Not technically because what defines them as bosses is the fact that you have to summon/teleport to them and you can’t ascend till they are beaten

I'd say what defines the boss is that it gives benefit for killing it and a visual representation on the implant. Three of those don't do that. And you don't have to kill the titans to ascend, as far as I am aware, only the king titan.

You're gonna want to knock the animal unconscious (there are some exceptions), either by bludgeoning it with a wooden club, launching rocks at it with a slingshot, or using tranquilizer arrows/darts.

Then feed it berries (purple ones work best) if it's an herbivore, or raw meat if it's a carnivore by inserting those respective foods into their inventories while unconscious

I'm primarily heading to the mountains so I can finally get my hands on crystals, obsidian, and a large supply of metal (as opposed to mining scant amounts of it from river rock)

everytime an offspring is produced, it inherits either stat from a parent. say you have 2 rexes with 1500 hp and the other with 2000, the baby has a 55% chance to inherit the higher stat, which is the 2000 health and 45% for the 1500. the offspring also has a 7.31% chance to get a mutation, which gives it a random colour to a random region, and also adds +2 points to a random stat.

I got walled hard by Redwood twice (first time one paracer and a trike, then second time two paracers, one bronto, and one stego. At least the second Redwood walling had no casualties besides my shotgun and the 41 shells i had for it), and I don't want the same to happen in the mountains or (eventually) the snow

In early Game I used to have a Raft trap, multi purpose had storage and could catch dinos if needed and also had spawn point… get that as close as you can to where you’re going…

Then fly to and from say Grand Hill, I gather you’re going for Resource’s, an Argy decrease the weight of the resources you are likely to find on Grand Hill 👍🏼

I used to do this with Volcano on Obsidian and Crystal runs

probably not, the redwoods is the most carcinogenic biome on the island so avoid it at all costs. you can use a raft to get over the carno island and tame one there or go to one of the smaller mountains like the eastern one

I’m on The Center at the moment doing a quick Cave run through and Boss Arena… Dinos spawn quite High lvl and frequently… I’ve spent so long on The Island I think I’ve almost killed the entire map and they’re getting scared to Spawn 😂

They survived when they were left alone smack dab in the middle of redwood when I died on my first expedition to get past it.

Sure, everything on my person was lost because the handbag eventually decayed, but everything on my dinos inventories was still intact

Since then, I learned to always wear metal armor and/or clear the immediate area if I want to skin a dead diplo when crossing the redwood

You will no doubt be riding one of them, the Thyla will aggro you, maybe depending on your Dino Behaviour setting, say Passive, maybe it didn’t aggro the Thyla or it could be a size thing… I’m going to check my notes on this one

I mean, the stegos and pacers and brontos (previously stego and pacers and bronto) are my bodyguards. They're there because I don't want to be caught defenseless when traversing such dangerous territory.
If they're not viable for the mountains, then their main purpose was to cross Redwood so I can setup base on the river bank.

Later on I used a Quetz with a Platform, carried 2x Beavers, 2x Ankys and 2x Deods over to the Volcano and anywhere else safe enough, loaded up each of the Dinos with Resources because they each reduce Weight on various Resources and then flew back home… Now that avoided all dangers 👍🏼

Literally Hundreds… but 100-200 of each is going to get you started, don’t carry the lot with you incase you get Murderised… also the weight can be a bit much, this is why I have Belt, Mr Otter, Mrs Otter, Otterly Crazy

Otters reduce weight of inventory and can carry more than One Artifact so it’s really useful… obvs there are plenty of other shoulder pets also but Otter is the only that can carry more Artifacts

Sadly, the Official server are about to close (September 29), but the new version of the game on unreal 5 is supposed to be released almost at the same time. The game will still be playable on unofficial and single player.

its like common mistake of newbies, they always try to retreive their lost loot. Typically what do you have on you? some armor, tools and whatever you got from supply crates along the way with maybe bunch of materials?
Just forget it, make a new stuff, by the time you get there you most likely will be able to craft all you had.

typicaly later in game if you wipe on boss or just die randomly to game bug (and gosh, game have lot of those) you are only really upset about saddles, more preciselly materials that crafting new one gonna cost. So just leave you body there and go explore something else on different site, trust me, better spent time 🙂

I pretty much leave back to my base when my mules and I are topped off on metal and can't afford to tame a nearby argy. Not like Redwood Mountain is too far.

I only built close to Redwood Mountain because that's where I happened to end up as soon as I reached the other side of Redwood Forest. Wanted to set up a spawn point, and it being near water was super convenient too.

Originally I planned to set up base at the big mountain with my fleet of brontos and paracers because I thought that would have been my closest source of Obsidian, Crystal, and Metal nodes, but after hearing about the Gigantosaurus, I decided that wouldn't be a good idea and stayed where I was, instead taming a few argys to fly to and from the mountains in question.

