Anything that you install (3rd party applications for example) can get you banned because it messes with the games code. Playing in a modded server will greatly reduce the risks of a ban but that doesn't mean there are no chances. If the anticheat catches you using something that isn't supposed to be in the game then your ban is desereved, also because it quite literally says "No Cheats Or Mods" on the Code of Conduct.
