I would like to be able to take a screenie of your whole farm like you can in SDV. I haven't found a way to zoom out enough to capture the whole farm in the game. There is an image of the entire farm in the cut sceene just after you arrive. It would be nice to be able to update that picture as you progress. It is also fun to share pictures of your farm with friends who play and compare layouts.

When you add things to your storage chest, it adds automatically without having to drag and click. I would love if the same thing happened reverse. When I grab something from my chest to my bag, I have to drag it to a bag slot with my cursor. It's small, but it would be a huge quality of life change.

I would love if we could change the color of storage chests, similar to stardew valley. It helps me stay organized and color coded when I have them all lined up next to each other. I like to make crops green, ocean items and fish blue, ore black, etc.

the issue with this idea is that people 100% would use this feature to a) rid the game of the prideflag that's been very important to the devs as stated time and time again b) use a different probably offensive design to then shame the game for making it possible

It would be cool if we had an additional flag that we can chose out for us (with either pre-set designs like other LGBT flags or country flags or just some funky CI designs like a flag of Chimkin! - or an insane filter because there has been a very big discriminating side to the game's fandom that hated on the prideflag and representation in things race, gender, religion, character very loudly) but definitively not change the current flags

The game ‘Our life beginning and always (which has a huge emphasis on the ocean)’ also has really, really fitting characters like Cove Holden, his dad Clifford Holden and many other characters who would fit really well into coral island’s aesthetic.

I think characters from ff14 like Y’shtola/Gra’ha Tia etc could be in more magical areas. Would be nice if other characters from other games can be implemented somehow via mods, maybe they arrived in town due to magic/whirlpool/portals XD.

I’d put in feedback asking for a “camera lock” feature and share that feedback with other devs when you can. Accessibility in gaming has really grown recently and that doesn’t seem like an unreasonable request to either lock a camera or have a system that limits motion sickness potential

I think especially in later Game, If you have all the crops, trees and animals the shipping bin is too small. You wouldn't be able to sell all the stuff you get each day.
And the Second Thing I would really Love to have is a better sorting system for the Chests. Right now it is very time consuming to Take Things Out of them. Maybe we could Switch with one Button between fast Transfer and the slow one for both directions? So normally its the fast one, but if you want to Sort the chest you can Switch to the other?

I am reviving this from the depths. I love rival marriages. Rival marriages were so well done in a few other games so it is definitely possible. I think that the rival marriages should be set, but don’t start happening until after you are married. Then they happen over the span of a couple years. This also simplifies it and allows them to have set children. Your first child is tied to who you marry , but has your hair or skin color or something. I really like the matchmaking element, but it does complicate the children aspect. If the matchmaking aspect was included, we could probably tie the child’s personality/general looks to their mother and give the hair color/skin color of the father.

That would be perfect! I came here exactly to suggest a manual save for this game, since it crashes so much. When I go collecting geodes in the mines or fossils in the ocean, the game has a 50% chance of crashing it seems @.@ Then I lose the whole day and have to replay it AGAIN. And thats so frustrating! Also, this save system of "saving by the end of the day" is so old fashioned, adding manual save would be an improvement. And for people who doesnt agree with manual save, you arent obliged to use it. wemod can cause problems with the game that wouldn't be there if you were playing it sans mod
so, if you have a file with wemod, you can't report bugs or crashes and they can't help you with that specific file

or if you want to try it with an old file/main, dupe that file, rename it, and then use wemod on it

100% agree with you. Huge head, large torso and tiny legs. It seems to me they have no idea about the human proportions. Strange enough, the drawn characters, apart of a few peculiarities are perfectly fine.

I think part of it is the top-down view is emphasizing the top heavy look.
I mean they are still stylized but I wouldn’t say they have no idea of human proportion. Just look at the images of Theo and Alice models - much more regular looking.

The avatar model originally looked much worse, it's still not perfect - and many of the animations are frankly terrible (mining, swinging a hammer the same as you would a sword, crop watering is like throwing the water, etc)

I wouldn't mind model/animation improvements but it's a very big ask on account of being 3d and whatnot. Animation changes would need scripts, which we don't have access to yet and some games never give you access to.

Be interesting if this becomes as moddable as stardew/skyrim but I am not holding my breath.

Yeah I’m interested to see how much can be accessed for modders but since Mod Support has been a stretch goal of the game since the very beginning I’m feel pretty confident on that aspect. You’re right though - unsure of the lvl of access people would need to change ingame animation.

But I think it mostly boils down to how many modders that have 3D modeling/animation knowledge are interested in the game.

Skyrim had (and still has) and immense audience and huge open world and so attracted a lot of talented people.
Farm sim games as much as well love them don’t have quite such a wide appeal - especially if modding required learning a new skill.

Stardew has a million mods but its artwork is only pixels. Adding new items to the game requires only a 1 dimensional piece of art. Also it’s been out for a few years now so people have had alot of time to create advanced mods adding whole new locations.

I haven’t played My Time at Portia/Sandrock but I know it’s another popular one. Are there many mods for it? Or rather do they support modding? That might give us a hint at the capabilities

My time at Portia does have a nexus page, but if I recall correctly it doesn't have many mods. Most of them are simple recolours. Some of them tweak character looks a bit. (Like eye placement)

But at least form when I last checked, it doesn't have anything in depth. But i don't think it gave the players any sort of modding tools to make mods with. And no scripts.

Scripts are the core of modding. If you got rid of script extender for skyrim or smapi for stardew, all you could do for mods is simple recolours. And in stardews case, replacing the xnb files.

I think a more accurate game to compare coral Island to when it comes to modding potential might be the sims over Portia. Many simmers branch into farming Sims like this.