Yeah, with gigas you have to be careful, one wild one aggros on your base and its over, I still remember when I thought that 16 tranq darts would be enough to knock out a giga, I explicitely remember saying, "Yeah this should be enough"

Okay, a question for next time: If I see my own corpse with items in it floating in midair, will attacking it with a carnivore flyer harvest the items on my otherwise unreachable floating corpse?

you can also graple your body out of lava with this methos as long as you hit the body, it till just fly to your direction most of the time

generaly when it comes to corpses, any damage dealt to them, unless its ranged will disintegrade corpse leaving only bag, which typicall falls on ground

Stuff like common causes of Yet Another Stupid Death in the ocean.
In the snow, for instance, going out in the winter at night not knowing that the full fur set won't protect you
Or Redwood's pouncing tree cats or burrowing cats
Or Swamp's leeches

Oh, in that case then the Ocean is a very mean biome

Lots of dangers in general, stay away at all costs from Cnidarias (jellyfish), Electrophorus (Eels), as they will dismount you and it's an almost guaranteed death for both you and your dinos, this is a pain until you get either a Basilosaurus, or a bit harder to get, a Tusoteuthis, which are both immune to those stuns.
Mantas and Megalodons are not really an issue, until you're surrounded by them, which deal crazy damage when there's a lot of them together.
A tip for easy traveling in the water is to get a Baryonyx, which has a spin attack (Right click) which is amazing for combats in water, except for the Cnidarias and Eels.
If you're planning to farm a decent amount of stuff underwater, consider getting the SCUBA gear asap (that is actually from the fabricator), and when you do, always bring at least 2 scuba tanks with you, just in case one of them breaks, you have a spare that you can use, so you don't risk the chance of drowning. Also the flippers are very nice to always have with you, to move faster in the water (also the oxygen stat on your character increases your speed underwater, so nice to invest a few points onto that stat).
Also, if you happen to see a Mosasaur or a Tusoteuthis... just don't approach to them, avoid them at all costs until you KNOW you're ready for them.

I know it's a bit too much of text, but that pretty much covers the general ocean stuff

Starter water tames to definitely consider taming are the Baryonyx for the stuns, the Basilosaurus for general travel + damage, a decent amount of Megalodons is always good since they get bonus the more you have of them together (just like Raptors)

Ah, well they are possible to tame, but most dinos also have an oxygen stat, and if they happen to be knocked out underwater, that bar will decrease, which makes them lose health eventually

To avoid that, you can use an Equus with a lasso and drag them out of the water; they also happen to be very good swimmers

A trick about Beavers… Tamed Beavers do not make a Beaver Dam… so if you have some in your area don’t kill or tame those, go further away to get them because it’s nice to have pearls, flowers, wood and cementing on your doorstep as opposed to having to get all the way to the Pool up near Top right of map

i can see why they made asa a separate game, i believe they said it was a remaster from the "ground up" and you cant really do that with such an old game. additionally theres so many mods that no longer have creators so a remaster would make them unuseable, and if the creator is still active then it'd be annoying to remake them with no benefit

i have a hope that asa will be the most fire game in history that is a proper remaster rather than published with fancier graphics. but in reality wc doesnt need to do that, they can just do the latter and call it a day

if you really want to be sure that the message is seen this is the only place. they did it for legacy servers. I find that the communication is not clear. it's weird, I receive emails from nitrado but nothing from wildcard. personally I prefer a little compassion to contempt.

hi guys, im playing ark on steam and the past few days i've had this issue where BEDaisy.sys wont load or something? and im forced to play on unofficial servers only, is there a fix for this?

unfortunately you cant transfer dermises, their data gets deleted on upload. i tried to do the same thing and was very disappointed

either you can make a boss room on every map, or just do a single artifact room

I’ve got a Trophy room on each for Bosses and Flags but wanted a Massive trophy room in my main base of them each on a Stand… ah well… less of a reason for the Re-Run but still need to due to character Loss anyways, and I suppose it will get me ready for ASA

what i did is i placed down all the artifacts and near them a dino that signifies the boss (e.g mek dermis for king titan, araneo for broodmother and so on.) you could try that

I suppose ppl would complete the Game quicker if they could simply transfer Trophies, which might take the Challenge away from other maps as they all differ… but I don’t understand Dermis as it doesn’t really impact the Game or each map etc 🤷‍♂️

How does a trophy make any difference... A trophy is something U get upon completion, not the other way around. Unless you are talking about tributes, which is a whole different story

Both Trophies and Tributes are used to open boss arenas though is what I mean hence taking away the challenge of having to do Cave runs and other challenges etc👍🏼

Well this all started coz I was initially doing a Re-Run with an extra perk of doing Dermis run too, but @static fjord mentioned you can’t transfer Dermis 😬

Tbh I'd remove the ability to transfer artifacts... Like for real... Take crystal isles as an example.. Artifacts are lying in plain view, whilst we had to really WORK for those artifacts in rag

so far I have had that issue with 10 server saves from the Aug. 25th saves

there are like 6 of us wanting to play but we cant log into our characters/toons it forces us to create a new one every time we try, all bases and dinos are there so yes cheat commands would fix that part of it, but I dont like using cheats that is why I played vanilla

and between us we have almost 80k hours ingame

hit tab for console and then type cheat destroywilddinos

this will repopulate your ark with teh appropriate level range after you change that
