You have to pay for a server from them to have a server period no way around that. Go to their website. It totally garbage what Nitrado is doing. Also ASA is on Xbox store but isn’t available to buy yet. Let’s see how long it takes

This gives you the base server requirement without a split for PvP/PvE of 825 servers.
To allow for overspill and ensure proper time for scaling up infrastructure, there should be a minimum of 500 servers per gamemode or adjusted where necessary to ensure availability.

With probably over 57k people trying to login to an insufficient number of servers, issues will occur due to failure to find or connect to available instances.
Currently, there are 119 servers online (PvE/PvP) and due to the ongoing issues there is no real way to know how many actual servers are enabled.
So basically, 119-825= -706
Conclusion
Lack of servers as calculated above means they need to spin up an additional 706 official servers to allow all users to login which could ease the traffic on the others.
As far as server crashing, the machines probably need a "buff".
This makes the assumption that the servers are the issue
This does not take into account issues with the games code itself
This does not calculate the minimum based on the game mode, only as a total.
This does not equal the best value for money

BTW, You can still get a refund from Steam after 2 hours, you just have to tell them the serverrs were offline for 2 or 3 hours.

Multiple times now I have had my PC completely shut down/crash the moment I load into character creation. I even go to type in a new name for my survivor and it crashes my entire rig. Everything just shuts down and I have to manually restart my PC. No other games I own do this. I can play WoW, FFXIV, Cyberpunk, Baldurs Gate 3 all at reasonably high to max settings with no issues.

I have tried entering ~dx11 into startup parameters and that doesn't help either. I am convinced at this point it is an ARK issue with a memory leak or power draw problem or something I cannot pinpoint. Adjusting graphics settings does not help either as I’ve tried setting graphics to Low to get through character creation with the same PC shutdown happening.

Ark is actually an impressive game to be able to do all you can do in an MMO setting. It’s also hard to anticipate how people react, cheaters, sudden server issues, etc… if you can do better by all means have at it. Also, everyone saying “just add servers” it’s not that easy. A lot of games have these issues on launch the difference is they have massive teams and resources to combat it. Everyone needs to chill and roll with it a bit

Exactly it's a new engine for them so it's gonna take time to learn. You don't just walk into your job first day and immediately know everything. It's the same with UE5. F this server hosting monopoly BS. I just requested a refund of the game. If I can't play on my own self-hosted server cluster then I'm not interested in this game. They closed official servers, and forced us to pay for 11 more creatures which mod makers give us for free and some fancy shaders lol. And are making us pay for the DLC and game again. Wild card is a bunch of losers. (Refunded the game within 9 minutes)

Okay I am genuinely pissed at this point; Wildcard fix your goddamn game. Multiple times now I have had my PC completely shut down/crash the moment I load into character creation. I even go to type in a new name for my survivor and it crashes my entire rig. Everything just shuts down and I have to manually restart my PC.

No other games I own do this. I can play WoW, FFXIV, Cyberpunk, Baldurs Gate 3 all at reasonably high to max settings with no issues.

I have tried entering ~dx11 into startup parameters and that doesn't help either. I am convinced at this point it is an ARK issue with a memory leak or power draw problem or something I cannot pinpoint. Adjusting graphic settings, paging file limit, etc does not help. Reinstalling the game and verifying files did not work either.

13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz
32.0 GB of RAM (31.9 GB usable)
AMD Radeon RX 6900XT

I am not the only user with this issue either, I have received multiple DMs from other players citing this exact same problem. Please listen Wildcard devs and address this!
