I think Mating Interval has been lowered so much that on 1x most of my tames barely get 18 hours, but I don't have any gigas.

I haven't done alot of raising so idk how good imprinting is on 1x.

Harvest Rates on 1x is same.

And Taming is same 2.

But if there is a limit and a tribe is hoarding so many creatures that they prevent others, then yeah, snipe away. every day when I log in, any small dino such as otters, are under the foundation floor of the base. Sometimes, leaving render distance and returning will pop one or two up out of the floor, but sometimes it does not and the floor needs to be destroyed to get them out. There are work arounds, like not keeping them on a foundation, but I'd like to keep my little friends in the house where it's warm.

Ever since ASA was released, my friends and I decided to play on PVE and start with the whole breeding business. We want to have dinos with max stats and cool colors. The only problem is that this will be our very first time and we are totally clueless.

I tried getting help on Youtube but all I got was a headache after watching a few videos, I couldn't understand anything, not sure if it's a me problem or the whole thing is just complicated. The only thing I understood is that they made breeding better on ASA by separating base from mutation stat and I don't exactly understand how or why that is better cz I never did this on ASE xD

Any tips for "BEG"inners could really help. Let's start with how do we start? Do we necessarily need to find 150 males and females? Or can we start with low level dinos? If no, do we have to keep taming 150 dinos till we find ones with highest stats? Or any 150 will do? I don't even know if I'm asking the right questions but I guess this shows just HOW clueless I am lol

ASA changed up breeding/mutations a fair bit, theres two things you want to look out for. Base Stats and Mutations

Taming high level creatures has the best chance of getting high Base Stats - each of these can be passed on with breeding

Mutations are a rare chance to occur whenever a baby is born, whether wild or your own tames breeding. These can also be passed on separately now (In ASE, they modified Base Stats directly) so you can breed a bunch of lower level creatures to stack mutations then breed them with your high Base Stat creatures for the biggest bonus

I mean you can start with low levels if you want to, it will just take a bit longer than it could if you have 150s. Ultimately your start is to get either 1 male and 1 female, or 1 male and a bunch of females. Preferably have the male be the highest level you can find. The best process I've found is to just have the male be high(er) level, this is because males don't have a timer to breed again after successfully doing so. The end goal is to have a bunch of females with a very strong male to just absolutely churn out babies, or eggs depending on dino.

Serious Ark Ascended gameplay questions...

  1. How do you do Tribe/Alliance chat?
    Not just global.
  2. How do you see the player list?
    So I can see if someone is on instead of sending a global message and hoping they might be on or having to trek miles to see if they're online.
  3. How do you name and add descriptions Recipes?
    I can make em but I can't name them for some reason it won't allow it.
  4. Dinos aren't rendering until I'm almost directly next to them, is this normal and is there a fix?
  5. Is there a way to remove death markers from the regular map?
    I've died 9 times and all markers are on the map, I've removed the hexagons from gameplay but the pins on the map are still there.

Bugs I've noticed...
-Camera drops below belt sometimes when mounting and dismounting only fixing when respawning.
-Leedy (whale) can swim into shallows in some places where deep water is under a shelf of shallow land.
-Carno Island spawns are almost non-existent on our server even with minimal structures on it. Maybe the cave underneath is taking the spawn count?
-Pirahnas in the ocean even far off coast? (Not sure if a bug)
-Carbonemys attack double bites intermittently, odd and not super important just an interesting bug.
-Supply drop still falls through volcano into Tek cave wall, INACCESSIBLE (bug from ASE)

The unofficial my tribe plays on has cryos from that, but I will personally be glad when cryos are a normal feature because the mod has a couple annoying extra features where if you have multiple dinos cryo'd when you send one out it will just automatically switch to another one at random so I have to actively remember I can't just cryo them back immediately before switching to empty one on my hotbar.

Not to mention that also have to switch to something else in my hotbar rather than re-using the spot my cryo is because the mod as the stupid cryo gun wheel action that takes priority.

i swear to god this shit game is out to get me. whenever i try and get anything out of a supply drop and then save the game and log out, after i log back in NOTHING i've gotten from the supply drop stays. it literally reverts to the earliest save before i started getting loot out of a supply drops.

i've tested out how well the saves work and if it was a problem with the saves themselves or if it was really something to do with me getting loot out of a supply drop and it really is just the supply drops. the saves themselves are perfectly fine but it just seemingly doesn't let you save your game or something once you've gotten something out of a supply drop
