There are programs that flip screens so you could probably tie that program's key binds to your buttons.

The key phrase to look for is "panic button."

Panic button apps have been around for awhile, I think most of them can be used to open specific programs so when the boss walks it a key stroke brings up your email or something.

Hey guys, I have a question for you.
I’m thinking about buying a Stream Deck for multiple purposes. One of them is using it with Adobe Illustrator.
I’m undecided between the Elgato Stream Deck XL and the Elgato Stream Deck+.
I feel like the Stream Deck+ might give me more work because of the few buttons navigation. I want quick access to my shortcuts.
I’m not sure if I’m missing something, so I’d really appreciate any advice on this.

The Dialstacks you can create with the Stream Deck+ aswell as ease of adjusting toolsizes, transparency etc with the Dials quickly is what I'd say, but you also have access to 10 Pages of Buttons/Dials that you easily swipe between on the Touchstrip

there are readymade profiles you can purchase also if you'd rather not set it up yourself

An argument for the plus would be, that you could use the knobs for more precise fine tuning of items. So if you need to change brush sizes, you could use the knobs to increase/decrease size with more precision than just mouse clicking

Those firmware updates for Switch 2 compatibility were only coming for Facecam Mk2 and Neo, not the original model.

Which Utility app? 4K Capture Utilty for Windows or Capture Device Utility for macOS? For both Elgato Studio is a replacement - though it can't do quite everything 4KCU can do yet (though it does do some things it can't like high refresh rate recording).

That effect requires an Nvidia GPU, you're best off using other application's implementations if there is any for mac

For future reference all camera related questions go to the cameras and prompter channel #camera-prompter . Facecam's lineup doesn't get it's own channel.
But that said macOS (14 and later) already has built in video effects you can trigger for most webcam setups that include things like background blur (portrait mode) and background replacement - these should work just fine with Facecam.

I think YouTube is the only major platform doing 4K streaming at the moment, though Twitch has it in Beta

Though a lot of folks record in 4K for other video uploads, or in some cases even just VOD archives so they have higher res local copies

The upside of having higher resolution for cameras is that you’re able to zoom FAR without losing quality, no one streams in 4K since most people watch on their phones or in a browserwindow and not in fullscreen

When opening the 4k Capture Utility I'm seeing Source:2160p23 and Capture: 2160p25 yet the recording is 2160p30? How does that work? Why is Capture 2160p25 and not 23? and why can't I record at 23 or 25?

I had the Stream Deck Mobike app on an iPad and it worked great. Unforunately my free trial ran out and after I purchased a subscription I cannot get it to connect back up with my PC. Sounds to me like an unrelated networking issue. I've had it happen occasionally myself. Restart the iPad entirely and see if that resolves it. If not, someone in #stream-deck might be able to help more

if it's a physical store that's stopped selling green screens, that would be a store decision and not really anything to do with elgato. There are many possible reasons why they stopped, could be a space issue, could be that it just doesn't sell as much as the other elgato products in their store, etc, no one really knows other than the store.

we wouldn't know sadly, we are a community of volunteers and fans of elgato products who try to help out others to the best of our knowledge and don't have any clue as to what goes on at the elgato headquarters. Elgato cannot comment on any future releases or products so even if they were working on something new, we wouldn't have a clue until the day it gets announced.

The greenscreens are HUGE, so most stores probably don't have space for them or sell that few that its like my favorite store, you can order them but shipping takes awhile since they're not on a shelf somewhere and they order them and ship directly 😛

When I open my OBS, the audio output of my GoXLR Mini starts cutting out.

I have tested numerous things and found out, that if I uninstall the elgato camera hub app from my pc, the audio stuttering goes away.

The stuttering also only happens, while obs is running, otherwise it works fine.

Hi all. I have been down a rabbit hole that led me here. I'm trying to use the Elgato Wave XLR microphone input to calibrate my sound setup and the calibration software only supports ASIO drivers. I found that there were some beta versions of Wave Link 1.4 with experimental ASIO supprot that went away in later versions. I know it will not be perfect for every day use, but it may be just what I need to do my calibration. Is there a link where I could download that version, please?

