Actually it's because I thought my hp bar was just... Bigger when using bonus wounds. And now I spend plasteel on too many different builds to use it on accessories. But that tends working somehow for now in threshold 4 đ

Purgatus is probably the least of the staves by a little bit
it's good at what it does but it has the biggest weaknesses
and what it does is possibly slightly redundant
all are useful, some are just less versatile

Purg psykers do by far the worst in my games if I'm running EP smite.

Haha I had kind of such an insight by playing. I've swapped my psyker toward something more agressive but I can't help it, there will always be some sort of backline support build ready to use somewhere in my pool

Smite becomes Purgatus but with a limited target cap

Assail is kinda like Surge actually
DD assail is basically the same thing without the 0 peril cost
Really good at killing ranged mobs and elites
but also boosts your other shit
if I run Assail, I run it with voidstrike or guns and DD

You're running an Illisi which will be empowered a lot of the time
Assai helps me killing long range ennemies which I can't with my staff (or painfully slowly with the basic attack)

since each additional stack of soublaze is somewhat exponential in how much damage per tick it does
It starts to become more linear iirc
so youre doing WAYYY more damage with it like that
it's like the first few stacks have increasing returns
but after like 6 it's linear, and it even starts to taper off if you hit the extremes
but it's enough to push you over a lot of thresholds :)
I think it's quadratic for a segment, then linear, and then inverted quadratic or something
I used to play with breakpoints in vermintide but in darktide I really lack the knowledge on such things so the tips are appreciated
or upside down exponential decay or some other complicated bollocks like that
doesn't matter because you don't reach that part of the graph anyway
(plus even if I play nearly all classes besides ogryn perhaps psyker will become my first go to so any tip on them especially is nice)
Once psyker properly clicks I'm pretty sure it's the most powerful class
very fragile if you let something through though
All of our defensive strength comes from not being hit while below 100% toughness
but our active defense is unparalleled
Veteran seems super strong to me (I play energetic sword / chainsaw idk which is best and revolver and I feel never powerless whatever the situation is đ) but the psyker is just so cool fighting constantly with the peril threshold
At least the venting action is really quick which is quite nice to spam those surges
Once you take creeping flames you will start to use high peril as a resource too
I do already. For better voicelines.
Buuut additional damages is cool to take too
And then you take a different build, say shield Blaze Trauma, which also needs you to maintain high peril but doesn't have the emergency vent button :)

According to the crit bonus description, it only gives crit chance to primary attacks
Crit damage on perks usually not.
Crit damage on talents can be good though
But always less good than it sounds
(But talents tend to give you a much greater amount of it)

Surge staff usuage on a normal surge build is gonna be different of course.
Perhaps I emphasize too much the threat of elites mixed with horde because my usual groups struggle a bit killing them (#ImTooGoodForThem) but I should give the voidstrike another round despite the longer cast time
That's a normal use of Surge.
Half the point of surge though is to pair with shriek/creeping flames.
Where as Voidstrike is largely standalone and you can pair it with whatever.
Peril gen is one of the benefits of surge, rather than a negative. Both for shriek spamming(with warp charges) and toughness gen.
You can just straight up run towards gunner groups on surge because of that.
"Soulblaze damage ticks take the damage modifiers (perks and blessings) from the currently active weapon and buffs, not from the buffs at the time of application." now that will become complex...

I would, it's a huge boost with a short time, it's not as consistent as Lingering, but it shines during Auspex parts because you get swarmed by bruisers, shooters and stalkers
With that being said
Use Lingerie Presence
It immediately evaporates the moment a boss shows up though
although tbf voidstrike doesn't do shit to bosses anyway
I'm sure most psykers will have a lot of presence with some appropriate lingerie
I feel like you get all the good breakpoints with lingering anyway with voidstrike, and with guns you'd rather not have your stacks fall off on the boss
Also what the heck is lingerie presence, auto correct strikes again 
Psyker is my last class to level, and while I got to level 11 damage has been⌠hit and miss. Iâm assuming my super low weapons are partly to blame, however my current talents could also be complete trash. Iâm running assail (being careful not to be a nonce and pull adds/bosses needlessly), and while it does help I donât want to limit myself to just the ability. Iâm using the shield wall but being low level itâs extremely lackluster. Probably a case of low level syndrome but even with the other three classes i at least felt I was contributing. Any tips?
basically when levelling psyker you pretty much want to rely on assail to be your main dmg source imo since it's the best you can get until level 30
it makes the game easy until you hit heresy and above so i understand not wanting to rely on it completely
a brain burst build can actually be fun to level because you slowly see an increase in your effectiveness
and that blitz is actually viable all the way up to max difficulty
While leveling I was having fun with brain burst having a chance to trigger on warp attacks + purgatus staff (but I'm a flame everywhere on the screen enjoyer)

Warp Nexus, Warp Flurry, And Flak damage are basically "required" for a decent Surge staff.
The second perk can be maniacs, 5% crit chance, unyielding, elite damage. Carpace is kinda okay.

