Hi, I have a few questions.
Background:
I bought a cheap capture card, and after a while of recording when I fire a weapon, the sound comes in a second later. I'm going to buy the Elgato HD60 X.
Goal:
To avoid problems with in-game video/audio syncing, video/voice syncing, and my voice being clearly audible even if the game sound is loud, and the same goes for my colleagues.
Questions:
Should I plug my headset into my PC or buy the Elgato Chat Link Pro and plug it into the Elgato HD60 X for my voice on OBS Studio? Which is better?
To record with the capture card, should I set the screenshot scene and make my screen larger in OBS Studio, or is there another way?

A note on the setup, a Chat Link won't split the mic, it only splits the audio coming OUT of the console - headset mic feed will only go to the console, so you'd want an additional mic on the PC to mix your own voice back in.

I'm not sure what you mean about making the screen larger in OBS though - are you trying to play through the software instead of using an additional screen with the HDMI out on the card? there's always going to be a touch of delay if playing through the captured video, though HD60 X's is very short.

Chat Link Pro isn't going to split the mic, so it won't go to the PC, only the console. So you still need a mic on the PC. Chat Links are outright not wired to split mics, just console output.
Also I'm not sure what you're talking about with the second thing - you CANNOT record from your TV. You should be using an app like OBS Studio. Otherwise you wouldn't need a capture card to start with.

Chat Link would be used to capture voice chat coming out from the console, not your own voice. It'll capture other people's voice, but doesn't split your mic so doesn't get your own voice. That's likely why you hear about using it for voice. You add your own voice back in with another mic on the PC.

OBS will record in fullscreen even if your preview isn't in fullscreen, so you shouldn't need to size it up.

Yes - it splits the audio OUT From the console. That does not include YOUR voice, just other people.

It does not split the headset mic - it has a TRRS jack only on the console end, the TRS jack on the PC end doesn't carry mic

I think we're losing something in translation. Unless you have a dual connect headset that connects to the comptuer and the console at the same time that's not going to work becaues you do not get the audio to the PC, so OBS can't do anything with it

You want a Chat Link Pro to record other people. An additional mic to record yourself. There's no added delay if you're using a wired headset with Chat Link Pro, to listen. Recording audio is synced to the video so audio on the PC itself (not the Chat Link) will be slightly delayed to match the video

Likewise, building on that one, if you're just starting, don't dump exorbitant amounts of money into streaming hardware and assets initially. Make sure you have listenable audio, a couple of scenes for common use cases (gameplay, just chatting, brb, and maybe a starting soon screen), and play things by ear. If it's a hobby you like? Go for it! Get all the stuff you need to improve then. If it doesn't work out, you haven't dumped your life savings into top of the line stuff and can walk away safely :3

Hey all, i need some help.
i recently upgraded my monitor to 1440p and around the same time the PS5 had an update (not sure if either of these are the problem) and now my Elgato Game Capture Neo (4k Passthrough, 1080p capture) show no signal when connected to the PS5. HDCP is still turned off in my settings, i have switched the PS5 to only display 1080p in the system settings and it still says no signal. i factory reset the PS5 thinking it was a setting i accidently chanced. I've messed with Every setting in Streamlabs and OBS I would also add that I've hooked up a Nintendo switch to it and it works with no issues (using the same HDMI cord)

Also want to add That i have used the capture card many times with my PS5. it was working flawlessly until recently.

Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance!

So huge Stream Deck news according to Elgato being announced tomorrow. What are you best guesses? Mine, it is a toss up between a new version of the XL or something like Stream Deck Pro. Which would include knobs, 15-20 keys, and a cuople USB ports in the back that would allow you to plugin your MIc and your Prompter. This would be kind of like the USB attachment for the Stream Deck +. Either that or some kind of new software.

The stream deck Network Dock is super interesting.

I dont have any advanced networking experience so setting up a network USB dock is above my knowledge level

But if the software for it is optimized for people like me with only basic networking skills then I'm interested

I have the stream deck plus with USB hub with my camera & Mic. I move the plug for the entire deck/hub back and forth between my streaming PC, work PC, and gaming PC

Is the network dock going to be compatible with the stream deck plus USB hub? Will I be able to assign usb (in this case camera & mic) to multiple PC's

You know how with Stream Deck Mobile, your phone doesn't have to be directly connected to your PC to be able to use the software? That lets you put the phone running SDM basically anywhere so long as it's still connected to your local network

The network dock basically does this, but for physical devices. So long as the dock is connected to the same network, then it'll be able to talk with a computer running the Stream Deck software and make the device work even if the two are entirely physically separate

As a practical example, in a future stream setup, I want to set up a little workbench with a network attached camera pointing down, a tablet so I can read chat and monitor my stream, and a Stream Deck. Previously, I'd have gone with Stream Deck Mobile running on the tablet as a way to control the stream and the camera and stuff, but now I could put a physical Stream Deck on the desk and use the network dock to connect it to my main streaming PC

So essentially its a physical stream deck mobile with the only difference being that it has to be phsyically plugged into the ethernet cable as opposed to the SDM which is via wifi BUT like the SDM it can be placed anywhere. So I can have a stream deck in my kitchen to control kitchen lights, camera angle switches etc if i wanted to do cooking streams and just use a simple tablet or even phone to monitor chat for example

For the most part, yeah! Only major difference from your understanding is that you can plug any physical SD into the dock, and it'll turn it into a network connected Stream Deck

So you could have a SD+ hooked up over Ethernet :3

Good evening, I have a strange issue that I want to share with you. Recently, Streamdeck Plus with USB-C Hub added begin to show a message that I need to be sure that the screen are connected by Displayport and the connection is limited. Futhermore, I have 3 monitor + prompter and if I turn on the third monitor, the prompter disconnect randomly and need to readjust other monitors. Anyone have a same issue?

Was wondering if anyone had an issue where the touchstrip on their Streamdeck+ messes up and when pressing one icon it mutes another or goes to the next page? I have been able to remembe this by unplugging and plugging back in the streamdeck, but wondering if it is a known or issue or if I am doing something wrong?

Somewhat ironically, the SD network addon will obviate my need for XLR and USB docks

Leave it unplugged overnight or up to 24 hours so the digitizer in the strip discharges and see if it clears up. If not go through #official-tech-support about the issue.
