Don’t tame carchars in traps, it seems like they bug out. Like everyone who said they don’t eat and so on has trapped them.
I and others had no issues taming them wild / no trapping

i’m on 3x taming and the entire process took like 10+ hours

preparation took a long time since i started breeding a bunch of high hp bronto for food

the taming effectiveness is based on max hp afaik

i didn’t trap mine super tightly but gave it a bit of space

I’ve tamed a lvl 90 in about 30 mins on 1x, using somewhat high hp Rex babies so only one was needed to ride it every time

i had to reset it a few times because it didn’t get high efficiency

i’m not sure what i did wrong in like the first 6 attempts because the effectiveness just randomly dropped

You can good efficiency even with wild Dinos if you limit it to paracers, rhinos, mammoths, brontos (like near / at a snow biome)
Efficiency only goes down when the carchar takes damage or when you get dismounted, so to limit the dismounting only eat high hp things

Anyone have any idea what the "achievement Music" would be coming from? Playing on the Extinction map - just walking around harvesting rocks or killing dinos. Not doing any of the drops. All of a sudden music goes off as if i just did somthing or unlocked something, im not really sure what it is. .nothing is popping up that said i did anything or what not.

If it’s ingot it’s already smelt and I believe it takes something like 5 metal for 1 ingot. Also depending on server settings it can take awhile

There is a FuelConsumptionIntervalMultiplier, but by default there is not a cooking speed multiplier. You would need access to mods for that.

i tried using the phase pistol healing (which is how you perfect tamed desmos, or overcapped basilisks) while taming it, at all stages of it being being either ride-able or needing another corpse fed, i even knocked it out mid-tame (and healed it) to see if its efficiency got up, but nothing.
so id cautiously call BS on that one SO FAR

and the "week long rollback" is surely a hoax, they cant have information about such an impactful event before any official word. and wildcard doesnt rollback easily, especially not for such a long time

For the crash, no that's not fixed. Crashes like that seem to be common in circumstances where you're teleporting (e.g. to/from boss arenas, Gen2 VR missions, etc), most likely due to Ark's engine getting overloaded while trying to render the environment from disk/network

The pin explains the issue with the island and other story maps up to extinction. If you want a higher level distribution across the map, you have to edit each spawn individually, or use a mod such as Custom Dino Levels.

playing ark is so risky lmao... you are dumping hours and hours of your life in hopes of finding some sense of accomplishment with security and risking so much time just to maybe log on one day raided and sit there and realize that you just wasted so much of your life on this game because it really does take alot of time and effort to achieve anything in ark. (at least in official which is what i play so my opinions are biased) (this also happened to me yesterday when i logged on raided and everything was gone and i sat and thought about how i wasted 7 days worth of grinding just to lose everything) (yes i am salty but thats the ark experience right 😅 😍 )