You can assign the macros to it with Stream Deck hotkeys, if that's what you're worried about. So some buttons can be Stream Deck specific actions other can be just the keypress by assigning it as a hotkey for that button

Hi, I’m a horror game streamer who also sings. My HyperX Quadcast broke, and I’m considering the Wave 3 or a dynamic mic setup like Wave XLR + Rode PodMic or Wave DX.
I have background noise from my keyboard, AC, and family in other rooms. When I scream, heavy noise suppression muffles or cuts out my voice, so I avoid it.

Dynamic mic is better for your situation since you’re needing to maximize noise rejection. You should be eating the mic, and dynamics are made to be used that way. Proximity is your big weapon here, once you’ve already done whatever you can to quiet the noise around you.
Then voice focus is the best right now for real-time voice isolation. But like any processing of this type, the harder you make it work, the more “damage” it will do to the voice. So do the best you can and then let voice focus work on what’s left.

I think wave dx sounds more “finished” than most other dynamics. Almost “pre-eq’d”
But that might not be the best thing if your environment is very noisy.
One of the things that makes dynamic mics work well for rejecting outside noise is they are very mid range emphasized; isolating the voice slightly more, and you make them sound finished with some eq on the back end.

But either mic is very good. Pod mic is larger and heavier. That might be a consideration.

Alright, I'm buying a Wave DX + a Wave XLR, my first option was way more expensive since it included a boomarm from rode but since its not as heavy as the podmic, I checked and its compatible with my current boom arm. That'd be Open Box if it was just a return put back on the shelf. Refurbished gear CAN be open box (sometimes even new old stock that's being liquidated thorugh the refurbished channel), but also gear that has had it's conditioning restored (eg new batteries, replaced broken parts or damaged case). It can be first party refurbished or third party - first party is usually pretty solid. For 3rd party I'd check the seller reviews first to be safe.

Yes, there's a integrated pop filter - in some cases you may wish to add an additional one if the effect isn't strong enough for you, in which case I usually suggest the generic kind on a goose neck arm that clips to your mix cap and you put it in front of the mic.

Use windows sound mixer to route Stream Deck's audio into your Voicemeeter virtual input and route things from there (you'll have to play a sound before Stream Deck shows in the mixer if it's not there). Beyond that, it's a question to ask over in #stream-deck

I have already setup the right coordinate for my OBS for my secondary screen, but sometimes i need to move it manually on my main screen to make some adjustment. but when I close it in my main screen (also maximized in size for better view) when I use the "Windows mover" it goes to the same Main monitor and does not go to my secondary screen.

Discord is a pain in the you know what, because every time it updates it changes the startup folder, if you have the discord icon on your desk right click then left click properties, then under shortcut click on open file location, once that opens you will see a app-xxxxxxx folder along with a packages folder, open the app-xxxxxx folder, if more than one pick the one with the newest date or largest number after the app-, in there you will find the Discord application icon to just drag to you streamdeck

That's a question for #stream-deck - they'll want to know if you're using the macOS one, or the Windows one by BarRaider and if it throws any errors as well.

You can cheat this and run the Discord update program for it which will launch the right Discord version for you (if you follow the shortcut to Discord in your start menu you should get something like "C:\Users<your user name>\AppData\Local\Discord\Update.exe --processStart Discord.exe" ). That's how it normally launches itself from shortcuts when it's changing the actual process location all the time.

It should work just like that (without the quotes though). Check that you have the username folder spelled correctly, as sometimes Windows shortens it from the actual user name.
You should also be on Stream Deck 7.0. iirc 6.9 had a bug with the flags like --processStart

I would suggest contacting elgato directly at #official-tech-support they may be able to verify if it is legit or not for you I'd imagine. Or at the least, be able to direct you to the correct department or person who could verify it.

However, from what I understand, Elgato partnerships/sponsorship is done where the client (aka YOU) email and submit an application to them rather than they reaching out to you. Considering the vast amount of content creators in the world, it would be an extremely difficult process to monitor and follow every content creator to see if they have what it takes to be sponsored. I’m new to this so please bare with some of my obvious misunderstandings if there are any.

So I’m having issues running sounds on my stream deck through microphone. I followed the typical YouTube tutorials for routing. Most the videos are older but I still follow the suggestions made in them and I’m still in the same situation.
SoundDeck/VoiceMeter BarRaider/VM all downloaded along with virtual cable.
I can definitely hear the audio, but chat and friends can’t. Discord/in-game/etc.

