when babies first hatch they have low weight amounts and can only hold a few pieces of food at once so you have to keep going back to them to refill their inventory, being able to just put many stacks of food in a maewing is much easier especially when raising dozens of creatures at once

You can make a 3 gate cage with a Lil bit of space between em and 2 traps in the center

You can also use billboards, they are cheaper and in my experience easier to place in conjunction with large bear traps.

You could also use griffins or other flyers to fly above its attack range and bombard it from there.

Gives you the ability once activated to go to a gestating female and open wheel to view embryo stats/colour regions and reset gestation if you arent pleased with results

It bugs out when you reset gestation and try to check another embryo from the same female. It doesnt however if you let the monitoring buff time all the way out then re buff and check again or fast travel in your base and it will work again.

Like the buff has to naturally time out before you can check a new baby from the one you reset. I dont think the game accounted for such boosted rates where youd get the same female in gestation before the 300 second buff expired lol

When it reaches zero it will just stay in the incubator until you're ready to hatch it. Youll select the egg and hit hatch. But it will sit in there forever intil youre ready
