General Help Chat

I'm guilty of this too, as many of us are, but using general chat for advice ends in long threads that have little to do with just hanging out and chatting about S/V life.

It's getting a little silly having to repeatedly direct people to Serebii or Bulbapedia for basic gameplay mechanics. I'm all for helping...but can we get a dedicated channel just for gameplay help?

I respectfully disagree with this suggestion :) would just mean sending people to the dedicated channel instead haha, we have pins and quick links so it's normally fine !

Some people in GenChat will answer questions, but most of the regulars in there don't play pokemon SV, so most will just direct you or others to the channels you do need. As for a channel for dedicated game play help, it depends what you need if you want general talk about SV #sv_discussion discussion is for you, if you need competitive help #competitive_discussion if you need help with breeding in pokemon then #breeding_discussion if you want raids or strats #tera_raids or #tera_strategy_discussion

if there was a clear place to ask for help titled #help-chat, and it was put in the rules or something then the majority of people would head there. Its hard to get help sometimes because people dont like to interrupt their convos (with good reason). Help chat would be GREAT

#server_questions is usually where folk post up general questions about the server or discord in general

sure i mean you CAN ask questions anywhere, just think a help chat would be really efficient for this server, a dedicated channel for quick answers and designated helpers who can walk people through things they dont get without disrupting conversations

We do have designated helpers about it and their channels are usually where the questions get asked/answered by members of the channel or the channel helpers themselves
