"the reason for this 'bug' is that mmr becomes exponentially harder to get (they tried to base it off of GTC). The farther you are from ranking up the game 'won't expect you to win' so if you do win you will get a lot of points, and losing won't lose you many points... if you're close to ranking up you have to do even better to get even tiny bit of mmr and you lose a lot when you do... but it keeps increasing and increasing until it gets to the point where the only way to get a little bit of mmr is do a 4 minute timecap by yourself (because timecapping with others is less profitable than by yourself)"
