The rating on weapons is based off of the stat percentages added up for base rating. Perks and Blessing have their own rating based off of the level of the perk/blessing

Rending/Brittleness:
Essentially they both provide more damage and stagger, especially vs armoured enemies. Weapons with bad armour damage will have a greater benefit than weapons that have good armour damage against armour. Rending is a player buff, while brittleness is a debuff, which means other player's damage is increased when brittleness is applied but not rending. They stack with each other, but brittleness has a max stack limit

Same thing as rending but it's a debuff applied to the target instead of a buff applied to you

I seem to be having issues getting crit shots (like hitting headshots when you see the orange hit marker) with just about any gun. Like right now, Im testing the boltgun in the meat grinder, and sometimes a headshot will be yellow, and sometimes its white- like, not really understanding- anyone have any clues?

Also like, my revolver has crit bonus damage, and when Ishoot the armored mauler, it takes 259 dmg to the chest, but only 152 damage to the head? like, is it bugged?

Speaking of: Scab Bruisers (flak torso thighs arms, no helmet + Melee weapons) have unarmoured lower arms and lower legs.

If you do a crouch and aim-down a horizontal sweep against them, you'll cull more than you would aiming at heads (and inevitably hitting some flak shoulders).

Ironically, being a short character helps you here.

because if you're shorter than them, aiming up at heads makes it easier to not accidentally tag shoulder armour.

Rather than your swing penetrating the horde at a downward angle, heads on the front row and shoulders on the 2nd etc.

Check the 'Penetration' stat with Inspect.

Penetration = % damage which pierces armours.

Almost always, higher penetration is a much more valuable stat than raw damage.

Because lower armour enemies almost always die to 'normal' damage amounts already.

Extra points: Blessings that grant Rending are your friend.

They increase your armour penetration (against all targets).

Final note, Revolver afaik has some mad damage fall-off at distance.

Do a few shots at 5m, 10m, etc. You'll see it drop quite quickly.

Given Revolver can swap super fast, consider using it closer to a special melee attack.

learn to read the tells where 'pushbacks' are coming and use a block. it won't stop the pushback but it will mitigate it (especially toughness damage)

then you rush in to deal damage. if an Ogryn has a Box O Hurt ready to go, let them do it because those can wipe out 20-25% of a boss's HP on a headshot

Unwavering is great when mixed with Counterfire (highlights shooters) - when you're facing a gunwall it helps a lot.

Camo Expert is the other good one, as long as your team isn't all vets with the same skill... but you gotta stand still for it to work.

then using a lasgun with the suppression immunity blessing

can literally just stand in the open and point and click with no suppression effects and taking very little damage

Using Kantrael XII against the gunner I do 315 damage to the head and 213 to the thigh. Still worth going for headshots against them. Mauler on the other hand is no contest chest shots > headshots.

Lasguns seem to be the only one that struggle with armor to such an extreme so I suspect that against a gunner there is no gun where you'd want to aim for the thigh over the head.

i personally think counter-block-push is more reliable

you can also stagger them (if you have a weapon with decent stagger) the whole time while they are running up to you

which may result in them resetting and running off to re-target and charge again though

Every class has a sort of priority list of what they should be 'doing' in general. Everyone can clear hordes, everyone can kill elites but generally everyone has a part to play. I'm sure zealot mains would disagree with me but I find them the least useful because they're just super single-target based but their ability is a less useful version of the Ogryns and they don't have hefty range capabilities (though I think they get bolters too, which can be nice)
