Hi.
I wanted to see if there was a plugin I could use to control the microphone input level (adjusting volume up and down) that works with either Stream Deck, Stream Deck Mini or Stream Deck Neo (edit: or the pedal).

I tried downloading the Wave Link plugin and got told to get the Wave Link app/program. I installed but it just crashes/shuts down. A window shows up, empty, and then it dies.
When reinstalling it says it is already installed, but does not show up under programs you can uninstall with Windows.

*I did notice that on the Elgato site under Wave Link my devices were not listed as supported. But it feels off that the program doesn't work at all even if so.

Bottom line: Is there any plugin I can use to control mic volume?

Volume controller plugin is the one from Elgato that can change the levels and mutes of system audio devices (instead of controlling wave link)

When it's right, nobody notices.

And then when they get their first camera or mic and come in with questions about.... I just spent X money on this and it looks/sounds bad...

Yeah, because the streamer you follow who is using the same mic or camera also put a lot of effort into refining their lights and room acoustics, and without that, every mic and camera will sound bad.
And all the magic software filters aren't going to replace good lighting and acoustics. No matter what Nvidia says...

All current Elgato cards only have HDMI, but you can get a composite (3 colors) to HDMI adapter and it should work

You should be able to plug the PS2 with adapter into the input on the Elgato card, then connect the output to the TV in HDMI mode

Like on the hd60 capture card I would go to settings then picture and there would be 4 bars what you can move up and down brightness, colour, contrast and hud but on the 4k x capture card can't seem to find that option do you get what I mean and thanks for helping @barren kettle

Anyone know of a Wall Mount mic arm Adaptor that fits the MK.2 Wave mic arm?

Only things i can find is a post from like two years ago where someone made a custom one, or there are Etsy products for them but for the low profile ones and not the MK.2 which wouldn't work unfortunately.
Any Standard wall mount mic arms annoyingly only fit a 12mm pole and the MK.2 is 15mm. Plus i do not yet have a 3d printer so unfortunately can't do my own.

Starting to think i may just need to get the Desk plate flange mount and drill some holes into a standard metal bracket to get the job done

$500 CAD here. It's not a cheap board - if you don't need the Stream Deck display, the Vanguard 96 is usually about half the price and uses the same MLX Pulse switches, with 5 G-Keys that are Stream Deck programmable on the left edge (and one co-pilot key that's been taken for a 6th by defualt). The Vangaurd Pro 96 is the same thing but with Hall Effect switches. Not quite a full Stream Deck like the Galleon but depending on what you're doing with the keys it might fit the bill.

Ah, 4K S would still be a notable upgrade from HD60 S. 60 S has no high refresh rate or resolutions above 1080p at all.
4K X usually goes on sale a few times through the year though, if you think you'd need the HDMI 2.1 modes later.

I've deleted the plug in many times and reinstalled but it still seems to not work after a couple of days. any help is really appreciated

Is it Worth buying the xlr dock mk2 over the physical Wave XLR mk2? If I already own a stream deck plus and the original Wave XLR? of course you lose out on the mute functionality the MK.2 dock misses out on but obviously can be rebinded of course

Honestly it's pretty much personal preference, if you're only ever using it with the one PC. The dial does allow some basic hardware control on Wave XLR compared to the Dock which is all Stream Deck/Wave Link controlled, but if you're always going to be running it on PC or mac with the app, that's not usually an issue. Beyond the hardware mute, and direct dial settings you already noted they're pretty much identical performance wise (though Wave XLR does allow settings to be saved to the hardware if you're switching it betweeen PCs or something, Dock is software config only excluding DSP iirc).

Hi there.

I just want to ask the community a question.

I recently notice that every time i start up my computer, my input will automatically set the volume to 0 in the windows sound setting. I am using a third party mic, passing through wave link 3.0 and set the mic to the a Chat Mixer (Where discord and default communication is set).

Is there anyone experience this bug or is just windows?

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong section. I'm having an issue with Wave Link 3.0: whenever I go full screen while screen sharing on Discord, my friends hear an echo of the stream's audio. This only happens in Discord. It seems like Discord is capturing the audio coming from the interface into the system, which shouldn't be happening. Any ideas?

It's a pity, of course. It's surprising that so few people talk about such an unpleasant issue. I have one more question then. Is there a way to switch the microphone from stereo to mono mode in Wave Link? I've tried using plugins, but unfortunately, they didn't help. It's also a minor detail that's easily fixed in other programs, but I'm just curious if there's a way to convert the sound directly

Anyway, yeah currently wave link doesn’t support multi-channel interfaces correctly and the workaround for now until they fix it, is to use a plugin that can pan a signal to move it back to center.
Somebody put up one in the marketplace called mono-something —I forget the exact name— it has a lot of yellow in the interface.
I have one called protility that is free and you can find by google easily.

I'm on MacOS Tahoe and using either Chrome or FireFox. I select my product from the download list and Mac button on the right is already selected but nothing is happening prompting me to download it. Instead I am presented with a CTA for "Test beta software", why? How come I just can't download the app for product I need?

Kind of up to you.
The most stressful part of it all is encoding which es essentially free on GPUs since it uses silicon separate from what renders games… but compositing the scene together with OBS or whichever app does load the computer a little, depending on how complicated it is.

