If you're only getting it grey and not upgrading, then it's not super important. Pick the one you like the best for your avatar.

At grey, lore Weaver and witch doll can still be useful in Colo, so maybe that's a factor.
Or choose one with a little passive skill boost like one that has training speed boost added. If you haven't bought the A New Adventure pack with Petit devil and witch doll, that's pretty good value for beginners

Prima has only healing... Lore weaver has a stun, passive heal skill then main heal skill too... In majority cases, grey lore weaver will win over gold prima...

If you are buying some hero for Colosseum, i suggest green don guapo... Costs 10$ total and it's been a great addition to my team... In my experience, it's better investment than a grey/green lore weaver

For colosseum and stages grade of the hero is not that important. So yes Lore weaver us better at gray but still this is a war game. People don't buy heroes for colosseum they do it to get the army stats

Farm and fun in colo sounds like fun but for another game. If this is what you like ok but if you like fighting but you think that you cant do it as low spender i think i will dissagree. There are things you can buy that are very worth it as low spender and can help you a lot make your gear and stuff. Will need some time of course but for sure much quicker than f2p. I spent like 50$ so far 2,5 weeks into game and i need 100k gems more only for academy 25 and have enough technolabe to unlock t4 after that + with previous bargain event i can have some of the best gear pieces already at blue when i go lvl60. So i think as low spender you can do stuff and you dont need to fight titans. Keep your might low and you can go on many weak kingdoms and be like king there

Honestly, I wouldn't get don guapo just for Colosseum. If you're willing to get one hero to green, and colosseum is a factor for you, get either Lore Weaver, or Witch doll. As mentioned, even at grey or green lore is good in colo, and witch doll is as well at grey or green in some line ups. Witch doll has the benefit of passive utility stats

If you're a new player looking to play on a low spending budget, first Work out what your overall budget will be. Some people hate to spend anything at all on games, but it's perfectly reasonable to spend on entertainment as long as you can afford it in your budget. And by best advice for starting out is to spend a little more upfront to really give yourself a good start and invest in things that will boost your early progress, rather than spending little by little over months. Getting the beginner A New Adventure pack at the beginning, at least up to the 20 version where you get both heroes and the bonus gold equipment is very worthwhile. That equipment will be almost useless to very advanced players, but incredibly helpful to beginners. Likewise, monthly pack for Technolabes will be one of the best value things you can get. Breakthrough bonus is also highly recommended, especially once c25 is reached.

Far better to start out just getting those high value packs up front rather than only getting small things occasionally - if you can afford to get those early on at least.

Choosing one hero you really like and slowly working to get it gold is also really good, but f2p heroes like rose knight and Watcher are perfectly good army boost heroes

I just finished skirmish 7 and I was wondering what the ideal split between barracks/infirmary/manor is, I'd ideally like to have it set to something and be able to leave it at that. Help appreciated!

If your building troops just have 1 infirmary 1-2 barracks and the rest manors. If you got all your troops switch the manors to infirms.

I am pretty much a noob myself, but I do know that more than 1 barracks is not necessary. If you build 2 barracks, you can create twice as many troops, but it costs exactly double what 1 barracks creates and takes exactly twice as long as 1 barracks.
I am creating a trap eventually, so I have gone with a majority of manors to speed up my troop creation. However, I will switch to majority infirmaries when I have enough troops (sometime in 2026 probably 🤣 ).
I would suggest 5 extra manors and the rest infirmaries if you want to do a "set and forget", review it if needed.

More than 1 barrack is good if you want to use 15h and 24h speed ups and also if you need more time for training while your offline it’s good to have so you always have training going instead of constantly logging in.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, just a general thing I have noticed. If I use examples from anyone, it is an example, not an attack.
I have noticed that answers to new player questions usually include non new player answers. The example I am thinking of is today, regarding number of barracks where the OP just opened Skirmish 7 and it was suggested to the OP that the Mega Maggot Familiar can be used to increase barracks training capacity.
Mega Maggot is a Pact 4 Familiar. The OP does not yet have Skirmish 8, so does not have the Familiar related buildings, nor possibly the Familiar research tree available yet, let alone a Pact 4 familiar.
With myself when I asked for advice, I indicated that I am L59 (just) and was informed that I should be using L60 gear....which is not available to me yet.