When I go to my stream deck software and go to set the output, the option for what I have my SM7B set isn’t available. There are a ton of other options though.

Best way to think about it is, the only way to get a partnership with elgato is if YOU (the user) applies to them, it wouldn't be the other way around just because it would be difficult for them to check every creator in the world's content to see if it's a fit.

Also that key logic is gonna do wonders for vtubing!! Imagine being able to set one key to active/ deactivate and do other stuff with a specific item toggle! Gonna save sooo much space in button layout

Anybody else's Spotify plugin not working since the latest Streamdeck update? 😭

Nope, tried mine yesterday and it worked just fine

More likely that you don't have the Spotify buttons in a folder and since the plugin needs to grab information from Spotify's API directly, not having them in a folder makes the plugin hammer Spotify constantly and they throttle your connection to the API making the plugin show the Warning sign.

I only open my Spotify folder whenever I actually WANT to change the song, that way I never ping the API unnecessarily

I don't think mouse buttons are supported there to toggle it, would be a feature request. But also CTRL Clicking is a system function as well and could conflict with some actions on the computer.

Hi! I was looking to connect my Hd60 into OBS and I had to reinstall Elgato Game Capture (I reset my computer)
And it is not being picked up by Elgato Studio 1.0.1
is it just too old to be picked up? I have had this capture card for a very long time

This is a question for #capture-cards - but HD60 (assuming you mean the original one and not HD60 X), is far too old for Elgato Studio which doesn't support anything older than HD60 S+ . HD60 would use the old Game Capture HD App

just me having extreme problems with setting up wave link? for example why cant i disable the monitor? i dont wanna hear my own voice the whole time while the app is up

Are you trying to disable the on device latency free monitor or the Wave Link software monitor? Either way that's a better question for #wave-audio - but make sure your pc/mic mix is set full PC if your monitor option is already off in wave link, you may have hardware monitoring on

So i got the streamdeck to play audio through my mic, But now mu Shure SM7b sounds like a $12 dollar store headset mic..

Stream Deck+ with XLR dock I assume? That's a question to take to #wave-audio . The dock should be more than capable of running an SM7B so with any luck it's just a settings hiccup to sort out

No. Im just using the steam deck to port audio I place on the stream deck through the mic input. Only other thing I was using was VoiceMeeter

Oh, you're passing Stream Deck Soundboard into Voicemeeter's virtual connections to feed through the same voicemeeter feed as your mic?

You were using the word port audio, not play, so I was assuming you were trying to route audio via the deck itself

That sounds more like a Voicemeeter routing issue than anything else if adding other outputs to it resulted in quality issues. Does removing Stream Deck's soundboard from the equation set the mic back to normal?

Correct. Everything was working perfectly, other then audio via my actual mic

I'm not sure if anyone in #stream-deck has seen this before, but it might be a better question for the Voicemeeter community since that's what's handling the audio routing here.

My first guess if the quality dropped is that not everything is running at the same sample rate, but I'm unsure how Voicemeeeter handles that

XLR is definitely the way to go! I can’t wait for the XENEON EDGE to come out so I can use it in conjunction with the XLR as a digital mixer and try out VSD

As a heads up when you go to set that up, Wave Link will complain if you hook both XLR Dock and Wave XLR up at the same time to the same PC. It cannot support 2 Wave devices at the same time beacuse of the way it handlse audio routing for them.

Yeah I have a pc with no USB C and my old XLR wire was long enough to where I wanted it so I just used that wire

I got my old XLR next to me just to spin for the sound haha

Ive been debating getting a relatively cheap (Like <$100) usb mic for a lil while now and saw that locally, theres a sale for the Wave Neo for like $60. Have yall had good experiences with it? Tempted to grab it

We're admittedly a bit biased here, but it's a good mic for sure

Haven’t tried it personally myself, but every time I hear it on stream it sounds incredible and I get amazed every time

While I haven't tried it, I would say that getting they wave neo for $60 is a good deal and you should totally get it. From the times I've seen it used on stream it sounds like a really good quality mic.

I bought it originally as it was the least expensive way to get Wavelink. Unfortunately I have not used it yet.
