I had the same they always mocked us and not only they criticize us but went too extreme to mock my roommate broken leg by posting humiliating posters on every dorm door, my female friend was cooking food with us they barged our door and said “ we want to see her clean dishes” absolutely disgusting people in my college. The thing is my friend it took me long to find really good friends in my uni. The good friends always motivated me stood with me and even criticized me for my mistake but this is where i knew they are helping my growth. I started to focus on smaller groups and by the end of college i only had 5 close friends in my bucket list from my uni , rest 99% are blocked and will never be reached . So its very normal to find such people in college, i will still suggest you to explore your options in your uni more, from different stream make friends because rn more than online friends u need offline friends that can aid u in disaster .

Until you wont explore , be extroverted in approach towards your environment, you wont be able to meet such friends. Here also on discord you might not find those kind of friends, i have been using discord from 2018 (my other hacked acc😭) i can say only 3 people are very close to me rest all betrayed me here too. But i kept on exploring so much that out of 100, i found the 3 i needed and i dont care anymore for making any new best friend. Try to explore more , be hyperactive in conversations, your studies too because some genuinely nice people love studious people , also make clear your motives and your personality in the first meeting so u can smell out who agrees with you and who doesn’t. Try this it will work. U can be your own best friend too but lets be honest , when i was depressed my other best friends helped me , my inner self was dead that time so u definitely need people you can talk with

I was bullied and isolated had no friends or mostly superficial and opportunistic ones who called me best friends, I cut my friendship with all those n js exist alone, I sat alone in school, bus, after school only interacting with people, one day I found another girl sitting alone she was always sitting alone but I didn’t notice cuz I was busy making friends with cool jock kids which drained me so much energy and when my best friends (who I thought was my best friend) started sitting with another person cuz I was on a sick leave and she sat with the other person even after I came back I was really betrayed, I was devastated then I noticed the other girl and I sat with her and it was my best decision in 12 years of schooling who would have thought that the last year of school I would find my long time best friend. Me and her are sooo fucking different but there’s actually sm love and shared trauma between us, negative point is both of us has low self esteem but we try to push each other as much as possible