Sadly coral Island may have burned its bridges to really put itself out there with its release. It could have used some more time in the oven, thoroughly testing Xbox and whatnot, fix the grammar/spelling mistakes, and at minimum complete the main story.

Did you ever see mods for Ark Survival evolved? They are crazily detailed, all in 3d, some with new animations
And I cannot say that it's that big audience in comparison to skyrim or Sims 3/4

I'm very sorry but your response makes me really infuriated. Not mad at you, but that logic is unacceptable in my humble opinion. And I hope you'll take a moment to entertain my views and step away for a moment to consider a different perspective.

When a developer says a game is 1.0, it is a full game. No Alpha, No Beta, No Early Access, it's a finished game. I've waited years and years for this. And 1.0 has passed, we have a finished game because the developers said so. And yes developers will constantly make new content just as Eric Barone still continues to make content years and years and YEARS after Stardew Valley was done, which means the goalpost keeps moving. Bugs will always need squashing and will never run out, new content will always be on the horizon, there's a never-ending amount of stuff to do for any developer. By that slippery slope, we could say that 1.5 is the time to do mods. But that's not 1.0, when the game should have mods.

Pix also said "we won't have modding framework till the game is finished" -- no it's finished. It's 1.0. It's finished. Everything else is a cherry and whipped cream on top. You write 1.0, it is a full game. Full stop.

But if you promised a mod-friendly community from the beginning, and said it will be released with the game, that moment already passed. And I realize the response is "well they're not modders, modders have to do it." To which the logical response is that the staff should be actively reaching out to the modding community and not sit there expecting the work to be done for them. With this said, there should be no room for white-knighting or excusing the developers for not keeping that promise. One of their staff members was hired for exactly this, to oversee mods.

I and many others paid money way over the MSRP price to donate to this game and see its success. We still want the game to succeed. I'm not here to hate on them -- I want this game to be successful. And I get there will be bugs, this isn't my first rodeo in the 1.0 world with an indie developer. But if you promised something to keep the game alive, it's still not ready, the devs have hired a large enough team. Where's that person hired for mods now? Who are they approaching? There's plenty of farming sim modders out there that should be actively reached out to and discuss how the coding works and what they can be doing behind the scenes. Are they giving any incentives to help start the first round of mods?

Constructively, I don't see any reason why the development team can't be reaching out right this second to mod developers, show them their code, show them how it works, and say "have fun, any questions please ask, we'll support you and help in any way that we can!" We're not seeing that.

and same here? I too am a Kickstarter backer but whether game was bought recently or 2 years ago doesn't change that they released a 1.0 version, not an everything is complete right now version. I'd like to suggest these modded changes: 1) change the orb to be a craftable item so we don't have to find it under garbage. 2) change the beacons to clear all remaining trash in their area of influence in addition to clearing away the sludge and dark roots. I think these two changes could hugely reduce the tedium of underwater cleanup so I hope someone with a particular skill set gets inspired by these changes.

Here are a few suggestions I was thinking of 🤔. 1) please add save at anytime in case we can't play the entire day and have to get off
2) please add upgrade to greenhouse like we did with house for more rooms of same equivalence
3) because trees take a lot of space in greenhouse, how about from lab a heat lamp? To place with fruit trees and fruit crops only so they can flourish all seasons as they would in greenhouse. I think it would help and help with issues placing them in greenhouse.
3) upgraded house more. I've seen everyone else homes and their places have actual bedrooms and more space where's as we only get two more kids rooms we can't do anything with and a spouses room we also can't do anything with. I'd like to be able to have an actual bedroom for self and a room for a living room besides the kitchen space. More rooms allow us to decorate more and be creative.
4) ability to fast travel from map. This could really help save time rather than having to find another teleport spot in order to say get back to farm fast enough.
5) more clothes options. I see NPC's wearing some cute stuff and I'd love to have clothes like that as well.

Number 4 is in the game, there is a consumable item you unlock the crafting recipe for when you finish the advanced altar called warp sesajen that is made with 3 flowers that you consume and it pulls up the fast travel map

I said this same thing to my husband in real life. There’s some great mods on Nexus rn. Not very many yet, but there’s some that change how tools work and one that changes skin details for one of the frames, etc, so non-trainer-style multigame mods are also available for anyone interested

One increases the power and radius of tools, one I’m using right now I was using to catch higher quality fish/bugs/forage quicker, and then I’ll uninstall

There’s also one that skips the intro, which is a great qol mod to have early-on in a game’s lifespan

First off, modding is not done by the team (otherwise it wouldn't be called modding, it'd just be "in the game"). Secondly, the team has stated multiple times that they advocate representing inclusivity and will not consider removal of the flag. Thirdly, you're free to create that mod for yourself, but we won't be allowing any advocation of the sort here, as that goes against inclusivity as a whole.

Hey, Im happy playing the beta, but i just missing Save Game in any moment, not only when we go to sleep (dont know if this is the channel for it). Sometimes, beta or live game crash in X moment late in the day, and you have to start the day again losing all progress from the day. Maybe live game can get a free save command?? I played for many years to games, and i learned the lesson of "Save many times as you can" because if game crash in any moment, you lose all progression... Just im missing this here in Coral Island. But the rest, i think its a good game and im enjoying game time there.

I love the idea of being able to take family photos. One of my favorite things to do in Sims is to take pictures and decorate the houses with them. Makes it feel so much more homey. I saw someone mention wanting a way to decorate better, i.e. moving things up and down the walls, half tile placement, things like that, and I definitely would want that if it doesn't get added in vanilla.

I personally would also like a way to either skip or really strip down the difficulty of some of the minigames. Almost none of them are actually fun for me. I tend to try them once or twice, possibly get incredibly lucky and win or fail miserably, finish the festival feeling frustrated, go to sleep, and then quit the game for a few hours.