Would it be possible for those giving advice to actually look at what the OP is asking and give advice accordingly? (So reduced to the level the OP is at where the OP gives that information).

nah it is normal to have negative food per hour unless you spending hundreds on champion gear

One day you will have much more negative. Like -80m. It doesn't affect anything except you can't hold food.

To your question, yes any amount of negative food production can be mitigated by champion chest piece + reduced upkeep for gems. But champ gear is expensive. So probably better option is either create second castle without troops where you can store food. Or have bank in guild, from where you get food and also where you store it.

Only people in your guild can see them. Only r4/5 can set them, every guild has 5 to use (they're all different colours and symbols) but you might not be using them all.
They're handy to bookmark vital points on the map for all guild members to see. Common uses are pinning the guild bank, or marking rally targets, marking good Darknests, or reminding what troops needed for a wonder etc

You can see all guild pins from the full map, which is really handy and they provide a fast navigation to those locations.
On the right side of your screen there's a little drop down arrow that expands all the pin icons (just to the right of the turf boost (shield) icon.

Two options depending on strength (I would win with either choice)

1. Range blast. It's mostly cav in there so you beat it using range - add a few cav and inf buffers, try Cav wedge).
   If that fails:
2. Cav blast. Use a few inf and range buffers, go inf wedge. Cav heroes. Attack the front line.
   And after that... Just find an easier nest. There's thousands of nests, don't waste time bashing against a hard one

For solo attacks on Castles, rallies, Darknests, wonders...? If it's a Castle, did you test the frontline? There's no simple answer here, it's a compact subject.
But to keep it simple and beginner-friendly; in most situations you want to send a blast of one type with buffers, and focus on attaching the frontline or the largest type inside.

WHAT SHOULD I SPEND MY GEMS ON AS A BEGINNER?
Save them. Save save save. Saaaaaaaavvvvvvveeeeee
Don't use them on VIP again. You need ~650k gems to complete the buildings that will unlock the researches to reach T4 troops. For most f2p that takes a year to save. Can be half that if you're in a really good guild and you work at it. Can be a lot less if you buy some packs, but still you need over 600,000 gems just to unlock the troops. Save your gems.
After you have T4 unlocked, best place to put gems is (obviously treasure trove first) in tokens. Keep a large buffer on your gem count for things like relocators, speed boots, talent swaps, size boosts. Don't waste those items frivolously when you're starting out and you feel like you have many that you don't really need. Active fighters later in the game may go through dozens of relocators in a day and hundreds of wing boots. Having a stash of gems means you can get yourself out of trouble in guild fest, complete bargain store, buy RSS if you have gifting.
always have a minimum of 100k gems - honestly 500k is better as a bare minimum that you don't touch for bargain stores or emergencies. Bargain stores are coveted high value events and often cost in the region of 500k gems to buy everything. One day you'll cry about those VIP points when you desperately want the halos from bargain store but you don't have gems

Always be in Inf phalanx / Wedge and always wear a Rng+Cav heavy mix gear.

If you sit Rng wedge with that your main DPS which is Rng, will be damaged at very start, especially if you get hit by Inf. So yeah only inf front works with that, since it's a non-anti comp, they will see you got only few Cav or low tier of Inf and they will attack you with Rng/Inf.

If they find out your front and try to counter you, they will have to take damage from your most powerfull troops, Rng.

