Honestly, once you get a certain point it's a matter of diminishing returns. Not just mics, but any audio equipment

I had a friend once who bought a $400 mic in the hopes it'd improve her audio setup. Blind tests with myself and a bunch of other people between that mic and her old one (a $200ish mic, IIRC) revealed that most people either couldn't tell a difference or actually preferred the texture of the old mic

She ended up returning it as a result

If you're serious about audio, though, you'll want to sound treat your streaming room to cut down on echoes. Depending on how bad it is, that can seriously impact your audio quality

Another big thing with good mics is that they basically expect you to shape the sound as you want later in the input chain. They might sound a bit flat in some cases but really pop once you EQ it to your liking

I am using ChatGPT voice converstation. Currently when I press button on stream deck it will activate the voice converstation. my mic is unmuted and it can hear me speak, The issue is when ChatGpt talks back to me it get interuted because it hear itself or someone else in the background. I was thinking to have button where I can press and activate chatGPT converstation and unmute mic but of couse don't have a quick way to mute the mic without pressing lots of buttons

well the wave 3 is as Erinalle said a mic where you tap the top of the mic lightly (that is where the mute button is) and your mic is muted so no pressing lots of buttons

I have had instances where I felt a sudden sneeze coming and I quickly tapped the top of the mic and I was instantly muted

I would've said make a multiaction button on stream deck but you need to set a sort of timer for the next action to start and I think that makes the one button thing impossible to work for what you wanna do

since it all depends on how long it takes you to say whatever it is to chatgpt and then for it to reply to you

so as far as my knowledge goes you either make 3 buttons side by side for each action so 1st button launch chatgpt, the next is mute your mic and the other unmute
or you do what I said you just tap the mute button of the wave mic to mute and then tap again to unmute

This is probably the ideal unless they’re using a Stream Deck plus they can use an action trigger, and that would have the same effect for those three buttons they would still have to choose the function, but really with the term of a dial or push

Hello i got a Question could i run an elgato 4k pro pcie external via usb 4 (usb c) or only via thunderbolt 3 or 4? Wanna use it fully so 4k120hz passthrough with 4k60 Recording

You could get 4K120 passthrough with 4K60 recording with the 4K X usb 3.2 Gen 2 card, without having to deal with any sort of PCIe tunnling or adapters.
Officially running the PCIe cards over thunderbolt isn't supported so mileage may vary there if you can get it setup at all. In theory it's possible, but most people who need an external solution are going to go with the actual external capture card so you're not going to see much info on it.

I agree with this, it is possible to use an eGPU chassis, but not with thunderbolt support that I'm aware of... As for the external solution best to get a 4K X.

403 just indicates the connection was blocked for some reason. It can be caused by technical issues, stale login sessions and other reasons too - the most common these days is the country list that explicitly blocks connections though.

Then to top it all off, multiple elgato face cams for streaming different pov for musical instruments or unboxings. Elgato lights for that soft key light and that nice edge lighting. #question-of-the-day First of all the colour : everything mint green if possible xD then a much larger desk, 2 Elgato key lights, an elgato prompter for my voice acting stuff (among other things), an elgato green screen to set up behind me (don't even need the big one, the 'regular' sized one is perfect), a second Elgato facecam to have one filming me and the other on my plushies I would set up nicely (yes I flex my plushies collection of mostly Final fantasy characters and a Capybara yes I know you hear the song), add a Chat Link Pro to my capture card, get the shock mount and pop filter for my wave 3
also add the light strip around my panels just to make them more fancy

It’s a very good value. Designed by Lewitt, a renown mic builder. Excellent quality and sound at the price point.
The mv7 is a fine mic in its own way; good for people who want to have some basic mic processing without a lot of fuss, or needing to totally understand what they are doing.
It is worth mentioning that mv7 shares nothing other than looks with the SM7b, though Shure would love for people to assume they are similar mics. But they don’t share any components and mv7 is much more a sound quality equal with things like elgato dx, rode pod mic, and some other dynamics in the price range.

#question-of-the-day "dream" setup is a bit mercurial, but it would be nice to have triple 27" 1440p monitors and some actual storage space so I can clean up all of the clutter properly. Accent LED lighting and ambilights would be quite nice as well.

Thinking on it a bit more, dual PCs and a clean capture setup between them would be nice. I've always liked those full tower cases that let you build two PCs in the same physical case, which would at least let me pretend that this setup is still space efficient

Yeah, Elgato discontinued it and unlisted it a while back, sadly. If you go to the App Store, click on your user profile picture at the top right of the home screen, then go to Apps -> All Apps and search EpocCam, it should show up in the list and let you redownload it

Apparently according to that, I first downloaded it on December 13th 2013. That's longer ago than I realized.

the more i look at the stream desk the more i want it but at the same time i'd be like...what if...instead of a keyboard you used the buttons for the keyboard...and leave a small empty space at the back so you can put a monitor mount...that way you dont have stuff sitting on top of keys that you could be using....

Fun fact: the Stream Deck started life as an experimental keyboard

It wasn't made by Elgato, and it was pretty bad from what I've heard, but it looked really cool

And that inspired Elgato to license/purchase the button tech (I forget which) and repurpose it as the macro pad we all know and love
