To break any addiction you need 3 things: Acknowledging its a problem in your life that needs to change to improve your life, trust that it is possible to overcome the addiction, and not hiding that you have the addiction from at least some people. Carnage is already far along on what is needed to break free.

I think I talked with him earlier about some tips. Like attack the addiction from the trigger, urge or reward. Personally I think the urge is maybe the optimal point of attack, replace what it solves with a better healthier solution that doesn't get in your way as much.

Start paying attention to if you feel the urge and consciously choose a better prepared activity to apply that urge too.