Never use gems
You need about 600k to unlock t4
Start with battle hall then go to prison because now you can host small rallies
Join a guild with good monster gift count [ 250 chest of level 2 monster can give 3000 gems everyday]
Take advantage of events like guild fest, 1+1 deal and other event where you can get gem
There are may events that can give you gems even if you do not spend money

Save your technoblade , Use them for t4 [ You will cry afterwards if you dont ]

Get trickster to gold and get construction/research gear

Do not train any troops - They are useless

You will need shield if you train troops

That is 1000 gem gone everyday, You can instead focus on saving gems for t4

First focus on getting your castle to Level 24 or Castle Level 25 (to unlock the third Lunar Flute). Try not to use speedups on buildings. It is not worth it and you’ll need them for later. And DO NOT waste your gems. Just save them!
Get your Treasure Trove to Level 8 or 9 as soon as possible!
Next, turn all your focus on research. Just focus on the Economy Tree. Finish everything in that tree. It will help you with the resources that you’ll need to complete the rest of the tasks.
Now go back to the specialty buildings (Prison, Altar, Battle Hall) and build them up to level 25. You will also need special items. Buy them in bulk. Spend some of your gems on it (keep in mind that you’ll need 600k)! This process will take a longer than you think. Lords Mobile will require you to finish lots of other buildings before you can get around to finishing the specialty buildings.

Be P2P (Pay to Play). This is an easy tip. Just take someone’s credit card (not necessarily your own) and just start swiping. Buy packs of gems and packs of speedups. Who needs to eat. Eat virtual food instead…
Bring the Trickster Hero to Gold. If your main focus in the reach T4 fast then skip Rose Knight (who is awesome at war) and max Trickster straight away.
Research Gear and Construction Gear. This is critical! Do NOT underestimate the gear in Lords Mobile. Unlock your gear and max it as soon as possible!
Monster Hunting. Just do it! Monster Hunt the heck out of your kingdom! You will need as many gifts as you can get.
Do you Really Need T4?

I consider F2P (free to play) as players that spend nothing or under $10 a month.

The answer is simple! Yes. Spending $1,000’s a month will make the process go a lot faster, but a F2P castle shouldn’t have any trouble unlocking T4 Troops.

It will be very hard for F2P to unlock T4 before a year of playing, but it is possible.

One strong tip would be to join a monster-hunting guild. You will really need those gifts.

So on there for now you only want to focus on the right hand side of the tree, mostly construction and research spend all the points on them, you’ll have to use 1-3 points on others to unlock them

Max them as much as your talents let you

When constructing, make sure your help bar is completely full before trying to use speed ups so you save as much as possible

If you CAN find some gear that helps with construction and research (in the forge it’ll say what boosts the gear gives look for construction speed and research speed)

If your doing allot of building pop a construction boost if you have any, and try ask your overlord for a construction title for 5 minutes they’ll hopefully let you use it

And at your stage that’s about all you need to do to make it as efficient as possible

Oh n make sure your in an active guild where people can help you with resources when you need etc

You can only join one if there's one ongoing. But you can start one

You need a battle hall.

To get started, begin with Darknests. They are a very easy way to practise rallying, and you don't lose troops (though 1% of your army may go to infirmary) so it's low cost and you can get nice rewards from essence

Ask in your guild chat if anyone can start a Darknests rally. Or start one yourself.

I'm assuming you're a very new player here. Pick a darkest level 1 near your Castle. Tap it and you can scout it. Then you get a report of what heroes and troops are inside (might be approximate if your watch Tower is low level). Then you tap the Darknest, select "rally attack" and set a rally. Start with 10 minutes (if that fills up very fast you can try 5 minutes next time, or if it doesn't get members join you can try 1 hour). This works better if you're in a hive with your guild, so people can join nearby.
Select your leader and best heroes (ideally with army skills), put in some troops (ideally ones that will counter what's in the nest, but if you're just starting out, send what you got). Guild mates will join the rally and then it will walk and attack the Darknest. Put war equipment on if you have it.

Pretty much anyone can beat a level 1 nest, so it's possible even for beginners. Use them to practise 😊

Be in the best guild you can.
Participate in every event.
Hunt often.
Gather a lot.

Definitely stay where you are, if you leave you can't go back. Later you can easily change kingdoms everyday. Novice Relocator is best used as a simple relocator, it's for alt accounts to qucikly bring their alts near their mains.
