Besides, our main restriction is that the principle writer is Dan Abnett who's generally known to keep 40k things relatively grounded - focus on mortals and how overwhelmingly difficult things are for the average Gregor in a universe where literally everything wants to (and probably can) kill you.

So things like ORKS and actual "epic invasion" things I find unlikely. Skirmishes, sure. Raids, sure. Subtle heresy and the slow descent of a planet into chaos... absolutely.

You can cheese it by getting a friend and doing a mission where you have to physically extract. Before you extract just leave the mission and reconnect, jump in the extract after (Elevator or Valkyrie) and it counts. Otherwise get two people who can control the front line with melee, another guy to cover your back, grab a close range weapon that clears, and you fight for your life out here.

it fucks up hordes

Like a autogun, since you have to take no melee damage it's best to avoid melee but the autoguns punch like a truck so it's good for quickly clearing anything that gets close to you and you can still knock heads off from a far and another good option is the accatran. Normally if you wanna clear big hordes I recommend the power sword powered up, for armored the chain sword but the power sword can also cut through armored boys just takes a little longer.
