I've never lost a character just from uploading, but in ASE my character got deleted from ascending, more than once, before I found some random PS4 player asking on steam and people said turn off data downloads before you ascend. I'm not sure if you can backup your save data to the cloud and then restore it if you lose your character currently. PS5 had more restrictions on the save data.

1440p is roughly 80% more demanding than 1080p, usually results in slightly over half the framerate

it sounds like you dont really understand how resolution and upscalers play into it, which is extremely important? worth doing some more research.
for ASA at 1080p, an upper-midrange card somewhere between a 4070, 7800XT, and 9070XT would be more than sufficient, especially if you are using DLSS. 1440p gets a little sketchy without heavier upscaler use
i strongly advise avoiding nvidia blackwell (and nvidia in general) as it has been a complete mess so far, and the drivers are very problematic at the moment, but they will probably clear up in future

Personally, i would go with AMD over nvidia simply due to how extremely inflated nvidia high end gpu prices are. the 9070 XT is definitely a great card and super recent, i was thinking about getting one (was deciding between something like a 4070 TI Super, 7900 XTX and the 9070 XT) but got a really sweet deal for a 7900 XTX so thats what i went with. The nvidia cards are like 300-400 more where i live and constantly out of stock too.
S in short, for gaming alone, id go with AMD and i believe for just high fps the 7900 XTX / XT or the 9070 XT will easily be sufficient.

the importance of VRAM is wildly overhyped by youtubers ect. you either have enough or you dont, and 12GB is never going to not be enough at 1080p. still usually enough at 1440p. there is no benefit to having too much, same as with system RAM

and nvidia does have the advantage of DLSS being a bit better in ASA (when it actually works), but FSR4 on RDNA4 cards closes that gap significantly and should be fully supported in future

Definitely a good choice, it should run ASA without any upscaling or frame-generation at max details on 4k easily on something like 40/50FPS, and if you disable or lower some of the things from Epic to high or disable volumetric clouds + fog and some other things probably even higher, and definitely higher if you upscale or use framegen (if you are okay with how the game sometimes may look with these active)
Afterall, if you just want games to run at maxxed in 4k, and to look nice that will do

To me the minor minor performance gain was also what made me settle with AMD, finally, as i see no need to pay sometimes even as much as 3x-5x more for something miniscule like 5% higher Performance and/or FPS (comparing a 4090 and a 7900 XTX for reference here)
Its simply not worth spending SO MUCH more for a minor increase, its just economically stupid imo, even given i could easily afford either one. But its stupid to pay for something so wildly overpriced and overhyped, when your only goal is gaming

in reality, if you just want games running at maxed graphics on 4k/2k/full HD, i doubt youll even notice huge differences between the cards in a "real-life session". If the game runs (no upscalers or frame gen) on averagely 52-55FPS with one card, or 50ish with a different one, it wont really matter if youre not going crazy over numbers alone imo.
Im not sure how well backed up this is, but i think the only major difference might be Ray Tracing where NVIDIA seems to be performing better, overall, but im sure something so recent as the 9070 XT can easily handle that with only some minor cut back

It didn't start out on the map it was added with Scorched Earth release. Many of the new recipes you wont be able to build without going to a different map and bringing the materials back with you but keeping it available lets you build new things on the island like Adobe houses, or zip lines, or gliders.

The grinder on ASE with the S+ mod can craft gems, fungal wood and other items that are other map specific.. does not work on aASA, as no S+

it is almost impossible for ark mods to conflict, they dont change core game files

you dont get the sort of nightmares you see in, say, skyrim or rimworld

at worst you get soft conflicts where the purposes of two mods are counterproductive or cause weird behavior

First go to your world select
Click "GAME RULES" and find the "Maximum Difficulty" setting. Turn it on.
Then select the icon at the bottom that says "CHOOSE DIFFICULTY" and select "HARD"
Join your single player world and open your command console
type in the cheat "DestroyWildDinos"
This will preform a wild dino wipe so that the new dinos will spawn with levels that come in intervals of 5 (5, 10, 15, 20, ect.)

that is a GPU crash, may be related to this issue. i have seen several people with similar crashes on ASE lately