That said, I play VR so every % of performance is meaningful to me, so I have a second PC for recording or streaming.
(And VR also encodes video to send wireless to my headset, so I’m quite stressful on the encoding chip)

hello i have done the wavelink 3.0 update today and i have directed Discord to my voice chat channel however i can only hear the actual app nouises like conecting and disconnecting but not actually the voices of the poeple in chat. Ony the app sounds. Any ideas?

i've had this thought since i purchased my elgato capture card, but wouldn't it be an incredibly profitable and sought after situation for elgato to make a server-hub or profile system so that people could set up keyboard controllers and controllers for their trusted friends to be able to connect to elgato servers -> local elgato app -> elgato device -> wired controller connection to actual console? the electric engineering on that wouldn't be too complex, the same way that 3rd party controller manufacturers have been able to make chips and circuit boards for multi-use bluetooth and wired controllers for pc/xbox/ps/switch for years. i for one would be incredibly interested even if i needed to pay a monthly or yearly fee. there are a lot of people i know i would be interested in seeing playing coop nintendo switch games, coop vr games, and everything else which two or more people could do if you invited them over to play console games, but at the complete convenience of just the guy who has the console and whoever is paying for the service.

not that i'm one to know the correct market timing for sales and all, but it makes sense to me that significant profit could be made by releasing this with a sale on capture cards and maybe a free trial of this service alongside them

Studio is still missing some features from 4KCU like Flashback recording, but is bulit on a new engine with high refresh rate support, has newer firmware files, supports newer hardware like 4K S, and doesn't run into issues with the new NVidia drivers like 4KCU. Typically Studio is the better option unless you need the flashback recording or voiceover at the moment (and those later ones will likely make their way to Studio too, based on what the team's said on stream.

USB c is a connector. It’s just the shape of the connector.

And that’s a data cable, not just power.

But yes, a cable with the connectors you need is the preferred option (usb C on one end and usb A on the other, in your case)
But an adapter will work if it’s wired for enough data speed. Needs that 10gbps or faster.

The rectangular connector you’re calling “usb” is usb a.
There is also B and a few others even less popular.

USB A is the typical one from years ago, still popular on most computer motherboards.
USB C is the new type that all phones use, is typical for charging now… etc.

They are both usb connectors.

The Stream Deck XL was legitimately a game-changer for me. I have a full:

  • Soundboard setup, running via the Stream Deck software itself (not Voicemod or Soundpad!)
  • Discord control system, including buttons to mute/unmute friends close to me and to see chat indicators
  • Media control system including my Wave Link output sources, volume, and Spotify
    • Dedicated Medal clip and long recording buttons in there too, since I'm mainly there
  • Section for system stat readouts, with binds to go to Task Manager, the NVIDIA App, or AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, depending on stats
  • **AN ENTIRE PANIC BUTTON FOR IF SOMEONE COMES INTO MY ROOM UNANNOUNCED THAT, IN ORDER, MUTES MY EXTERNAL MIC, MINIMIZES EVERY WINDOW, MUTES AND DEAFENS ON DISCORD AS SEPARATE ACTIONS, PAUSES ANYTHING THAT MAY HAVE BEEN PLAYING, SWITCHES TO AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT DECOY PROFILE, AND LOCKS MY COMPUTER **
  • System tools section to run scripts to fix some common issues I have with my programs
  • Power options section to easily shutdown, sleep, hibernate, restart, or lock my PC at the press of a single button
  • Area of widgets to track the timezones of close friends to figure out what time it is for them

I'd certainly say it has made my life infinitely more convenient

And that's without any knobs or screen widgets! Now that I have the Galleon 100 SD, I have access to knobs and screen widgets, so sky's the limit there!

The best advice I can give though is such: if you're considering a Stream Deck, use the Stream Deck Mobile app on your phone with a stand. It's a phenomenal way to emulate something like the Stream Deck Mini for completely free, to try before you buy. From there, consider your needs.

If you were getting by just fine with those 6 keys, but want to be able to use your phone at the same time, Stream Deck Mini. Need more space? Stream Deck with ribbon keys (thank me later, the regular keys feel mushy because they're membrane). Need knobs, a touchribbon, additional USB ports, or even an XLR input? Stream Deck+ (with the USB port or XLR input stand if you need that). Need even more space? Stream Deck XL. Good news is that in a pinch you can replace the cables on any current Facecam with a USB 3.0 or faster USB-C to USB-A cable.

Is there any way I can talk to a moderator about the stream deck?
There is a feature I requested YEARS ago and that I am still waiting.
it was only added partially, you can set wallpapers in the stream deck app but I always asked if it was possible to put an animated picture instead of a still image as this wallpaper. It would be incredible if we could display a website too so we would be able to display anything. It could be wired to external services and events etc (like signal or open rgb).
I asked for this like 3 or 4 years ago. Many times but never got any awnser. Would you mind giving some info on if this is even possible or planned ?

does anyone have any recommendations for microphones if youre sharing a room with another person? i really want the elgato wave 3 which i have returned once where i tried the wavelink software with that AI noise suppresion thing on max aswell as discords noise suppresion. the mic sounded really nice but i was concerned that it would pick up too much noise but now i see that it went down from 170 dollars to 115 dollars on amazon and i kinda wanna buy it again. can anyone recommend me something else which is also high quality but not too much money thats a dynamic mic instead?