I think it was actually my 6th mission, and I had joined another midway through, but just didn't trust myself on the numbers
Yeah that's fair, you can't even be too mad at people with the state the servers are in. Sometimes I get a lag spike and the frames don't change at all, then it takes 30 seconds where I can move but the enemies are nowhere where it shows, as I play catch up to the frames I lost, and then I can play normally again or I crash

I don't think warp resistance matters too much for the secondary attacks, will 80 compared to 60 even give you an extra full charge?

warp resistance is definitely the stat with the least improvement as it increases of the 5 stats, but trauma is also stupid peril hungry
Yes that's another point, it would only even matter when starting from 0, which doesn't happen that often during a mission. As long as you can cast fully after a quell then it matters even less

Illisi hands down
If you have DD and SG boosting you, other weapons can horde clear very well too with greater flexibility
Yeah I handle hordes in heresy very easily with the illisi sword, heavy into light and repeat with a few dodges (and charging the power when you have the space to do so)
But with no investment, the Illisi is crazy for horde clear
Be aware the push attack will make you explode if you're at 100 peril, it adds 4% I think

Yeah... In fact I don't rely A LOT on it but in some particular situations it's the thing that made the difference between life and death. And since the weapon basically does its job I find it a very cool tool to have at hand (despite the shield thing kinda blinds me lol!)

i will use rmb almost all the time, as usually if i am panicking at an enemy close by its probably better for me to just switch to a melee rathar than try smite them
Hmmm depends, in my experience even at close the right clic smite is very effective to stagger ennemies, especially some sneaking behind a teammate or something
But once you release the smite the ennemies tend being staggered for a moment again or even fall on the floor and there you can go after them with your melee weapon. Not even needed to fully charge your smite
would you guys say venting shriek or telekine shield (im not smart enough for scryers gaze) is better for support smite

both are good in their own ways
shriek will net you more uptime, shield will grant you more defense
whatever you like best vent for more damage shield either for collecting pubs or double wall for being ballsy
smite is alreeady a ton of cc so you dont necessarily need the extra defense of shield, but that doesnt mean the combo is worthless, just more one or the other in the moment most of the time
I made a support build with smite and shield but more experienced players than I have advised preferring shriek
Killing is the best support

Hello, so sorry, i rolled a few trauma staffs, need some feedback on em 𼺠im not too sure about the stat priority on these rending trauma staffs
and then is this flame trauma any good? or should I keep grinding for a better one, i feel like the stat distribution is a little meh
Personally I'd be appealed toward the 2nd one but I'm still learning
they all seem good first one tho id go flak instead of carap
The second rending trauma is better, imo. Blaze trauma could be better with the stats, but I don't think it's bad enough that you need to grind a new one before the crafting update.

flurry should in theory cover up for the low charge speed but idk what the range on it is
I don't know either, higher charge rate and quell speed seems more comfy though, if nothing else

warp res as a dump stat is best since it scales the worst with higher %
i tested on surges
but both 80% and 60% get you to 5 charged attacks
one you end up with 100% peril and one with 96% so not that big of a gap
Yeah warp resistance I feel is really the least important
Since you can cast any fully charged spell at idk 95% peril and still only reaches 100% "safely"
I'd still say quell speed isnt that important either so I'm not gonna be picky between the two

You have to be careful with it but if there's a group of flak elites you can gaze and assail.
If you have a red stim too, it goes nuts since it also reduces peril generation.

The lifesave part is very marginal once you get gud

Luxury talent picks I chose are Wildfire, Warp Expenditure, Psychic Leeching, 15 Toughness, Empathic Evasion. These are all droppable if you want e.g. true aim, puppet master
Also aura is flexible
I enjoy mine in lvl 4 to kill elites / specials quickly at medium range or inside a horde

The upside of the laspistol is the reload time and interval, and the suppression immunity
It's not enough to beat CIAG for me though
laspistol lost a lot of its dps when FartShart nerfed its firerate
it was 4.44/s before, buffed to 5/s, and then dropped back to 4.44/s
Yeah. Surge is perfectly good in auric damnation and maelstrom. Take it with Venting Shriek / Creeping Flames, both to deal with hordes via soulblaze burn and because it's a high peril weapon

Might be able to move a couple nodes around at the top, but the key for surge is to make sure you have Solidity
It kinda sucks u need to waste a couple points to get it, but this build doesn't need anything else so you don't mind the extra toughness
It feels better than 30% i think like its speeding you along the curve, its a good perk i think if you're quelling
Ep smite blitz for horde clear is funny but you're point poor and going to blast away warp battery anyway so why not

In 4.5 hours melk will sell me surge flurry and pc 4 alhamdulilah
what solidity does is reduce the tick interval from 250ms to 175ms, so the benefit is 1/0.7 = 1.43x more peril quelled over time
So another tooltip that's slightly misleading
You also don't want to waste your vent on the surge, because you want to use it to extend the duration of your smite.
solidity is zany fast
it's a tragedy because if it were actually "quell speed" as the stat modifier on the weapon, it would take us from 12.31% peril per tick (80% quell speed) to 21.55% peril per tick (110% quell speed)
