heavier than before. My guess is that the developers have super-high end rigs with MASSIVE amounts of overheard

Wasn't the UE update supposed to improve things? It's making the game completely unplayable. When I try to travel to other servers, the game crashes. If I fight more than two creatures, it crashes again. A friend of mine can't even join the server anymore because it claims no map is installed—not even The Island. what i discovered is, if you crash during first transfer, next if you target say official Scorched Earth 5819, but are on the island XXXX when you crash, go to your target server in the cluster, and download your character, to that server then it seems to work after that, i went from SE->center->island->SE main and i only crashed once

Going to fast can be too much for a machine to process and lead to a crash. Turning it off helps mitigate that issue. But 5.5 is suppose to be more optimized so it's likely to be an issue on weak machines. Series S and PCs with old CPU and/or GPU.

And this is why I say playing ASA vanilla is underrated. I've played servers with mods and the only ones I enjoyed are when it passive style mods.

But most of them like to add chaos mod, dragon chronicals, the RPG mod that like $10 which I wish I could refund cause it was not what I expected in a mod.

Those add a 50 step process to tame one creature not to mention it jacks up the spawn location intended difficulty when you first join a server and get one smacked by an insane dodo doing 50k damage.

I agree, but wouldn't say vanilla is underrated more than mods are overrated. My cluster only has a couple building mods, and some QoL ones. But I knew mods were going to be an issue back in ASE, that's why I've tried to keep mine light.

yeah I am the same, its a VRAM issue I believe, my friend with alot of VRAM is fine, if you open tassk manager, you can see its using 8-10 GB of VRAM to run the game when some people barely even have 8GB, I dont kn ow what they did but they genuinely made the game unplayable for me

and I have a 3070 ti 5600X even on low settings its pushing 5-10fps

it runs 60-100 when it decides to run as it should

Okay server transfer crash is solvable, on PC at least! When you try to transfer and crash, just go to the map you wanna go to. Then download your survivor. When you try to return to the original map, and at subsequent transfers, it doesn't crash anymore!

Hello. You know that guy everybody hates because he was spamming a step by step to get online?... well.. it seemed it worked!
So at least i got to refresh my base and decay is still on, as a gacha already died in this 2 days...

But i believe the steps he gave us. Was missing a crucial step (atleast for me) that was, when you go for the second time to your server to try get on it like described in his step by step, i checked all the mods, and everything said installed except for 1.... in my case, the big al's meraxes. So i clicked it, uninstalled it seperatly, went back to the store to reinstall it manually.. then followed his further steps and guess what.. im online 🥳🥳

So big thanks to that guy and the graphics on ps5 are actually better, the screenmovement feels awkward but it the good way...
