40/40 is pretty expensive this league, with doryani's machinarum being 40d, the astrolabe challenge requiring like 10d of astrolabes, and multiple currency spending challenges. You'll probably want to spend a bit more on your build so you can farm up currency for the expensive challs.
36/40 is doable on a much lower budget, just look for a build that can sprint maps to get through the random league mechanic/scarab spending/many map challenges, then ask for boss carries for pinnacles/nightmare bosses

those are exarch runes, from the map mod "Area contains Runes of the Searing Exarch". The solution to not dying to them is not standing still in the degen, burning to death. Try moving, they do incredibly low damage but disable all forms of recovery so as soon as you step out of the square you'll instantly start healing up again

You can get any transfigured gem out of even the first labyrinth's font, but your only real "option" there is going to offer you random transfigures with you only able to pick the color. (Transform a Skill Gem to be a random Transfigured Gem of the same colour) So you might be there for a while.

The craft you'd want here would be Transform a non-Transfigured Skill Gem to a Transfigured version, which lets you pick a guaranteed transfigured gem, provided you have the non-transfigured version of the exact skill you want. (of course, Ele Hit only has one transfigured version...)

This seems to only appear in Merciless, Eternal/"Uber," and enriched labs. The chance for a craft offered in a selection of four crafts is the same ~6% between Merciless, Eternal & Enriched labs, but of course you can get more uses (and thus chances) at it.

If you're SSF and have difficulty farming up offerings, I'd just stick to Merciless lab.

I can host 5 unique players per go.
The map is mine.
If I fail it, it cost the customer nothing.

Flip that around:

Maven Boss - free for vouch. YOUR map.
This carries risk and builds trust because if I fail it on YOUR map, will I reimburse you?

That's where vouches count the most.

As a new player, how long would it take to do 100% Atlas

depends on your willingness to follow a guide/be handheld through the process, but in general a slower player should spend 5-6 hours of playtime on campaign, a similar amount of time getting first voidstone (getting to t16), and maybe a little longer than that completing the atlas. So 15-20 hours of playtime, plus probably 4-5 hours sitting around figuring stuff out would be my guess for a beginner.
