Sorry for the late response! I'm at work atm. Guide Cat's build works very well for Plasma for hitting the important breakpoints. Chainsword is fun but really only does horde clear well and struggles on armour. Plasma is awkward for Crushers. It can kill them ok but it's better to have a good melee to rip them open instead. A pack of 8 Crushers will take painfully long to kill with just Plasma shots and eat through a fair bit of ammo too. Knife, Dueling Sword, Rashad Axe or Power Sword are all solid options

Shotgun is kinda bad at killing big guys and specially crushers. So armor penetrating melee is preferable. All other sicklings are dead or soft enough for melee onetap (and autoreload) after two shots. Range immunity after close kill is very nice, other blessings are free. Anyway. You gonna jump from one weapon to other pretty much always, so get yourself matching perks
