I don't get it as satire either, and I like the Imperium, its symbols and its themes, does this make me a Nazi? And no its not visually similar because the Nazi symbol was a falcon with 1 head and the swastika on the bottom ( which in itself is not an evil symbol, since its meant as a symbol of peace in Asian religions, it was stolen and used for evil). well swinging at them with a melee weapon often will not work because they are surrounded by flies, even if you hit them they don't feel pain and can shrug off a lot of damage, and their swords can deliver fatal infections even at the smallest cut

but considering that Darktide is not the most lore accurate, i think they can add them, as long as their appearance are limited

Basically if you see a Plaguebearer your best bet is to get as far away as you can get and pummel it with heavy weapons, plasma weapons, flamers and meltas. Better yet, call in some artillery.

Hitting them with most melee weapons is generally a horrible idea because first off, you'll be close enough to catch whatever awful diseases their carrying which is worse if you were to get any fluids or gore on you.
And secondly, their are plenty of stories that talk about how how melee weapons would start corroding after hitting them.

If they ever get added to the game they'd probably be a mini boss like a Plague Ogryn or Chaos Spawn but smart enough to use weapons like the Twins.

And you have a loooot of interesting lore written for stuff like Dark Heresy. (Dedicated Psykana Temples, Non-Combat Sanctioned Psykers and etc.)

But Sanctioned Psykers live under the twin shadows of being ignored 99% of the time in the setting and suffering from grimderp.

The more fascinating takes are the stories that treat them marginally better then most other stories to flesh them out.

Blades of Damocles despite its faults has one of the most well written and interesting Psykers I've seen in a novel in years. (That weren't Inquistors or part of Abnetts stuff. :v)

Ah yeah, they do have their built in headaches of being effecitvely live grenades for the setting though. Can certainly be an annoying story element to work with I imagine. They almost feel like Chekov's gun if they don't cause problems, they were wasted or something. But idk, like tieflings in fantasy D&D stuff, I like seeing the difference in how they are treated by some and what not, and it's interesting. But I really hate reading much anything about Space Marines just because their stories feel so unapproachable compared to the 'normal' humans struggles in the universe. Though I freaking ADORE stories about Blanks. I love the empty spot in the warp xD

I just think the constant, 'Their a danger and need a bolt pistol constantly trained at their heads.' constrains interesting storytelling opportunities and results in them not getting as much attention as they probably should.

Yeah, I always took it more to be in world belief they are that likely to be dangerous. Propaganda and what not, and while it is truly a danger what we see the inquisitors face as far as corruption is the more consistent feel. Maybe with the whole awakening and mass psyker story arc thing going we'll start to see less of that insta-kill belief, and be able to have more of those sorts of dealing with life stories.

It varies depending on type of Dreadnought, the Redemptors for example are hell because they're designed by Tech Priests who view the Marine interred inside as a temporary replaceable component, so there's little protection for them and the Dreadnoughts power basically fries them overtime until they're burned alive and need to be replaced.
