It’s great. The server stability is a bit difficult atm. We’ve averaged 3-13 crashes a day in the past couple months. 6 in the past 24 hrs after a hardware fix yesterday.

It’s still my favorite map. It just sucks that it’s kind of hard to play.

People in here arguing over cloners a lot, I believe it’s mostly misunderstanding and confusion, since many cloners are on servers with usually large bases and a ton of creatures outside as well.
A cloner is indeed just a piece of structure (singular) and there is nothing particular hardware stressing about it. The structure capped bases + tribe limit of dinos out however is a problem

Very true, and usually/at least on my Ext and some of the Gen2 servers I’ve travelled to, these people would have a huge, giant base around it, tons and tons of cryofridges, breeders / clone Dinos out etc, you basically never find just a platform with a ton of cloners on top of it.
And true, i wish there was more of a dev point. I was just also always wondering to myself, why not limit cloners for tribes then if they are so impactful ? Even 20 would be more than plenty

Yeah, I think we’ve effectively ran out of what we can do on the player side. We’ve tried everything that we can possibly think of collectively on our own. We all are trying to stay about 100 under limit even when doing breeding and stuff. there’s 100 of us in our small group discord and we’re all trying to make it work but it’s just crazy even though we’re doing all this. It still amounts to nothing.

Hey I've always been fairly respectful in here, but I think the comment earlier that the server saves are chonky and putting blame on players to monitor their own structures was a bit of an L take.

Nobody is going anywhere, Astraeos is a one stop shop. I'd love to go to aberration, but it's buggy. Texture stretching along the rivers in green and I can't use some dinos. The rock drakes also handle poorly compared to ASE, and they are the main method of transport there.

I'd love to go to the island and relive my early Ark experience but then Tek will be boss only and the map isn't as exciting as Astraeos.

Astraeos is just the prized server atm. You have almost every exclusive dino, have easy element farming, have easy resource farming. I understand why nobody wants to go anywhere else. That is kind of something of a 'problem of your own making' WC.

When we report people, like those in the swamp on 5964 being stupid building right outside someone's gates (blocking them in) and a 60 mile long base all in foundations killing spawns they should listen to our complaints. Instead it feels like there is a lot of redirecting blame. We were told (even though they are as close as they can get to someone's gates and building just straight foundations for miles into the ocean) that they are a large tribe and that's okay.

The timers are also off at the moment, so the 'CHONKY' saves might be entirely preventable at this point. When you turn it back on almost guaranteed it improves noticeably for us on Astraeos.

Best advice I have for you as somebody that’s been dealing with hundreds of reports for months is to get your community involved as well. Have them submitting the same reports. You can have an admin in your community discord add a link to the server reporting outage form. It helps when there’s more information on all the times that it goes down.
