It is a little laggy yes, but I enjoyed the short time I spent there. It's a beautiful map. I recommend you all go to Fjordur though, I know many say that it is the best map out there and I was honestly very sceptical about that, but was pleasently surprised! It's very large has plenty of lovely base locations as well as all kinds of places to explore. My friends and I are doing a bit of viking RP too lol.

So yeah, if you want to go to a new map, go try Fjordur. 10/10 map

And if you get parents with same stats and same lvl lets say both is lvl 200 and every normal baby comes out at lvl 200 if you get a mutation it will be 202 because of the mutation

As of June 2022, the maximum player level is 190: survivors start at level 1, 104 levels can be gained normally, 60 gained by defeating end-game bosses, 10 gained from collecting all Explorer Notes on every map, 5 acquired by levelling up a Chibi (a cosmetic event pet), and a total of 10 levels for collecting all Fjordur Runes.

Depends if you WANT to start fresh. I play almost exclusively on official and that since early 2016, so I kept with one survivor ever since the old servers were turned into “legacy”

You could theoretically then get another map hosted on the same machine as well, and transfer directly / seamlessly between the servers.
Transferring on SP / non dedi is “problematic” as it can fail or lead to data loss, but between proper dedicated servers it’s not really an issue.
I use ASM tho, no idea how to setup the clustering on a Linux Client

Hm i think it also is different when you can change the rates, like on official I really enjoyed starting day 1 (with no transfers, only my strong character but no Dinos/items) fresh on new maps, but on the long shot ark is pretty grindy so I like keeping what I worked for

XD just wait till you reach Tek / boss level, like getting good breed lines and later on, Tek items are rather costly, so if you have to redo all that stuff every map fresh, it’s so much extra work (imo) instead of taking things with you.
But all personal preference i guess, Ark is Sandbox for a good reason, you can play it the way YOU like or enjoy it

when i was collecting deinon eggs, the highest stamina stat i found was on a lvl 130 (max server lvl 150)

creature level reflects the sum of all its stats, so a high lvl one could have high worthless stats like food and oxygen
