Yes, but if you are breeding them it doesn't matter, a baby gets the parents stats at 100% effectiveness. So if you lost 30 levels in taming you'd see that distribution in the baby

Pretty much every tame you utilize is poop until you breed it anyways. The moschops is just so painful, I uselly pop into the small cave and tame up like 10 bats to use and have my 15 aside to breed acruel stats

Got bats when imprinted and leveled to 4k hp, 2k Stam, 700 melee, 900 weight. It's my giga killer

I get the feeling you're overlooking or misunderstanding the value of high taming effectiveness

I see none, it just provides max possible level out the gate.

Imprint is the value, reduced damage and increased damage output

I could perhaps overlook it for a bat or another flyer, since you could still wind up with "good enough" stats but generally it's a much better plan to go for high effectiveness when taming. Which means (imo) it's best practice, and it's usually better to recommend best practices to newer players.

so we all know when you want to find a creature you kill everything in the area leave and come back until you find the creature you want right?

so what does one do when those areas are basically dead space?

example: i am on ps4 singleplayer Fjordur and have been looking for gigas for about a week or two now to get hearts for the alpha dragon boss fight; or to get a mate for the R giga i have; or more recently to tame a carchar

now i have used gg wikis spawn map to find out where they spawn, and with banners marked the coordinates stated on the wiki.

the area in between these banners in area 1 (near green ob) nothing spawns... except fish in the water.

Area 2 has a 'dead space' in between the cliffface and Poglin cove; all spawn points work around that area except where the banners mark the supposed 'giga spawn point'

Area 3 has a nothing spawning in between the two banners as well; the oil fields from the shore to the foot of the cliff face is dead space

so my question is what is going on? am i having bad luck or when they patched the spawns to lessen the alpha creature spawning did it affect the gigas as well

Super Structures is a huge QoL mod highly recommended, no untamables let’s you tame some of the normally untamables, the Marnii mods add some good creatures and items, for adding Dino’s I typically just search that in the steam workshop and check out anything with 4-5 stars.

Someone gifted me a few pretty good super mutated dinos on the server I'm on, and I was wondering if I bred one of those with a regular dino I tamed from the wild, would their baby work as a base dino? So I could start stacking health mutations etc on top of the already great stats?

I just don’t understand because in that video when they were breeding their mutated dinos (so like 5/20 mutation for example) with a base dino, they were specifically looking for only mutated babies and killed off the other ones. My experience with the carcha is that it's bugged. The 150 I found got stuck on a rock and wouldn't move, wouldn't attack, wouldn't eat. I had to kill it in the end.

Yeah, traps are buggy. If you do need to trap it, I'd recommend making the trap larger (so it can't get stuck) and using a flyer carrying a dodo to keep it aggroed, then bring the corpse into the trap, and bring the flyer away.

No, you kind of live in for, but you won need riot gear close to your base, you can switch into it to fight stuff, but my best advice for you is tame an army of Pt's and set them all to follow your on lowest and fly to and into the Wyvern trench and grab an egg and fly for your life. Make sure the pt's are set to attack target and they will attack the wyverns that come for you and basically become sacrifice for you to get your first wyvern

As for game experience, I had been playing for 2 months when I did it myself, I'm a cautious gamer especially when it comes to losing dinos lol. Honestly I thought it would be harder than it was, you just look for an opening dly in, get off, grab egg, get on argie, fly for your life and not look back. If they no longer play, cheat destroytribestructures while looking at their building. Use cheat destroytribedinos for their dinos. You can even use cheat destroytribeplayers for the characters.
If you want to destroy just that area, you can either use the destroy mode on the admin blink rifle (cheat gfi blinkrifle 1 0 0), or you can use cheat destroymytarget (which destroys one at a time)

If you have another flyer, a method that use to work is that ride your flyer, get close the quetz, jump off, grapple to your flyer, take your first shot at the quetz, and then whistle your flyer to attack the quetz (so that it follows the quetz), and then whistle passive when you are close enough for the next shot. You can also just use the first part, then climb back your flyer, follow the quetz until it calms down, and repeat, but you will probably need more tranqs due to taking more time between shots.

Also, back in the day, I would tame a low level quetz first, then build a quetz trap on it, and use that to tame higher level quetzals. Not sure if that is still a viable option...not tried it for quiet a while.
