Every single stat has three numbers associated with it - the base stat (that is randomly generated from wild tames and can be mixed/matched among bred dinos), the mutation stat (all mine are at zero right now), and the third number if the levels you've added to the stat from the leveling process.

Before you have incubators, put torches around the egg and light them, or use air conditioners if you have unlocked. Try a few different amounts of torches so you dont make it too hot

Basic mutation chance is 5 % without traits. Babys stop getting mutations if both parents have 20+ mutations so you always want 1 clean parent (F) and one that gives thr mutations (M)

You can get dinos that hatch at level 300+ without mutations. It's just an absolute pain to do so, and you're gonna be taming hundreds of max level dinos to get there.

Every dino has 5 to 7 stats, and the level of the dino is (wild + mutation + player) levels for all stats combined.

Ocean dinos don't have oxygen (usually) and gacha add a crafting skill (so 7 stats instead of 6).

In that case, try to tame some max levels, breed the best health/melee stats onto a single breeding line of rexes, then start mutating the melee stat just whenever you've got time. Once your rexes are hatching above level 300, most bosses should be pretty easy.

A dino might be level 100 because it has 40 points in health and 30 points each in weight or melee (as a contrived example), or because it has 40 points in weight and 30 each in health and melee.

By breeding them together, it randomly pulls each stat from one of the parents, and you can get it to level 110 (40 health, 40 weight, 30 melee) instead of 100.

Then of course mutation levels are separate, and add on top of that.

Oxygen mutations are a waste of time generally, as are food mutations, but health/melee/weight are generally valued.

Dedi boxes don't require element (besides initial crafting) and they store up to 1800 stacks of a single item type.

So you can store all the hide, or all the wood, in a single box.

...and crafting stations "in range" will automatically pull from the dedi box too.
