My game crashed and I got softlocked! What do I do :(
I beat the Yell Grunts, got the Water Bike, ran into a Mantyke… then the game crashed as soon as I tried to throw a Pokéball, and reopening caused it to lock, I think… There is no doctor, the Grunts don’t try to battle me if I interact, but I don’t have the water bike in my inventory. Is there any way to fix this?!

Try pressing UP, X and B at the same time at the title screen to see if the game will load the previous savefile before this one.
That one may be before the softlock, assuming you haven't saved since.
If you have, and retracing your steps backwards to see if there's a missed NPC or story trigger doesn't work, you may be out of luck.
If you're truly stuck (even on the backup savefile), it's best to move all your valuable Pokemon into HOME, and just wipe the savefile data and restart.
Also, make sure to disable auto-saving in the game settings either way. If it crashes mid-save, or saves after a softlock starts, that's how these issues can happen in the first place.
