Hello everyone! Apologies if this is the wrong place to put this - I am struggling with the 'find a way to open the gate' task for the ocean. I have done 20/20 heals in Se Pulu and Dua Pulu, I have had the cut scene with Lina for the new suit but I cannot speak to any animals still and don't know how to a)speak to the animals and b) have any tips for opening the gate? Speaking to animals : on current version you cant yet ;D, and it has nothing to do with opening the gate

-Have you got diving suit 2.0 ?
-Have you completed atleast one bundle of offerings?

Usually if you already do that you can open the gate just fine. So theres a symbol on the gate and floor. You step on those symbols on the floor in order

J. Doe is a pretty common 'everyperson' name - a John or Jane Doe, in the US, is used in investigations where a person's identity is unknown (say, an unknown body). I'd say they're unlikely to make an appearance because it's specifically a generic name.

As for the game progress reset, yeah thats true everything will be reseted yet. But there are newgame+ that allows you to have added starting money. Based on total earning on your early access save file, with that you can start the game more easily 😄

You can either wait for 1.0 to start freshly
Or play now to get some money to have an easier start

I found the tug of war was just a constant spam the button to win. You can see everyone have little bars of their power, the NPCs will have rest times where they don't pull as much. After a while of just mashing the button my teammates get their strength and we win

The swimming I have yet to figure out the timing and when to take a rest to regain stamina for a win. I can get 3rd at best.

You will unlock a small variety of winter seeds once you reach rank C, or you can use wild seeds for guaranteed Tea. But many games just don't have a winter crop at all

The earth gems you get from the giants aren't the only things you can use for enchanting! You can use any gemstone/mineral, any fossil and any artefact. They all have different values (some are worth only 20, others 100), so not all of them are good picks, but so long as you reach a value of 100, you can enchant. Excess points can even carry over into the next enchantment

I hesitantly bought the game but have had minimal bugs and have put well over 140 hours now. Only game breaking bug I encountered was a missing chest after using the architect desk. (It had all my resources in it) loaded a save file and all is good. I have heard of more errors on Xbox so glad I got it on steam. Maybe I'm just lucky

There was a glitch where if you played in the early access beta branch after 1.0, you would no longer be able to do a NG+ with that save. So, because I have a backup, would it make any sense to replace a save I never used with that backup of my original save, open that up in the early access beta branch, leaving the actual save untouched so I can still do a NG+ while also having access to my progress before 1.0???
I hope that made more sense, I know it’s confusing lol, I don’t know how else to word it lol 😅 sorry for the confusion lol 😂

I wouldn't use the beta branch at all honestly because you'll still have to start over. You can just make a copy of that file if you wanna do the EA beta. Just save it to your desktop and delete it when you come back out of the beta branch

Once it's deleted paste it back in the folder and then it should be NG+ at that point

The issue is that Microsoft and Sony have their internal processes for updates. Stairway can push an update through to Steam on their own, but all they can do for XBOX, Gamepass and PS5 is send it over to them.

The only extra thing you need to do is copy and paste the dailysave_0 to your desktop and then just change the number and paste it right back in there

So literally just dailysave_1

And then when you load the game, you'll see all the times you pasted it back in there

That's how games like this have always been saved. It is also because of how the back ups are created. They're created at the end of the day when you save.

I still have the early access beta glitch where I have never gotten the new version of the game. When I load, it loads my year 3 save that I sold everything off in while waiting for the update. Support has not responded to my emails in months after claiming they'd fix this SO long ago, it's nuts. Was there ever a fix and can anyone point me to it? Im feeling the same. I love the game but with all the bugs I've come across it's stressing me out to the point where I'm panicking how my manage my time before it randomly crashes 😬 its so upsetting because I love the game

I'm not looking for a file, I'm stuck in my original early access game. Permanently. My first game, year 3, was EA and I've never been able to get into the new game in 1.0 to play it. This was a known issue from the day that they launched 1.0, we were supposed to get a prompt to ask us to start a new game in the new version and a lot of us didn't get that. There were posts all over the forums about it and support was emailing us that they would get it fixed but I seriously think it might have been a year almost now and they haven't fixed it as far as I know. I have sent multiple follow-up emails back to theirs asking them if there's any fix yet or not and they had to even responded in months. So it's not that I have lost one of my game saves or a file, it's that I do not have access to the new version of the game and I am stuck in my original year 3 game from Early Access where we were supposed to sell everything off which I did and then our coins were supposed to transfer into the new game. I don't have the new game, I can't load into it or play it. Which means I'm just sitting stuck in an old version of the game with none of the new features and all of my stuff sold off. I can't start over because if I start over that version of the game and then they managed to fix this I will still lose all progress and have to load into the new version of the game.

It's not set to EA anymore or to beta in Steam, it is updated. This was a persistent problem for a lot of people months back and I have never seen that the solution was posted for any of them. Most of us just did not get the prompt to move to the new game and the developers were unable to figure out why at that time and told us they would have a solution by November. I don't see that that's ever happened, this was a specific issue that a lot of people had. It would still just load us into our old game without starting a new game at the prompt like it did for most people.

A lot of the people who had issues had added the “beta” branch to sell everything off before trying to start an NG+ file. But when they then tried to go back into the main game with that file it didn’t do the prompt for NG+. The “beta” branch wasn’t meant to be played. It was just meant to be a place to look at your farm. So as soon as they slept and saved the save wasn’t compatible any longer for NG+. The devs said that there wasn’t a fix for it as the “beta” branch isn’t compatible with the new save system.

No, but I did try reinstalling. And I don't need to retrieve a file. I just want to play the 1.0 update. No lost file, I just never got a prompt for the game update to start a new game. If I start a new game now, it still loads in the old environment like I'm not in 1.0.

@honest patrol the banana is a fruit plant. You had to till the ground the plant that item. It is not a real "tree". I know it looks like one.

White bag = fruit plant- 2 seasons, tilled ground, must water

Brown bag= fruit tree- no till or water, 28 days to grow, sleeps in off season

Right, that crosses the big issue off the list, then. And I assume by that metric, you've never manipulated the save files in any other way, e.g., replacing the mainline save with a backup save, etc.? Because this has happened before, but only in cases where people have moved the game files from gamepass to steam, or other such scenarios. In those cases, there was nothing the devs could do to help since it was a known and unsupported issue. But with your one, there might at least be something they can do. Hopefully they'll be able to help eventually, but it's come at a bit of an awkward time given that the beta will be releasing soon and a lot of resources will go towards that instead 😅

You'd be somewhat correct in that that's about how long they used to last, about six weeks. But that doesn't account for how long it takes for players to find bugs and devs to get rid of them, and the beta contains a huge amount of content. It will need a lot of luck, to be honest

Hello, I was just wondering if you guys were aware there's some issues when using controllers to play the game on pc. I downloaded it off my xbox game pass for pc back in March or April and it worked fine then. But recently I tried to get back into playing the game and it suddenly no longer works with my Xbox controller synched to my laptop. There are several issues from the joysticks not functioning when trying to select things through the menu's as well as when I try and interact with items or harvest crops it keeps trying to pull up a text box to type in. I really hope this is fixed soon as I miss playing this game.

@main pilot do you have Steam running? I am not sure why on my end but a few months ago having Steam running when playing an Xbox game caused some major controller malfunctions. Took me a bit to figure out it was Steam causing it. Apparently it doesn't like giving up control of the controller if your using the Steam mapping options for Steam games.
