There is a fundamental issue with the way structures are skinned in ASA, that clearly wasn't present in ASE as skinning wasn't an option. My base is big, but not overly big like someone who mass clones for online shops, it's just not exactly a 4x4 shoebox with a door. I use the skin Bullet Sci-Fi Structures Premium as my primary skin for all walls, floors and ceilings. When I join the game and skins haven't yet loaded up, its all fine. Yet once the skins start rendering I crash with an access violation UE error. This will happen 4 - 5 times immediately after skins loading in. To play, I have to quickly run as far away from my base as I can and wait in a corner for about 2-3 mins...
For a few weeks I have been testing this and I removed the skin from half of my base and the crashing reduced by about 70%.
I've been making a base on another map, a large size but not quite as big, but this time I hadn't applied any skins. The game works fine, no crashes at all. I skinned a little with the Bullet Sci Fi Structures Premium mixed with the Quantum skin set, and still, the game ran OK. but then I skinned the remainder of my base and now I am back to crashing like I did on my first server.
So there's either an issue with skins when used on a larger scale with memory access problems, or the Sci Fi skin by Bullet needs some work. The that the Quantum skins set made the game crash too If feel the problem is with skins themselves.
I have a 4070Ti Super and a CPU of the same generation (I forget the actual model and can't check as I am not at home)
