  1. Physics & frame-rate issues

GTA IV’s physics (especially vehicle handling) are tightly tied to frame rate.

This already caused issues on PC

A PS5 port would need decoupling physics from FPS

That’s one of the bigger technical tasks — but still solvable.

  1. Licensed content (music)

GTA IV has a huge licensed soundtrack.

Many licenses have expired

Rockstar would need to renegotiate or remove tracks

This is one of the biggest non-technical roadblocks.

  1. Business priorities

Rockstar currently focuses on:

GTA Online

GTA VI

A GTA IV port:

Won’t generate GTA Online–level revenue

Competes internally for dev resources

This is likely the real reason it hasn’t happened yet.
