you could but it's not a guarantee it's gonna play nice.

The PS5 doesn't have DP, so I'm assuming you mean HDMI to DP? Generally no. DP ports often have an alt mode that can passively switch to HDMI, which makes it easy to go from DP to HDMI in most cases. HDMI doesn't have an equivalent (there's one specced but it's not used on any device ever, as far as I'm aware and I believe it was deprecated from the spec as a result). That means HDMI to DP requies an active adapter that requires external port, and increases latency because it actually has to process HDMI into a DP signal. It also tends to lock the adapteres into specific outputs which may not play nice with your capture card or monitor

Generally the Elgato team doesn't comment on future product plans, but if I had to hazard a guess probably not for an exceedingly long time, if ever

Meld is completely different under the hood compared to OBS, so scenes made for one wouldn't transfer to the other

That's what I did with my own. Mic Arm Pro for the mic, and moved my LP arm to prompter duty

Just check the weight rating on the arm if you go mounting any notably heavy cameras or lenses in your prompter

So all my hd60 x is connected my ps5 is on and wired through the hd60 using hdmi but when I go on the capture utility I just have a black screen and I go to settings and it says no video signal I’ve tried swapping hdmi around all my wires work and I’ve had it working before but I don’t know what is going on with it now is there anyway to fix this

Assuming you confirmed that the video works when connected directly to the TV, the issue is probably video signal is either out of range for the capture card (resolution/frame rate), or HDCP is blocking it.

There's a couple of disparities between the X (external USB card) and the Pro (PCIe card).

• 4K Pro has better passthrough support, as it can do 4K240 and 8K60 passthrough, whereas 4K X tops out at 4K144
• 4K Pro has worse capture support, as it can only do 4K30 and 4K60 capture whereas 4K X can do 4K120 and 4K144 as well

Realistically, wave DX and sm7b will have very similar off-axis rejection characteristics.

I think at the end of the day you could say it's a fact that sm7b is a "better" mic. But it's not 4 times better, like the price would suggest.
DX is a great mic. Certainly doesn't have less background rejection or appreciably higher self noise than more expensive dynamic mics.

Wave xlr can power the SM7b on its own,
Dynamic mics don’t use phantom power.
The sm7dB is a version which has an additional preamp built into it which runs on phantom power lower essentially a “cloud lifter” (although that’s a brand name)
It makes the mic around 15dB louder into the preamp. It’s a nice feature but not essential.

And @barren kettle not surprised at all. Wave dx sounds much more like a processed, treated mic out of the box. Very close sonic profile to a typical condenser a streamer would encounter, actually.
SM7b sounds very “broadcast”-like and needs more eq than many other mics to begin with. It will sound dark and sometimes harsh without an eq. It’s a good starting point for broadcast but it’s not just ready to go out of the box.
Honestly it’s a great mic but it’s only regarded as the best out of mystique and history. Not because it sounds appreciably better is normal use.
And wave dx punches way above its weight class. Thanks to the Lewitt designed capsule. I’d have gotten a DX myself if I didn’t already have lots of mics because I have a recording studio!

I haven’t tried to do Ultra Wide using the capture card because I’ve been using it via screen recording directly through OBS. If I had a secondary Ultra Wide monitor, I would definitely test it out, but I have no desk space for another monitor right now unless I wall mount.

I retired my C920 and C922 with the Facecam Pro, incredible difference, the MK.2 has almost as big of a sensor so you'll get amazing quality aswell, just make sure your lighting is sufficient 🙂

frankly I don't need the 4K, but I got it before the MK.2 had released hehe

I watched a bunch of JayzTwoCents and EposVox videos when the first gen Arc cards came out with the AV1 encoding and it was so much better than nvenc etc, X264 is still better if you have enough cpu horsepower but waaay slower to encode for the same quality
